Formed in Liverpool in 1960, the Beatles became one of the most successful and critically acclaimed bands of all time. As testament to their success, they gained a devoted fan base around the world, and the Beatles Story Experience was later created to satisfy the Beatlemania that still grips Liverpool to this day.
The attraction was initially based at Liverpool's Albert Dock (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and housed a large exhibition of exciting Beatles memorabilia for fans to see. It quickly proved so popular that a second Beatles Story Experience site was developed at Pier Head, a short walk away from the Albert Dock.
Both sites are included in your ticket price. While you can start your Beatles Story Experience at either location, it's recommended that you start at the Albert Dock site to experience the history of the Beatles first. Listen to an audio guide, narrated by John Lennon's sister, as you take your own magical mystery tour around the exhibition! The Albert Dock site also includes an interactive Discovery Zone, and the Fab4 Cafe. It's perfect for a spot of relaxation before heading over to the second site.
The Pier Head site houses some world-class exhibitions, alongside a souvenir shop, the Fab4 Store, which stocks the largest selection of official Beatles merchandise in the world.
We had a lovely tour on the Beatles experience and it was enjoyed by all . The only criticism we had was that we were under the impression on the website there as two parts, on arriving to do the second part we found it had been closed since December 31st. I think all sites need updating. But it was well worth the money.

Went on a holiday with a Beatle Freak husband did the Cavern Club , did the Magical Mystery Tour, and then finally the Beatles Story Experience. Wonderful, that's all I can say he had a smile on his face the minute we walked in , we actually spent a lot of time there ...there was so much to see and read so make sure your not rushed I am pretty sure we were there a good 2-3 hours and then after that walk the promenade and see the big statues of the Beatles awesome day worth the money and time so much good information and pictures. There was a big advantage in pre booking as the queue to get in was very long but we were able to get to the front. The experience consists of walking through tunnels with various pictures and listening to an audio presentation that was reasonably interesting but if you have any issues with claustrophobia do not go the crowd was reminiscent of Oxford St the Saturday before Christmas all jammed into a dark tunnel and moving at a snails pace. Of course it was August and I guess the peak time but it was uncomfortable and boring there are so many better attractions to visit in Liverpool with many of them being free.

The tour was enjoyable. Lots of info and memorabilia to see. Great job setting scenes like the recording studio and the cavern. Audio tour included, but the exhibit sounds/videos were too loud for me to hear the audio tracks without blasting the volume so it hurt my ears. Had lots of fun.

This tour is split into two locations - the first tells the story of the members of the Beatles from start to finish, and includes recreations of places that are significant to the story. The second location deals mostly with the British Invasion groups and only includes additional bits and pieces about the Beatles. So while I do like a lot of the British Invasion groups that were covered, I felt it was a little misleading to just use the Beatles name on that part and not mention that other groups were the focus.

If you only have time to visit one of the two venues, make it the one in the Albert Dock which is far bigger and better organised. The audio guide was excellent with additional videos and extra information. The display at Pier Head felt a bit old, with FM radios providing the audio guide and everything feeling a bit run-down. 4D movie is short but fun.

The Beatles Story Experience was a very well done tour. Get their early!!! I think it opens at 9:00 and nothing else is open at this time. I prepurchased the tour tickets on Viator, but upon arriving when it opened I was still told to stand in line with everyone buying their tickets. After explaining repeatedly that I had already bought the tickets the employee finally let me go in. I would have been furious had I come later and expected to stand in the long line to the museum while an uninformed employee kept telling me to wait in line.

We really loved our afternoon here on our way to Ireland. We were all teens in the 60s so knew most of it anyway but felt that the exhibition was well put together and gave us a lovely trip down memory lane. There are still no groups to compare with the Beatles in my opinion and they have been the soundtrack to my life.
