Southampton Shore Excursion: Post-Cruise Tour to London via Salisbury, Stonehenge and Windsor

London, United Kingdom

When your cruise ship docks at the Port of Southampton, make the most of the journey to London with this coach transfer that visits three of England's must-see destinations – Salisbury, Stonehenge and Windsor. In the beautiful city of Salisbury, you’ll see the medieval Salisbury Cathedral. Then enjoy the drive to Stonehenge, where you can contemplate the various theories about this prehistoric monument, and visit the town of Windsor, home to Windsor Castle. The coach will then take you to your London hotel.

This port transfer allows you to combine the drive from the Port of Southampton to London with visits to three world-class attractions! You will be met on arrival at the Southampton docks by your friendly guide and transferred by luxury coach to London via Salisbury, Stonehenge and Windsor.

Your first stop is Salisbury, home to one of Britain’s finest Gothic cathedrals, built in the 13th century (entry at own expense). After a guided tour through the medieval town, you will have free time to explore on your own and go into the cathedral if you wish. Then hop back in your coach and drive through the beautiful English countryside, past villages with historical churches and thatched-roof cottages.

On your way to your next stop – Stonehenge – your guide will tell you some of the many myths, legends and facts behind one of the greatest mysteries of the prehistoric world. Was it a temple, a clock, a burial site? Decide for yourself as you walk around the stones (entry at own expense) or browse in the gift shop.

After 90-minutes at Stonehenge, depart for the town of Windsor, where more than 900 years of history await. Grab some lunch (own expense) in one of the lovely restaurants in the town center, and then enjoy a guided walk of the old town and Eton College. You’ll also have some time to visit the castle if you wish (castle entrance fee at own expense). Windsor Castle is the largest continuously occupied castle in the world, and your guide will explain to you its full history.

Your coach will depart Windsor at 4pm for your journey to London, which is less than an hour’s drive. When you arrive in London, additional vehicles or taxis may be used (included in the price) to ensure that hotel drop-offs for all passengers are completed as quickly as possible.

Worry-free Shore Excursion:
If your ship is delayed and you are unable to attend this activity, your money will be refunded. See our terms and conditions for full details.

Our tour guide was very informative of the area we drove through. It was what I thought England's weather was like most of the time, even though it was the middle of August....drizzle and gray. It was exploring the area south of London which I hadn't seen in the other 2 visits I've done in England both in June. Enjoyed the castle and catheral which there's a lot of these in England/Europe! Stonehenge was also interesting and it was busy place with tourists, then after walking around, enjoyed the little cafe there.

This tour was excellent! Luxury bus picked us up right at the port after our cruise. We went to Salisbury Cathedral, which was gorgeous. Our tour guide gave us an incredible wealth of information prior to getting there and then we pretty much were on our own in the cathedral. He made himself readily available to answer any questions and provide further information if we wanted it in the cathedral. This was perfect as we were able to focus on what we wanted to see rather than him pointing things out to a large group. We then went to Stonehenge. Again, by the time we got there, we knew well in advance what to look for and history so looking at Stonehenge was very enjoyable. When we went to Windsor Castle, we were able to walk around by ourselves but he had advised us very thoroughly what to do and look for. Windsor is an amazing experience and should not be missed! As we were part of a tour, we skipped the long line and walked right in! This tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, quite funny, and made for an incredible experience all the way around. After Windsor, the bus dropped us right at our hotel! It was such an easy, enjoyable way to go from ship to hotel! Would highly recommend it!!

Will, was our guide and quite funny. It was a wonderful experience. Coming off a ship can be very chaotic so I was a little nervous about finding our guide but there was someone there right when we departed customs.

This tour is a must for any new visitor to the Normandy coast. Our guide was knowledgeable and gave us time to visit each site along with some time to explore on our own. The tour is limited to groups no larger than 14 people and ours was small and this made the experience even better as we all had time to ask questions.

an exceptional tour. Not enough time to spend at Salisbury and Windsor Castle but certainly an incentive to come back to visit.

A Fun Way To Transfer From Ship To Heathrow With A Wonderful Tour Included! Bus was comfortable and the tour guide were very good. Tour guide had extensive knowledge of the areas and the history. Dropped us off at the front door of our Hotel at Heathrow before dropping off the remaining passengers at the airport. Tickets for entry to attractions were included. The only negatives were the bus driver pulled up at our terminal and we and the other passengers were waiting where our tour guide greeted us, he then passed by us and headed to another terminal. This left us standing in the light rain. He finally came back about 20-25 minutes later. The other disappointment was that it was Sunday, so Salisbury Cathedral was closed due to services. Why bother to stop at Salisbury when they know that it is not open on Sunday's. Reduce the price and save the time. The only thing we did there was walk a few blocks and go to the gift shop and cafe. The Chapel at Windsor was also closed for services and while a small inconvenience the rest of the Castle was amazing . We would not hesitate to use this Company again based on the overall experience and the ease of getting back to Heathrow.

What a great opportunity to visit some of the more out of the way attractions in the UK. Tour was well organized and included drop off at your hotel in London whether it was at the airport or in the city. Not sure how to improve, but because of the crowds at Stonehenge, the 2 hours allotted was very rushed . . . and in Salisbury and Windsor, you pretty much had to choose between seeing the cathedral and castle or wandering about the towns. _br/_ But a great way to combine returning from the cruise port of Southampton and seeing more important and beautiful sights.

We had a great tour with visits to Stonehenge, Salisbury, Stonehenge and Windsor. The tour guide was informative with interesting insights about the history and culture of the areas. The time at each location was appropriate however, with any tour of this kind more time would have been great. We were picked up on time as indicated at the ship. One downside was the fact that we were dropped at the wrong Marriott however it worked out as the original hotel was overbooked and sending their bookings to the hotel where we were dropped. Overall a good experience.

If you're going back to London after a cruise, for a bit extra money than it would cost to take a taxi back to the city, you can have a fabulous additional day of touring! The company, International Friends, met us at the pier after we docked, loaded up our luggage into the bus and we headed off to Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge and Windsor Castle -- and then they dropped us at our London hotel! The tour guide was very professional and informative and explained what we could expect at each stop, how much time we would have and where to meet the bus at the end of the visit. The one disappointment was that we returned on a Sunday and Salisbury Cathedral was not offering formal tours and the shop was closed. But I would definitely look into post-cruise tours again given our positive experience with this.

We had a day to fill in after our cruise into Southampton, so booked this tour that took us from our ship to the airport via Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral and Windsor Castle. A very good option unfortunately, because it was a weekend in Summer all venues were very busy which made sightseeing a bit of a jostle. Our tour guide and bus driver were very good. They were waiting for us at the dock, handled our luggage for us and organised 3 separate tranfers for the group back to different hotels and the airport so that the whole tour group did not have to visit countless drop off spots.

This is a fantastic way to get from the Southampton cruise port to begin a stay in London. The only negative was the lack of time to fully enjoy Stonehenge or Windsor Castle due to the crowds and line for the transport bus to Stonehenge from the parking lot. But that is not their fault! Just bad luck with many buses arriving at the same time. We were thrilled to see the best original copy of the Magna Carta at the church in Salisbury - an extra that was unexpected, but fascinating. Such tiny, perfect writing! Lots of small buses and vans arrived to take us all directly to our hotels in London after the visit to Windsor Castle, and the unloading and reloading of luggage and belongings was a bit crazy - but it all ended well, and each divided group went to different areas in London, to the front door of each hotel. Much better, and cheaper, than any other option, and definitely more fun! A great way to start a visit to London after a cruise.

This was amazing! Our guide was knowledgeable and we were not expecting Salisbury to be so amazing. I seriously thought that Salisbury was just on the way to Stonehenge and didn't have the worlds oldest running clock or a copy of the Magna Carta in a gorgeous cathedral! This was actually our favorite part of the tour. Stonehenge was great as was Windsor never enough TIME!, it was just so hot and humid out and we were exhausted. Definitely do this tour if you have the opportunity and cooler weather!

Very organized with knowledgeable guide. Can you believe seeing these amazing sites: one of the 4 beautifully calligraphied Magna Cartas in the world, written in 1215 and housed in Salisbury Cathedral This document forms a basis for our constitutional law of rights and principles viewing the enigmatic Stonehenge and then visiting the huge Windsor Castle--all in one day before returning to your hotel or the airport. What a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it for all. Wow!

International Friends . the company that operates the tour, were amazing. Norwegian changed our dock time and even with short notice they were able to get us organized and on our way efficiently. We left the tour at Windsor so that took extra planning and our guide Rob was great organizing our luggage so it was accessible and escorting us right to our hotel._br/_ That said,it is a lot to try to see in one day and the crowds were huge, given it was a cruise ship day. Salisbury was not crowded but we chose to visit town vs the interior of the Cathedral. It is a lovely place._br/_ Our time at Stonehenge allowed for a scamper around in order to line up for the bus back to our bus on time._br/_ Windsor Castle is so incredibly huge and beautiful, it really requires its own day or more. We were fortunate to stop off there and enjoy it again. The crowds were not quite so big on our second day but still a significant line up for the changing of the guard._br/_ The trip through Viator was no problem. Could have booked direct but strangely, their site doesn't offer any options if your ship is late and Viator did._br/_ Have used Viator guides and tours in the past with good results. This excursion, while disrupted by the ship's timing and really including too much for one day, was an excellent experience for anyone who wants an 'overview' of sites to which one might wish to return in future.

Review by:   Juan Carlos F,    June 2017 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
It went from good to bad. Reception in Southampton good. In time and without problems. First stop: Salisbury Cat. OK but too long. The guide an arrogant guy called Andrew that insisted to teach English language to the passengers told not to enter the cathedral so for photos outside and toilets 30 minutes would be enough. Second: Stonehenge. We arrived 10:15 and the guide keep us in the bus until he brought the tickets and audio guides. So he went away with some people and let us alone why we didnt go all together? telling that the return time was 12:15. We could catch a shuttle bus almost at eleven so when we arrived at the location, we couldnt use the audio guides to be in time. At 11:30 we went back to the shuttle but the line was so long that at 12:15 we were still in the line. Finally at 12:30 we arrived to the information center and only went to the toilets there was a line too cuoldnt see the exhibitions, all the things there, and not even buy a souvenir. We headed to the coach at 12:35 to find, half way, the Andrew guy that has not better idea that to lecture us because we were late ! Not even paying attention to our complains because he left us alone and without guide but also made the other people who went with him applause us as if we had been in a picnic shame on him for encouraging the people to mock us while the fault was hims. Shame apart, we finally arrived to Windsor again a waste of time arriving to the place waiting for him to give us the tickets and a map and disappear ... We never saw him again and were alone in the palace, only with a map and without time to know about anything the guide was not there just to take some photos in the exterior and run to the buses that were not very near. FINAL ACT: All the baggage was taken out of the bus and put on the street. We were going to be separated by destination bujt this was ot what happen. All was done without any order and in a disordered way. All of us running from one side to another inquiring with whom were we going. Nobody seemed to know exactly nothing and the Andrew guy was just inside the bus. Finally after all that tension and asking by third time we were directed to a coach 20 mts ahead and pretending that we should carry all our luggage without any trolley or help. After my demand of help I carried two bags, he carried two and my wife other two. The guy who took us to the Hotel was an excellent person and very informative I learn more with him than in the rest of the trip. Must I mention that I felt cheated because this excursion was not what I was expecting for the money I spent ? It is a pitty because I made another good excursions with Viator without problems, but this time it was really disappointing and I think that I didn't receive a good service for what I paid. So sorry Viator but this is a good by, never wiil see you again !!!

The tour guide was excellent. Robert was very well versed in the history of the area being toured. Very knowledgable, energetic, helpful and spoke clearly. He was an excellent tour conductor. As with all the tours I had taken, the drivers were the best. Drove safely and always cutious drivers, especially since traffic in London if horrific!

A great way to transition from your cruise vacation to a few days in London. The guided tour takes you to Salisbury Cathedral to see the Magna Carta. For history nuts this is just spectacular. Then you head off to Stonehenge for a close up experience of this archaeological site. Next you arrive at Windsor Castle to see all things royalty. What a treat. By the time you arrive at your hotel in London you've been treated to some of the best things Great Britain has to offer. It helped set us up for a wonderful time ion London on our own. The best part was the tour guides and bus driver. They were top notch and loads of fun. I would do it again for sure.

Loved this. Picked up at dock and dropped off in London at our hotel. The three sites we visited were all must sees. Our tour guide, Rob, was knowledgeable and enjoyable._br/_ Two things would have made the tour and absolute 5 star event:_br/_ Inclusion of wifi on bus_br/_ Explicit instructions about lunch. In hindsight my husband and I should have eaten at Stonehenge prior to re-boarding bus. As it turned _br/_ out, we were starving by the time we got to Windsor 2:00ish. Since we had to enter the castle with the group, we ended up doing a _br/_ flyby of the castle, because we were too hungry to care!!

Wonderful says it all! Very well organized. It made the trip into London a whole day excursion with enough time at Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge and Windsor Castle to check it out. We chose not to go into the Castle, but others did. Her Majesty was there. Her standard was flying. Rob was a FANTASTIC tour guide!!. He met us at the cruise terminal and luggage was loaded according to the order of hotel drop off. Ours was first on as we were last off but even that was great, as when we got to London he was still tour guiding the sites as we dropped off passengers at their hotels. ei:Westminster Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben,Victoria Station etc...! Thanks for making it a fabulous day and not just transportation from the cruise ship to London. I highly recommend it!

Very good tour...we had just four of us with the guide, so got lots of good information and near in drop offs at various stops, which was convenient, plus dropped off right at our downtown London hotel. For not much more than the transfer from the ship to downtown would have cost, we got in some real nice sight seeing. Highly recommended at the end of a cruise if staying on in London.

We joined this tour after the ending of our cruise in Southampton. We were looking to get a good overview of some sites on our way into London. The tour turned out to be a perfect option. The 3 stops we made, Salsbury Cathedral, Stonehnge and Windsor Castle gave us the experience we were looking for. Our driver Paul made the trip into London especially great for me on the way to our hotel so I could walk across Abbey Road. I do recommend this tour.

Loved this tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable. We were unable to see the Magna Carta as it was a Sunday and not open until after 12 and we were there around 9. Wish we had more time at Stonehenge. It was very crowded. The trip into central London was hindered by a bicycle race. A lot of patience required by the bus driver! He got us safely to our hotel, even though it took an hour longer than expected.

Great way to spend the last day after the cruise. We were picked up at the pier and left promptly. Our tour guide was excellent and funny. It is a packed day with just enough time in each spot but you are getting to see a lot in one day. We were given an hour and a half at Stonehenge which went by very quickly as you have to take a bus out to the stones and back. We ended up grabbing sandwiches and drinks and bringing them on the bus for the 1 1/2 hour journey to Windsor. We were transferred to a car after Windsor and dropped off right at Terminal 4 in Heathrow by 5 p.m. Would highly recommend.

The guide was very informative and entertaining. On the down side, I believe everyone was expecting a guided tour in the places we visited. At Stonehenge, I asked how to get to the rocks and someone pointed out a road. I started out, not realizing dat 74 yrs old that I was going to walk 2 miles, half of it uphill and then discovered they had shuttles. I fortunately learned soon enough to catch a shuttle back. We were lead into Windsor castle and turned lose. We were told to meet back at the bus at a time. However, my wife and I spent approx. 45 minutes trying to find the buses. After we got on the bus and unloaded, we were informed we had to move to another bus. We were relieved to arrived at the hotel.
