Baja Waterfalls and Canyons from Los Cabos

Los Cabos, Mexico

An oasis in the middle of the desert! Hike the canyons of Sierra La Laguna, traversed by Indians hundreds of years ago, where increased rainfall creates a unique biosphere. Swim in the natural springs and waterfalls surrounded by incredible granite formations and impressive wildlife.

Baja California is a unique place of natural wonders. It has around 70% of the cacti in Mexico and Mexico has 80% of the existing cacti of the world! In the middle of the desert, you can find an oasis of palm trees and rivers which stretch all the way to the seas. The Sea of Cortez on the east side is well known for its crystal clear waters and deserted island with amazing rock formations and white sandy beaches.

Departing from Los Cabos and accompanied by a professional bilingual guide, this trip will enrich your knowledge and understanding of the natural history and culture of the beautiful surrounding desert and sea. Journey through the past as you learn about the wonderful history of Baja in local Ranchos and explore the fossils of this area.

The tour will begin with pickup from the main lobby of your hotel. You'll then head to Santiago town to visit the La Zorra Canyon with its natural spring water. After this, you'll visit the fossils and a local ranch, where you'll have the opportunity to interact with the natives as they go about their day. A delicious lunch is included.

This experience was, hands-down, our favorite of the trip. That said - it's not for just everyone. The hiking was adventurous at times, challenging at others, and while it was a perfect match to my 22 year old daughter's athleticism, her momma had to push herself. Oh - but I'm so glad that I did! It was MAGNIFICENT! The waterfalls and quiet pools in the midst of all that dessert were simply breathtaking. Casey - our guide and the owner of the company that runs this tour - was very knowledgeable and supportive of the this aforementioned challenged momma. With his support, encouragement and boot, I scaled down walls I never would have imagined myself capable of attempting, much less mastering. After the hike with it's incredible beauty, we stopped for an authentic and delicious dinner at a local cafe. It was simple ... and simply fabulous! The tour consisted of my daughter and myself so I can't speak for how things would go for a large group, but I can only imagine that a group of healthy, mobile, hiking boot-shod any size would have an equally marvelous time.

Great tour and loved seeing the little oasis town of Santiago. Our guide Casey was great. But it is a bit of a hike on a rocky trail down a natural stairway partially carved out of the rocks which you need to traverse to get to the waterfall. I read a few similar comments in other reviews and bought some light hiking shoes - glad I did. Make sure to have lunch in little restaurant the guide recommends in Santiago.

I loved this tour but I agree with one other review here about the description doesn and #39;t fully match the actually activity. I understand the word and #34;hike and #34; was part of the description, but that word has been used very loosely and they should specify and #34;rocky hike with almost no walking pavements and #34;.

was not accurately described in description - hike consisted of very narrow VERY rocky trail bordered by cliff that was covered in boulders - if you're not comfortable with narrow rocky trails on the side of a cliff on i would not suggest this tour - scenery beautiful but not worth a twisted ankle or worse if you miss a step on the rocky mountain trail

Incredible tour! Fantastic , entertaining guides (Casey and Ismael) . Great hike. The waterfall and the swimming holes are surreal - crystal clear water / a real glimpse at local life/ great authentic lunch / stop at local bakery in the morning - the first tour I will book when I return to Cabo

What a surprising oasis to find in the Baja desert! Fun to learn about the local plants and geography as we hiked the rocky trails through the canyons and along the waterfalls. Our guide, Casey, made this trip both an interesting and enjoyable experience. Thanks!

This half day trip was a lot of fun. There is some scrambling up and down rocks involved, so it would be a plus to wear hiking boots, although I did just fine in my trail running shoes. Our guide, Casey, was great! He was both knowedgable and personable. Great experience!

Although it was dry season and the waterfall wasnt much more than a trickle, we had a wonderful experience. Our guide Che was full of tidbits of information and history about the area. I am definately glad we selected this activity

Staff was wonderful, but we could have used better information from Viator ahead of the trip regarding type, clothing, etc.

The trail was a much rougher than advertised on your website. The waterfalls were not particularly noteworthy. However, the guide was outstanding and seeing the interior of Baja California Sur was very interesting. So, overall the trip was worth doing for the price.
