This is a great cruise! The boat is old, but very well taken care off. The suites are big for a ship and have huge windows. So the views are amazing. The crew was very friendly. and the tipping at the end of the cruise makes it very comfortable. All the stops were very organized and our guide Ayman, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Would recommend and repeat.

My husband and I really enjoyed this trip. We were upgraded to a stateroom and it was very nice, roomy and clean. I loved having a huge window to look out as we went down the Nile River. All the staff was just marvelous. Everyone treated us as if we were kings and queens and always with a smile on their faces. The food was standard but good and plentiful. The stops were all at places we had wanted to see. My favorites were the Temple of Isis at Philae and Karnak Temple. We had Michael as our guide to show us the sites. I can't praise Michael enough. He was such a great guide. He knew all about the temples and sites we saw and he could answer any of our questions. I definitely would ask for him again. This was a great tour and I think the best way to see many of the sites in Egypt. I would love to do it again when we go back for another visit.

What a wonderful experience - cruising down the Nile River - stopping off at various temples and places on route to Aswan. We were on the vessel Amarco - our tour guide Tony was incredible - so much knowledge. The boat was very well equipped and nothing was too much trouble for the staff - we had a great time and would definitely recommend this cruise. We did an optional tour to Abu Simbel which was amazing - definitely worth the trip. The tombs at The Valley of the Kings were unbelievable and we paid the extra to see Seti's tomb - no words to describe it a very worthwhile recommendation from Tony

This was an amazing experience. Our assigned guide Tony Adel was wonderful. He, like all guides is a university trained Eygptologist and really knows his stuff. He made history come alive. We had originally booked for a group tour but VIiator upgraded us to a private tour. If I had known more when I originally booked I would have paid the extra money for the private tour. Tony was our guide for the entire 5 day trip.

We had a very enjoyable Nile River Cruise from Luxor to Aswan. Tourism in Egypt has taken a major hit since the 2011 revolution, and although we felt very safe and well looked after, both the ship and the sites we visited felt very quiet. We did not sign up for the private guide option, but in the end had only one other couple in our group. The food on board the ship was excellent, and the staff made a huge effort despite there being only 18 passengers on board. The temples and tombs we visited were extraordinary - really must see. Great photos and some fantastic memories from each place. There were a few touristy places e.g. demonstrations of how alabaster is carved, or textiles or papyrus is made, followed by hard sells of those products which we could have done without, but others may find them interesting or welcome the shopping opportunities. In particular, our guide Michael was outstanding - really a great guide, highly knowledgable, fluent in three languages, and a nice guy as well.

This was a great ship. It was clean, the staff was amazing, everything was well organized, the food was good. I have no complaints. If you are fortunate enough to be able to do a Nile cruise, pick this company. Top notch.

We had the time of our lives. From the pickup at Luxor airport till they said goodbye in Aswan's, all of the experience was simply surreal. We were treated as royalty but with such closeness and so much sincere kindness and humanity from all the crew, that we were moved to tears when we had to part. Our guide Rabeh was there for us and so correct, educated, knowledgeable, companion, it was so enriching to be around him. We learned a lot about the past and present of Egypt. We feel very happy and grateful we could enjoy that much. The temples and tombs, the bazars and bars, the view of the Nile from the cruise and faluca were unforgettable. The onboard service was amazing, food was goumet, generous and yummy. Don't think twice! South SinaĆ Travel is first quality. Viator was very solicitous too. You'll never ever regret it.

The ship Mirage 1 was really old. There was not much to do on board: tiny pool not very clean, one cafeteria-style restaurant with limited hours, only one English CNN TV channel, a closet sized really fitness room. The activities usually lasted half of a day. For the rest of the time, you are stuck on this little ship.

Most of the tour as expected, with some shortcommings on the boat due to very few passangers.

We have booked more day trips, tours and transfers than I can remember with Viator and so far all have gone like clock work, this one included. The cruise is a must as you get to see much of the country side along with tours off the ship and at the end of the day thank god for the pool and bar, it can be hot here. The feel of the ship is classical and very clean, well serviced and good food. Had a great time.

My son and I highly recommend a Nile Cruise. It's the best way to see many of the sights in a relaxing way. Traveling can be a hassle in Egypt and this tour avoided many of those. Plenty of time to relax on the boat, to swim, etc. The boat of the local contact was only about 1/4 occupied and our tour only had 4 people so we got a lot of personal attention. Food was great and we ate too much. September, though hot, is a great time to visit Egypt, i.e. many fewer people. At some places we were the only visitors. The guide was very informative, but not overbearing. We highly recommend this trip. The only thing that was a little different than expected is that it is really only 2 days of actually cruising the Nile. Two of the 4 nights are spent in port (Luxor and Aswan), but it includes tours to sights in both of those places. A 3 day cruise would spend just as much time on the river but you would have to visit key Luxor and Aswan sights on your own. There were several extras that we hadn't expected, e.g. a carriage ride in Edfu and a Felluca ride in Aswan, all covered in the package. We were very satisfied.

The crusie itself was amazing. The daily sight seeing involves a lot of walking, though most of the transportantion is air conditioned vehicles, you do travel using horse and carriage. The food and service onboard the ship is amazing, and the evening entertainment is fantastic. The only minus point is that the ship don't provide any complementry drinks. You are also expected to tip at the end of the cruise roughly 25 LE pp each day the same goes with your tour guide. Overall it is a lovely experience for both old and young.

the cruise boat is more of a 3 star than five, but the excursions are excellent with knowledgable and freindly personal tour guide (request Elijah - by far the best) I would recommend flying into Luxor and straight on to the cruise boat for 7 nights then fly home as the towns in egypt are dirty ,dusty full of flies and non-stop hassle. Take all the additional excursions on the cruise especially ABU SIMBEL. nothing to do in the towns in the evening and food is generally poor although 4 and 5 star hotels are of a good standard.

Having a private tour guide is a great idea due to schedule was quite flexible. However, the food on boat was too simple and almost duplicate everyday which lowers down the tour value quite a lot.

Excellent trip - good tour guide, nice to have such personal attention. Boat looking tired in a number of areas and had a horrible experience of the drain in our cabin bathroom, but we would recommend this trip!

Packed full of interesting tours while at the same time plenty of time to relax and enjoy the cruise. Food was great with plenty of dishes to choose at each meal and plenty of variety across meals. We had a dedicated guide for the 2 of us so we could see as much or as little as we wanted and vary our program to suit and our guide helped us with our extras like train tickets and finding ATM and pharmacy. Cruise staff helpful and friendly.

It was a fantastic trip that we had wanted to make for many years. The monuments of Upper Egypt are definitely worth seeing. We went at Easter and at that time of year there are hordes of tourists like us! But it was still great. The boat was very nice and food better than expected. The local travel company was very correct and reliable in its dealings with us.

The highlight of my trip to Egypt. The boat is lovely, bathroom was cute. We had some fuel smell at our end of the corridor--probably close to the boat's tank. The guide we got had a strong accent and spoke pretty fast, so it was tough to follow. For a 40 minute site, the guide suggested 20 minutes and for a 20 minute viewing site he suggested 20 minutes. It did feel rushed. Basically our guide spoke about the monuments and then waited for us outside. Experience on the boat was nice. The housekeeping guy was extra nice. He made some craft out of folded towels and we ended up taking some photos together. The boat and our guide arranged a surprise birthday greeting during dinner for us. The waiters forgot to cut our cake and we ended up doing all the work as we shared our cake with other nearby tables. The entertainment and musicians were good, belly dancer was just ok. Be prepared for the expensive big bottle of water, 15 Egyptian pounds, but usual price is 3 pounds on the street and shops. Be prepared to pay tips at the end of the cruise for the boat service. Our guide told us to tip in Egyptian pounds, 15 pounds for each day. Others from other tour groups were paying 7 USD instead...something a little fishy. They also had an on site photographer for 1 night during the galebeya party; he took very excellent photos, which he sold the next day. On the deck they had afternoon tea. They played some background Egyptian tunes while we sailed and watched the sun go down. Overall a fantastic experience, hope you get a great guide.

This was a relaxing trip, especially after being in Cairo for a week. Every thing was well organized, although early mornings were a bit of a bummer for me. Our guide was great, and the boat staff was nice. You still need to tip, so this isn't "all inclusive" in that sense about 300 pounds in total. Drinks were expensive on the boat, so we bought a case of beer before getting there, and there was a fridge in our room. Food was good. Pool table and swimming pool were both pleasant.

We had a great time during our 5 day Nile cruise on board the Al Kahila. The boat was luxurious, and service as well as food was great. The sightseeing trips were well planned and interesting, and our guide was very knowledgeable in the history, culture and beliefs of both ancient and modern Egypt. The local agency was also helpful in arranging other fair priced sightseeing trips outside the itinerary of this package. Plan for some extra days before the cruise in Luxor to also see Abydos, Dendera and Valley of the Queens, and also extra days afterwards to see Abu Simbel, the Nubian Museum, etc. I hope that you will also have an unforgettable time!

Price was great, ship great, room was outstanding, definitely a surprise. People are extremely nice and service was very good. Food was not perfect. What was really lousy were the excursions! We had only a few and very short. The guide was extremely nice and sweet but we did not get much information. We feel like we missed a lot and there were several sights that weren't on the schedule. It is worth for the price.
