Take a half-day private tour with a qualified Egyptologist guide exploring the East Bank of Luxor. You'll see two of the most impressive temples in Upper Egypt - Karnak and Luxor, while learning about ancient Egyptian history from your own personal guide.
Start your day with a visit to the Temples of Karnak. Walk along the Avenue of Sphinx to enter the complex as your guide explains how the massive facade was constructed. On entering the Temples of Karnak you will see each legacy left by the various pharaohs as the complex grew even larger. The deeper you go into the complex, the further back in time you will travel, with the oldest ruins dating back over 3,000 years.
Walking through the Great Court into the Great Hypostyle Hall, it's hard not to be overwhelmed by the 134 columns towering above you like an ancient forest. At the rear of the complex you will find the sacred lake where centuries ago pharaohs and their offerings to the gods were purified. After a tour of the complex, you will have additional free time to explore at leisure.
Continue to Luxor Temple which was once joined to the Temples of Karnak by a two-kilometer long Avenue of Sphinx, a portion of which marks the entrance to the temple. Dominated by statues of the great warrior pharaoh Ramses II, Luxor Temple has survived Nile floods, foreign invasion and thousands of years exposed to the elements.
A pure Egyptian temple, the inner walls and columns are decorated with intricate hieroglyphics which your guide will help you decipher. Find out how Alexander the Great wrote himself into Luxor Temple's history, and see one of the original pair of obelisk, the second of which now stands on the Place de la Concorde in Paris.
This is a private tour allowing you to determine the amount of time spent at each of the temples during the tour.
Yes! A visit to Egypt is not complete if you don't experience Luxor and Karnak. There is so much important history there, it's hard to take it all in. I'd recommend reading up about these temples just a bit so you can better understand what the knowledgeable guide tells you. Since so many pharaohs built here, you may want to ask your guide to spend more time in a certain area. Incredibly cool! I definitely recommend taking this tour.

An excellent way to spend half the day touring these two temples. Karnak is an incredible complex, taking 2000 years to build, with many great stories inside on how things worked there. Luxor temple was also very interesting, even though there are a some very interesting architectural mistakes worth seeing. Must see places in Luxor, very well worth the visit!

We have booked the afternoon tour to Karnak and Luxor temples. We were picked up from our hotel in Luxor by our guide, a vibrant young man, baseem, who explained the history of these temples in great detail._br/_ The vast courtyards, the huge pillars of the great halls with intricate carvings on them, the statuesof Ramses ll, the rows of Sphinxes at entrance of Luxor temple impressed us very much. We gaped in wonder how the people of ancient Egypt constructed those Hypostyle hall with huge columns._br/_ All in all, our journey throughly these temples became lively with the help of our guide as he had a great knowledge of the history of ancient Egypt._br/_ I would recommend everyone to visit these places or the tour of Egypt will remain incomplete.

It looks like this Sinai travel Company does not pay its guides and drivers well. There is is tremendous pressure on you to make up to your guide and driver with gratuities. The quality of guide was average. Not a pleasant experience at all._br/_ Overall, I would not recommend this tour company.

I think Karnak temple is one of the most amazing sites in the world equal only to the Mayan ruins in Copan. I preferred Karnack temple to Luxor - it is a very special place with amazing energy.

Our tour guide was just okay. I felt that she was a little more than a supplement to a good guide book and little research. Both the East and West Bank of Luxor are very easy to tour on your own. I wish we had saved the money and just hired a cab to take us to the temples like we did on our second day when we saw the west bank.

Again the tour guide was very good and the tour company very reliable. The tour gives an excellent overview of the temples and their art and history. Since the temples are close by, it is easy to go back alone and explore further having been given a solid background.
