This private tour is a storytelling visit of Croix-Rousse Hill in Lyon and its passageways or "traboules". You will follow the adventures of Jirôme Roquet, a silk weaver and his apprentice Tony, both involved in the dangerous "canuts rebellion". The story is narrated by a professional actor-guide.

Your professional actor-guide will take you through the little streets and traboules (passageways) of Croix-Rousse telling you the story of Jirôme Roquet and his apprentice "Tony le grand Gognant" (Simple Tony). On the morning of the first "canuts" rebellion, they got caught in a terrible dilemma, the great strike had begun and they had to make a decision. Follow their adventures between tiny passages, barricades and the fear of the soldiers of the national guard.

Discover the Croix-Rousse in a whole new way as the story leads you through the small streets and traboules of Lyon. The tour also runs during the famous Fete des Lumieres (Light Festival) in Lyon which takes place for a few weeks in December every year.

Our story telling tour was a great experience and a wonderful way of getting to know Lyon. Our guide, Cybèle was very knowledgeable about the Silk trade and how it developed over the years. I would recommend this tour to any one who wants to do something different. It also takes you to places you would not see in a normal tour.
