4-Day Spain Tour: Cordoba, Seville, and Granada from Madrid

Madrid, Spain

Visit Andalusia’s most famous cities — Cordoba, Seville, and Granada — on a 4-day immersion in the home of flamenco, tapas, and Andalusian culture. You’ll travel from Madrid to Cordoba to stroll through cobbled lanes in the city’s Jewish quarter, then spend two nights in Seville, the birthplace of flamenco. Admire Granada’s Moorish architecture at the World Heritage-listed Alhambra, and take a walk through the medieval walled city of Toledo. This comprehensive tour highlights the essential attractions of Andalusian Spain in four days, with 4-star hotel accommodation for all three nights. Please note: Entrance to the Alhambra is not guaranteed due to high demand.

Day 1: Madrid — Cordoba — Seville (D)
Your tour begins with a morning departure from Madrid to Cordoba, as your luxury coach takes you through the legendary countryside depicted in Don Quixote, the Man from La Mancha. After lunch (own expense), take a tour of Cordoba to discover the city’s mix of Jewish and Arab culture. Admire Cordoba’s medieval architecture, with its whitewashed courtyards, alleys and squares. Leaving Cordoba, continue to Seville for dinner and your accommodation.

Overnight: Catalonia Santa Justa or Melia Lebreros in Seville

Day 2: Seville (B, D)
After breakfast, enjoy a morning tour of the beautiful city of Seville, including the cathedral (from outside), Santa Cruz quarter and Maria Luisa Gardens. Discover the hidden secrets of this lively city built on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, with its rich Arab legacy and colorful local districts such as Triana and La Macarena.

Spend the afternoon exploring Seville at your leisure, before returning to your hotel for dinner. In the evening, stroll along the riverside promenade, visit one of the city’s legendary bars or experience the drama and passion of flamenco at a Seville flamenco show (optional extra).

Overnight: same as previous night

Day 3: Granada — Alhambra — Generalife Gardens (B, D)
After breakfast at your hotel, relax on board your luxury coach during the scenic drive along the historic Caliphate road to Granada. In this legendary city renowned for its amazing Moorish architecture, take a guided tour of the World Heritage-listed Alhambra and Generalife Gardens, one of Andalusia's special highlights. In the mosaic-tiled and landscaped gardens of the Alhambra, discover the culture and history of Spain’s Moorish rulers and admire their exotic architectural legacy. After dinner at your hotel, spend the evening at your leisure or watch a Gypsy Zambra flamenco show in Granada’s Gypsy quarter, Sacromonte (optional extra). Please note that entrance to the Alhambra depends on availability.

Overnight: Hotel Los Angeles or Melia Granada Hotel in Granada

Day 4: Granada — Toledo Madrid (B)
Following breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a scenic coach ride to the World Heritage-listed imperial city of Toledo. Discover the city’s multicultural layering of Christian, Moorish and Jewish culture, and well-preserved medieval architecture. After lunch (own expense), take a guided walk into the past along Toledo’s cobblestone alleyways and enjoy a tour of the city’s monuments and landmarks. During the tour, hear about the work of baroque artist El Greco in Toledo, and see examples of Toledo’s signature Damasquinado metalwork, delicately etched with gold. Departing Toledo in the afternoon, relax on the return drive to Madrid, where your tour ends.

Great tour! Everything was very fast but was expected. Would have liked to stay longer in Toledo and Cordova. Will have to go back some day. Guide and driver kept us comfortable. We chose the average hotels and they were great. Thought we would be the only ones to save money but more than half chose the economical hotels. The Granada hotel was my favorite.

I love this tour, it's packed with so much activities. It's a bigger tour and had a few bumps with other fellow tourists. There were some problem with the seating arrangements inside the bus and passengers were arguing. My recommendation would be from the on set, the guide should tell the passengers regarding seating arrangements. Our guide did her best to calm everyone down. Overall, worth the money you spent, made a few friends and visited a lot of places. The local guide Sergio who took us on our Granada tour was awesome. Very knowledgeable and very accommodating with his answers to our questions. I also love the Toledo tour, thought it was an awesome place to visit again.

Our trip was really full on and extremely exciting so much history and not forgetting the architecture in Seville, Madrid - amazingly incredible and wonderful. So much to see and not enough time. You cannot go to Seville and not check out the flamingo dance. I have enjoyed it so much i wanted more. Have to go again ...Our tour guide was extremely helpful and fully informative on every bit of the tour, she was such fun too! I really enjoy the tour and had an extremely great time. I would highly recommend it.

This tour is really value for money and you really get to see a lot within 4 days. There were optional add ons as well for those who wanted to see more. My only gripe are the hotels which were advertised as 4 stars but are really 2 at best. Do yourself a favour and upgrade!

Itinerary covered a lot of ground and our guide Grace did a good job. Driver Antonio? was very good_br/_ The hotel in Seville was Melia Lebreros. Quite OK_br/_ The second hotel in Granada Melia Granada fell short in the buffet dinner. Empty trays were not refilled and not much food for vegetarians. Long queues at Coffee machines require during breakfast. _br/_ Word of warning is the bus drop off point upon return to Madrid was not the same as pick up point and there was no prior notice of this. Caused quite a lot of confusion and stress for those of us who are not familiar with the city and had to scramble to find our way to our hotel

This tour was very well organized and we got to see the cathedral in Córdoba and the Alhambra in Granada. Both must see places. The only negative was the restaurant stop off he highway on the way back this should be removed from the itinerary.

Never having taken a bus tour before I was a bit dubious, but we really enjoyed it. It was nice to not to plan every last detail. We didn't have a lot of standing around waiting on others time. We saw some amazing places, many I doubt I would have otherwise seen.

From what I can tell, the four star hotels and their breakfast and dinner buffets were quite above the three star hotels for those who stayed there. If you don't rent a car and drive it all, this is the best way to go, everything including getting tickets to palaces, etc., is done for you. The guide, Grace, was great! I would pay more to be picked up from my hotel and delivered to my hotel. This was annoying. We were dumped down on the Grand Via, with four bags of luggage to try to make it to our hotel after the trip. After such great service on the trip, this was annoying. I would do this trip again, it was great, though my wife thinks there was not enough time for shopping. You can't do it all.

It was pretty good. The guide and the driver are professional and competent. It would have deserved 4.5 had we not been told to leave the coach at the end of the tour in the middle of a busy street that we have no idea of our whereabout. The guide made no explanation of the rationale and lots of members of the tour were very unhappy. Don't know if It was the decision by Julia Travels or the guide. We were fortunate that we could make our way back to the hotel but I would expect a lot others took a lot more troubles before succeeding. I think Viator should look into the matter and give us a good explanation.

An amazing 4 days, the tour guide was professional, the driver was wonderful, made us feel totally safe . The choice of hotels in the deluxe category outdid our expectations. The included meals were great with lots of choices. We saw so much in such a short time with experienced local guides whose knowledge was outstanding. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for an overview of these places.

It was my very first time doing this and it was great. The hotels exceeded our expectations. The bus was nice, clean and very comfy. The only thing, is that I was quickly over seeing empty castles and gardens. Wish some tours would be focus on other areas of the cities. However, I would totally recommend this to anyone and I would totally do it again! Very Satisfied.

The tour was excellent. Melia Hotels are lovely. Great swimming pool in Seville but the food wasn't very good. No pool in Granada, but the food was delicious. The bus was comfortable. I would have liked a bathroom on the bus. Choice of attractions was very good and the guides were all fine. Balance between structured and free time was perfect. Our party of four two senior citizens and two young women had a wonderful time.

The Accommodation, breakfast, and dinner is good. Seeing most sightseeing we expected. But the optional tour is very disappointment. The guide her name is Grace did not provide detail about the optional tour, she just passed a hand write paper of 4 tours and price around the bus when the bus left Madrid, there is no tour time duration and place, she was so impatient when people asked about the tours. She gave a long face if you did not chose the optional tour. _br/_ There are 4 days lunch on your own. All of them were on the service place by the highway road. The last lunch was at a restaurant by the load to Toledo, it only ten minutes from the city of Toledo. We were very disappointed that we did not have chance to enjoy those local food at the Toledo. _br/_ Grace is not kind person. one of the lady in our tour got stomach problem after the lunch at the restaurant which arranged by grace, the lady asked Grace to stop let her to get off and hurry to have toilet, but Grace did not. After 10 minutes drive, the bus stopped for a sightseeing, but it was too late, this poor lady already got messing of her clothing, then all of us have to spent extra 30 minutes to wait this poor lay to find her clean clothes and find a restaurant to clean and change.

The tour was fantastic, except one thing the hotel.in Granada._br/_ The air-conditioning system and refrigerator in our hotel room Hotel Los Angelles in Granada were almost not working under the hot weather.reaching 40 centigrade. We had changed our room once, but the condition was same, and the receptionist said all the rooms are the same. The condtion didn't get better all through the night. We recommend you to change the hotel in Granada.

Andalucía is a wonderful region to visit. Córdoba, Sevilla and Granada were amazingly beautiful, like outdoor museums. Córdoba definitely deserved more than a couple of hours. We got the optional boat ride and flamenco show in Sevilla, and we feel they were well worth it. In Granada we got the optional tour of the Albaycin neighborhood, and it was worth it too, but the guide should have told the group in advance about all the dog droppings we were going to have to dodge on the walk. I paid for superior 4 star hotels, and our room in the the hotel in Sevilla was run down and too warm. The breakfast buffet and the buffet dinners were average, the service at dinner time was not pleasant. In Granada, same story, our hotel room was run down, too warm and had a peculiar odor. The breakfast buffet was average. Our guide was Margarita, she was very knowledgeable. We did not enjoy stopping along the highway for lunch, a little detour into a town with some choices would have been nicer, I mean we were vacationing in Europe not on a routine long distance drive! The bus was not comfortable either for such long drives.

I bought the Tour with NOT TOLEDO included. But The Tour was with Toledo.! So, I have to went in Toledo for 2nd time because they did not give me the Tour I bought. The Driver of the Bus was disrespectful since the first day._br/_ Only bad things about the operator of this tour. _br/_ The telephone for urgency that is in my confirmation was not answered on time, for that I had to paid a Train Ticket EU95 to meet the tour in Sevilla. In Madrid was a Fire on a Building that closed the streets, and the Driver of the Taxi helped me with his Cellphone to call Julia Travels to let they known about the problem on the streets. I have to be at 8.30 am, but for this streets blocked, I was there at 8:42 am._br/_ The next day the TV News showed the Fire and the chaos on the Traffic, than proven my words._br/_ If they answer the telephone they can wait for me 15 minutes._br/_ This Company does not care about you.

I could not have seen as much of Andalusia on my own as I did with this 4 day tour. The tour director Gracia was excellent. She handled her duties professionally and with humor. The hotels where we stayed, Melia Lebreros in Sevilla and Melia Granada, were excellent. The included breakfasts and dinners were buffets except for the first night in Sevilla. The food was very good. Lunches were at our own expense. Locals guides led the tours of the historic center and Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, of the historic center of Sevilla and at the Alhambra in Granada. All the local guides were very informative. We were given adequate free time in Sevilla and Granada. Visits to the Alcazar and the Cathedral in Sevilla were not included in the tour program, but there was enough free time that I was able to visit both sites on my own at a leisurely pace. I have never taken an organized tour like this before, but I enjoyed it very much. It was nice to have all the arrangements taken care of for me. The value for the money was excellent when you figure it included transportation, hotels, admission to attractions, the services of local guides and most meals. Julia Travel offered optional excursions at additional cost to a flamenco show in Sevilla, a one-hour river cruise cruise in Sevilla and a gypsy flamenco show in Granada. The flamenco show in Sevilla was very professional. It included a free drink of your choice, and it was very enjoyable. I would not recommend either the river cruise in Sevilla or the gypsy flamenco show in Granada. I befriended several people on the tour, and I enjoyed their company at meals and during our tours. I saw some amazing sights on this trip, and I would highly recommend this 4 day Andalusia tour.

M - the overall tour guide for the 4 day tour was ok. But the entire group was TOO bid - 80 persons and coordination became_br/_ a bit difficult when two groups stayed in 2 hotels. She should also paused, say 5 minutes, between her narration: I had to listen to her for two hours , non-stop, from Madrid to the first village. She should also know that many tourists are very well informed: she was not very accurate about the production of Sherry in Spain - failed to mention the town of Jerez. _br/_ Cordoba local guide was good: well paced tour of the Mosque. Sevilla local guide was knowledgeble but exudes an air of hubris. Local guide in Alhambra, Ester, narrated the tour like a tape recorder, unmindful of 30-35 people following her. It was too fast and most of us did not have time to digest her narration and take pictures. When asked to pause after more than a hour of walking through very hot weather, she just said again? Local guide, Grace, was the most well-paced. Talked slowly and informs us there will be a proper time and place to pause for pictures and breaks.

I just got back from this tour and almost everyone on this trip was disappointed. Julia Travel was the provider, and we had Lalle as our guide. Trip was so disorganized and thru the entire time with her she never gave us any history, or color on where we were going or on Spain. All she did was try to sell us all the optional packages that were not included in the tour. To make things even more complicated 50 were not even possible with our schedule. A lot of us got so fed up we went on our own to explore and with much less of a price she offered. I chose the superior hotels and as a single paid the supplement....but had to change rooms as put outside a motorcycle parking etc. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED! Lalle was never clear on what we were doing, times etc. Luckily, we had local guides when we arrived at each destination otherwise the trip would have been a disaster. I would not recommend using Julia Travel for this excursion and if Viator which is now Trip Advisors only offers them....GO ELSEWHERE! I am writing this bad review as so many of us booked this trip due to good reviews which on our trip no one could understand. I travel a lot so trust me when I say this was one of the worse bus trips I have ever had.

This was a fabulous tour out of Madrid. We could not easily have done this itinerary independently. It was actually my first Viator experience and it made me a loyal Viator customer after that. Really an amazing and full itinerary without being exhausting. You see everything that is important to see and you have plenty of free time. Hotels were very nice and centrally located so that your free time was easily used. Tour guides were outstanding. An unforgettable trip.

Overall it was a good tour. The driver and the guide were seasoned. The selection of places for lunch on the way could have been better. The tour in Seville did not cover the cathedral and the palace. Instead half of the day was given for optional tour of the river. Gypsy dance was another optional tour but was not worth the time and the money. Toledo trip was rushed. The guides often explained in more spanish than in english. The arrival back in Madrid was not well coordinated. Although we were at the drop off point, we were not dropped off but went as a group to drop off one party at a hotel and got stuck in traffic which took for ever and were dropped off elsewhere than originally planned.

When we arrived to start the tour Julia Travel even though we were on time, we were greeted with about time you got here, you are the last to arrive. The audio system on the bus didn't have a particularly good speaker system compounded by someone who talked very loudly. We were a group of 22 people and we were split between two hotels depending on which room option you chose. When you bought the tour, it was not clear that the hotels could be miles apart taking up time away from the trip as well as preventing making new friends. On several occasions, the guide asked us to be back at a meeting point by a specific time and she showed up late. We did enjoy the area we visited and the sites we saw but ended up glad this was only a 4 day tour.

My feedback is for for Viator but for the local tour operator - Julia Travel. It starts pathetically on the very 1st morning when all passengers in the bus realise that its Open seating. We already had all the window seats occupied, which now meant My wife, my 7 year old son and me spent the next 4 days sitting away from each other. The tour guide doesn't intervene and says that he is just a freelancer and I should speak directly to the tour operator._br/_ Next, the bus itself is very uncomfortable and me being only 5.7 ft just fit into the seat as there is no leg room. Anyone taller than this will really struggle to fit._br/_ We had upgraded to 4 stars and the location and choice of hotels were good. The guided tours of Cordoba, Al Hambra and Sevelle were also good. _br/_ Day 4 is a complete waste. Lots of travel and not sufficient time to spend in Toledo as too much time spent in changes busses since passengers going to Barcelona need to do so._br/_ Overall, I would not recommend this tour

I think we were just unlucky to have a group of very obnoxious travellers on our trip. My partner and I had to sit apart for the first day of bus touring because solo travellers refused to move. This same thing happened when a mother and son were split up the following day. We enjoyed a lot of the sights but found the extra activities sometimes over priced. The itinerary was hard work with very early starts at times and depending on activities coming home after midnight.

It's so great to travel with so many people from different countries, and it was really a great experience for us. The whole tour was very well organized. Famous cities we saw, like Cordova, Saville, Granada and Toledo were just amazing. Our guide Hugo and all the local guides in different cities were very knowledgeable and tried their best to care about us and help us to know history of each places more. Also, 49 passengers on the trip, who came from many countries and different walks of life were really very friendly and interesting. We, surely would recommend this tour to any traveler, planning to visit Spain.

I am glad I booked this trip. It was a great way to tour the South of Spain and hit the high spots without making all my own travel and hotel arrangements and standing in line for entrance tickets. It was a large group at least at first, with a need for English and Spanish commentary, and I agree with other reviewers that this was annoying but necessary. After some guests broke away on day 2 there was only 1 Spanish speaking couple left, who graciously agreed to just English, and that was better. Our tour guide Grace did a great job herding people around, getting everybody into hotel rooms, and gave a wonderful tour of Toledo on the last day. The other local tour guides were also very good. It did seem a shame that the food wasn't more authentic and local, but I know that they have to consider offering choices for everybody on the trip, and the Spanish Abades highway services do make their US equivalents usually a Burger King and Starbucks look like a pile of puke. We missed hotel dinners once or twice to explore some local cuisine on our own. Our driver, Jesus, was great, and negotiated some tight corners and tiny spaces with that bus! The kids would have appreciated Wifi on the bus apparently switched off for out tour. Other than that, only 2 major criticisms: There was some weirdness over extra optional tours - Grace was a little obsessed about offering these, and also collecting the money in cash - making me think this was a scam. If they're legit, let's hear about them up front, and book them at the time of the initial reservation. I thought she put some unfair pressure on a couple of guests .... You have to pay...... Secondly, we were hijacked at a jewelry store in Toledo for over an hour, and I thought that was disgraceful - I am sure Julia travel gets some kind of a kick back from this place, and I really resented the time wasted locked in that sales room when I could have been exploring a beautiful city on my own.

I am unsure what the other travelers liked about this tour, but apart from the convenience of having transportation, there is really nothing great about this experience. Organizational skills of this operator are lacking to say the least. We have arrived right on time for our departure early in the morning, only to sit in the suffocating garage for nearly an hour. If that wasn't enough, every guided trip was delayed because of the group's incapability to show up on time to the bus. Janet did very little to make a point of showing up on time no matter how late people'd come, the bus would still be waiting for them. It was very unfair and frankly rude to us people who showed up on time. Be prepared to spend at least 1 - 1.5 hours a day just waiting for the group to gather and get moving._br/_ The guided tours in the cities were just OK, the guides for the most part seemed bored and disinterested. The only exception was our guide in Toledo, who we really liked._br/_ Hotel Los Angeles is a disgrace of a hotel and we actually complained to Julia Travel about it. This hotel should not be offered as part of this package. First of all, the staff were rude to say the least, it seemed like it was a big effort for the concierge to give you any information and the bartender was plain rude. The concierge also gave me the wrong directions on the map, which I luckily caught thanks to the Google maps. The hotel itself smelled of public washrooms in the room and in the halls. Half of the light fixtures were broken and the fridge wasn't working either. Breakfast items were cold even though we went first thing in the morning, they were probably cooked a day before. Dinner we skipped so cannot comment on the quality._br/_ Granada's tour was a disaster: late departure, questionable ticket process, wrong tickets and being denied admission, and a bored guide not getting us into a part of Alhmabra that got many people angry. By the way, Alhambra is on the morning of the 4th day not 3rd as is listed.

It's so great to travel with so many people from different countries, and it's really a good experience for me. The guide and all local guides in different cities tried their best to care about us and help us to know each places more. It's not very easy to go to those cities by trains or buses by yourselves as you can not control the traffic time easily and you have to take a lot of time to buy tickets in different sites, so I think that it's worthy to join the tour and just enjoy the journey.
