Panoramic Madrid Sightseeing Tour

Madrid, Spain

Explore the Madrid’s top sights on this 2.5-hour sightseeing tour. Traveling by air-conditioned coach, admire showstopper attractions such as the Royal Palace of Madrid, Alcalá Gate (Puerta de Alcalá) and Cybele's Fountain (Fuente de la Cibeles). Cruise along beautiful boulevards to the ancient city squares of Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa. Discover diverse districts such as the Barrio de la Morería, and learn of their history from your guide. This morning or afternoon tour is perfect for first-time visitors as it offers a well-rounded introduction to the city's sights.

Choose from a morning or afternoon city sightseeing tour, then head to the Plaza de España in central Madrid to meet your guide and hop aboard your air-conditioned coach. The capital of Spain, Madrid boasts a wealth of fascinating culture and heritage with new discoveries waiting round every corner.
Head through the Barrio de la Morería and gain insight into the city’s medieval origins. Listen as your guide describes the Royal Alcazar of Madrid — an ancient Arabic fortress — and admire the imposing façade of the Royal Palace of Madrid. In Madrid Rio, cruise from Puente del Rey to Puente de Segovia and take in top city sights along the way.
Hop out of your coach to admire Baroque and Renaissance architecture up close in impressive town squares such as Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa — once frequented by the regal King Philip II of Spain in the 16th century. Take in top city attractions such as the famous Cybele's Fountain (Fuente de la Cibeles) — widely considered among Madrid's most significant symbols — and the magnificent neoclassical Alcalá Gate (Puerta de Alcalá).
Travel down Gran Vía and Paseo de la Castellana to Barrio Salamanca to gain insight into the modern Madrid of today. See the imposing Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and marvel at the impressive Las Ventas — considered by many to be the home of traditional Spanish bullfighting.
Continue on to Plaza de Colón and alight from your coach before heading on foot to Madrid’s famous Hard Rock Cafe for an included drink. After 2.5 hours exploring the top city attractions of the Spanish capital, head back to your starting point to conclude your tour.

Had expected to see more, Mostly disappointed as everything shown was on the left side of the bus and we were on the right.

If you want quick overview of Madrid in less than 3 hours this will do, but just had a feeling we were missing some key sights. Tour guide was good and #39; and #39; but the English speakers seemed to get the short end of the conversations several times.

We arrived thirty minutes late for this tour. The Travel agency arranged for us to join the tour as the bus was proceeding slowly through Madrid's holiday traffic at 345pm Sunday. We met the bus about 10 minutes walk from the our original meeting place and as the group was just coming back from a trip to the Mercado de San Miguel. The travel guide was good and was providing the tour in Spanish and in English. We made two fifteen minute stops at the Columbus plaza and at the Bullfight stadium for pictures if you wanted to do so. She would point out the Prado, and the other significant buildings. She pointed out the reason for the Sunday traffic, being the beginning of the long holiday season for the locals beginning with the Feast of the Immaculate COnception and then Christmas. It was early December and the day is short and by 5:00 one can hardly see the buildings but we stayed in the street longer until they turned the Holidays lights on in the streets and in the Plazas._br/_ The bus was luxurious and well appointed. Maybe the experience would have been different if we had come earlier to start the tour at the Royal Palace. We should have joined the 11 am tour. Traffic would have been less and we would have had better views.

Disappointed with Julia's Travel guide on this afternoon tour. Although it was a rainy Friday afternoon, and we saw everything as indicated on the tour, she made no effort to make our group's experience a positive one. We were dropped off to fend of ourselves during a 15 minute break to find a coffee and washroom and then when we all returned punctually at the bus, the driver and our guide were no were to be found. Fortunately, we had a fabulous guide from Julia's Travel on another tour the next day!

In this tour, you will probably be traveling with other groups. You may feel it to be disjointed, especially if it's being given in 3 languages simultaneously. But overall, you will learn interesting facts about the current state of Madrid.

Ok way to see the city, but nothing special

We expected the tour guide could talk more about the city instead of just the names of the places.

In general it's a good tour, especially because of the guide._br/_ However, the stop at the end is totally useless and a waste of time. People who really wants to go at the Hard Rock Cafe can go on their own, it should not be part of the tour.

The GUIs was great and the tour but we didn't realise there was a fair bit of walking involved and I Karen do suffer with bad knee so I thought that part didn't suit me but overall, well worth it.

This was ok. I thought it would be an open bus. We did a couple of stops. I don't think I'd do this particular tour again. I liked the hop on/off tour better.

Tried to reschedule after airline mechanical problems resulted in a 12 hour delay. Called US Viator to notify about problem. Told to call vendor on arrival. Vendor said, Talk to Viator then hung up. Viator International had us on hold for 5 minutes and then disconnected, TWICE. We ended up using a Hop-on-Hop-off bus tour instead.

We went on the 9:00 am tour on July 28, 2014. The tour guide, a middle aged woman with short dark hair and glasses was the rudest person I think I have ever encountered in my life. She was abrupt with guests and very brusque and irritated throughout the tour. She yelled at the driver and make an extremely rude comment about him over the PA system on the bus. The driver remained calm and professional throughout his ordeal with this woman. She made me feel unsafe as she yelled at the driver to go, go, go in Spanish and if a vehicle got in front of the bus and the driver had to slow down, she would slap the partition in front of her and yell something in Spanish. Back at the office, I spoke with a young man who seemed to know exactly what I was talking about with regard to this tour guide. However, when I asked to speak with a manager, a very nonchalant woman came over and had me fill in a form with my complaint about this guide and then told me I had to take the form to a government office downtown. I said this was not good enough and I wanted to know what the tour operator was going to do about my complaint. She said they would wait until they heard from the government office. We loved Madrid but this experience has created a less than savoury memory of our time there and this tour did not live up to all of the other experiences we have enjoyed over the years dealing with Viator. If this had been our only encounter with Viator, we would not use Viator again. We had come to depend on Viator for excellence.

Our tour guide was awful and it made the whole tour disappointing. We were rushed throughout and she continually scolded the bus drive. The bus driver (Fernan) was amazing. We complained at the local office.

Review by:   Sakura G,    June 2014 Review: 3 star rating: Worth doing
The guide was great but too much time was spent on the motorway. I understand that the streets in Madrid itself are very narrow so it's hard for the tour bus to get through but a bit more time around the centre of town would have been nice. Also, perhaps changing having a drink at the Hard Rock Cafe to a more local place would go down better with European/American tourists.

4 star because tour guide was informative with information about sights and places. Downside was refreshment at Hard Rock, not relevant to Spanish theme.

Loved the tour we saw so much of Madrid which would of been impossible in the two days that we were there, wasn't too keen on the tour guide she wasn't very friendly but we wasn't there for her, Madrid spoke for itself beautiful, enchanting, clean and magical will definetly return one day!!!

Waste of time to stop at Hard Rock Cafe. Tour seemed to be shortened as people could not stick to allotted free time.

Excellent introduction to Madrid with knowledgeable and helpful guides. WE got to see all the main tourist attractions with good insight into the history of this city. The walking tour of the central core including Plaza Mayor, tips on restaurants etc were most helpful. This was a morning tour and left us with the afternoon to return to the places we wanted to explore in more depth.

Very disappointing tour. The Viator website said this was a 3 hour tour but it was only 2 hours 25 minutes, including a 25 minute stop at the Hard Rock Cafe. Good glimpse into American pop history but strange choice for a tour of Madrid. The guide spoke good English but because there were no other stops or even any opportunities to photograph anything the tour became a little boring. The website advertised a walk through the old part of Madrid but there was no walk, we were on the bus the whole time. It kind of left the impression that there was nothing worth stopping for in this beautiful city. At the end we were dropped at a different part of Madrid to where the tour started and had to find our own way back to our hotel.

This was an OK tour to get around some of the sites. The tour guide spoke very broken English and often mixed her English and Spanish in one sentence. The tour stopped on a couple of occasions allowing those who wanted to take pictures. Hard to see many of the sites from a bus.

Review by:   Stephen S,    July 2013 Review: 3 star rating: Worth doing
The tour guide was knowledgeable about Madrid. However I would have preferred a different type of bus. The view from inside the bus was not that good and it was hard at times to see what the tour guide was describing. A double decker bus which, from the top of the bus, would have offered a more open view, would have been better.

Good tour. The guide only spoke two languages so you did not have to sit through a constant repetition of the narrative. It gave a good over view of the city while not tying up an entire day. I would recommend this tour for travelers with limited time wanting an overview of the sights of Madrid.

Our guide was boring. We only drive around the city. Not one single stop to get out to take pictures. It is impossible to get a good look of the sites and buildings from the bus window. It was a total waste of time.

Was good. Guide was informative and spoke multiple languages. There is so much to see in Madrid so this is just a cursory look. If you have time do the Hop On / Hop Off.
