Morocco Day Trip from Malaga to Tangier

Malaga, Spain

Experience the magic of Morocco on a day trip to Tangier from Malaga. It may lie just across the Mediterranean Sea from Spain, but the exotic North African country of Morocco feels like a world away! Your full-day adventure includes a Moroccan lunch with a Berber dance performance, a walking tour of the souk, medina and kasbah, shopping at a Tangier bazaar, and round-trip ferry transfers – it’s the ultimate value for a day in Morocco.

Your day trip to Tangier begins with a scenic drive from Malaga to the southern tip of Spain. Then board a high-speed ferry to travel across the Strait of Gibraltar to Morocco (45 to 60 minutes), where your journey will continue to the exciting Moroccan city of Tangier on a comfortable, air-conditioned coach.

Your tour of Tangier starts with a panoramic sightseeing tour of the city, followed by a walking tour of the little souk, the medina (old quarter) and the kasbah (old fortress). Discover Morocco’s rich architecture, browse the spice markets, stop to see the snake charmer and visit one of the local bakeries to try some tasty bread (own expense).

Then enjoy shopping at a typical bazaar, where you’ll see many types of carpets and handicrafts. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, and feast on traditional Moroccan food like couscous, tagine and other local delicacies. Be entertained with a performance by a Berber dancer.

After lunch, make a short stop at Cape Spartel, where you can see the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea mix together, and then enjoy a sample of traditional mint tea and learn about the mint tea rituals. Next, stop by the white sand dunes that border the Atlantic. Here you have the option to ride a camel (own expense)! Alternatively, enjoy free time to explore the beautiful area.

On your way back to the ferry, take in views of the Moroccan landscape, and then relax on the comfortable coach ride from the Spain port back to Malaga.

Please note: The itinerary and schedule of this trip are subject to change from December to April due to ferry's timetables and the Ramadan holiday.

I loved this experience and got to check off another continent with Africa. Only Antarctica left to step foot on. My only piece of valuable advise is to not let the trip from Malaga fool you. My hotel was in Marabella and took a 70 Euro taxi ride to the pickup location in Malaga to only find out that the Coach could have picked me up only 400 meters from the hotel door. I only needed to call ahead to make a reservation for my pickup. As a result, the Coach took 90 minutes, one way longer than needed for my tour. Advice: CALL AHEAD for PICK UP LOCATION!

This is the tour I was looking forward to the most, I guess I set myself up to be disappointed. If you love standing in countless amount of lines for hours, THIS is your tour. It is VERY structured. We literally had 20 min of free time the entire time in Morocco. We were picked up at 5:30am and returned back at 11:30pm lunch only is included so pack snacks. The tour takes you to THEIR vendors so youre forced to sit through a rug and spice demonstration 30 min each Time Id much rather spend seeing other parts of the city. The vendors are RIDICULOUSLY aggressive, but still friendly. I was happy to see Morocco, but Id look for a more relaxed way to do it.

This was a good experience walking through the small streets but they forced you into kickback stores where the prices were not great. Additionally, the camel riding was in a parking lot and the camels looked sad and their knees looked injured from getting up and down for tourists.

This is nothing more than a long, boring con. Viator should be ashamed of themselves for putting this tour on their website.

A long day but well worth it. Got to see all the different quarters in Tangiers. Visited the Souks, Medina and Kasbah. Had traditional Moroccan lunch. Stopped for a camel ride. That was an experience! Both excellent guides, Frank in Spain and Hassan in Morocco both full of interesting information about the areas we went through and also the history. Had time to wander round at the end of the tour. Lots of walking. Would go again. If you are thinking of visiting Morocco/Tangier well worth taking a coach trip to introduce yourself to Africa. One of the best Day Trips I ever went on. Family-friendly. Our tour guides Frank for the whole journey and Samir in Morocco were excellent, very caring and spoke excellent English. Early morning pick up in Malaga. About 2 hours to get to Tarifa stopping at a few points to pick up some more passengers. Nice crossing on a ferry with beautiful blue seas and skies. A few queues expected then onto the Moroccan coach. Stop off for optional camel rides I bought some souvenirs here but the souvenirs like toy camels and fridge magnets are less expensive in the old city so wait and buy them there from the locals. There is then a walk through the old city to a nice lunch followed by time in a beautiful government-run carpet / pottery shop. I like oriental rugs - got a Berber rug for a bargain price and 2 vases. The vendors in the Shop are very pleasant and expect you to bargain, there were no hard sells and they were very polite even if you don't purchase. Massive choice of quality rugs, much more selection than online or in a shop in Europe or the US, and better prices. They come down over 50 in price and the bargaining was pleasant. Then off to a local herbalist where you can get more items Moroccan tea, Argan oil etc. The locals were all nice and helpful. Then back to Spain by coach, with views of the Straits of Gibraltar, the Rock of Gibraltar and Mount Musa in Morocco. You get a journey along the Costa del Sol en route to Malaga with views of many famous beaches. A journey to remember.

I would give 1.5 stars if I could. We were unaware that the bus trip would be 4 hours if you are getting picked up at the first pick up point. Thankfully we did not drink much water because they did not stop for any bathrooms or a quick break on the way there. When we got there at 930, the ferry ride at 10 was cancelled so we had to wait for the 12 o'clock ferry. We only spent a few hours in Morocco and the entire time people were running up trying to sell you stuff non stop. We were unable to stop in any shops we wanted to, only the one shop the tour guide takes you to where you are yet again, being bugged into buying things that are 15-30 euros more than the little shops around it that we were not able to stop at. We were not given anything for having a shorter trip in Morocco since the ferry was cancelled, was just told to wait two hours after being on the bus for four. Another person in our group was holding onto their book bag with it in front and the tour guide said oh no you do not need to be doing that...when multiple people are coming in your personal space trying to sell you things. If you do decide to do this trip, don't drink anything before the bus ride since they won't stop anywhere, bring a very small bag and keep it in front of you at all times since people pop up out of no where. Don't bother buying the hand made scarves at the rug place. They tried selling it to me for 40 euros lol when they were right outside for 5. Camel ride is not worth it, they take you in a little circle and they treat them horribly. Good luck if you are going there! It was nice to say that I've been to Africa....not sure if it was totally worth it. The lunch was delicious, I will say that!

The over all logistics were very good, with a lot of bang for the buck. There were two significant downsides. First, the, the tour leader was mediocre at best. It would have been helpful if she had some type of flag so that we could find her in crowded areas. Second, we felt trapped by two visits to pre-selected businesses, where we received extensive sales talks and were virtually stocked by sales a person while we waited for the tour to move on. We were also a bit disappointed that the bus tour showed us only the good parts of town. All in all, the trip was worth the money, and we recommend it.

THE ONLY THING THEY WANT IS TO MAKE MONEY FROM THE CUSTOMERS._br/_ THE GUIDE IN TANGER WAS PREPOTENT, AUTHORITARIAN, ONLY INTERESTED IN US BUYIN THINGS FORM THE STUPID STORES WHERE THEY TOOK US SO THAT HE CAN RECEIVE A COMMISSION._br/_ SEVEN HOURS TRAVELING, HALF AN HOUR IN A DISGUSTING LUNCH, 2 AND A HALF HOURS IN STORES AND HALF AN HOUR REALLY VISITING TANGER. It won't let me pick no stars. This is the worst tour I have ever been on. I didn't see one sight, or learn one thing about Morocco. I felt like this was a bait and switch because it didn't follow the itinerary at all. Here was the day:_br/_ -A four hour drive to the port because of all the pick ups which wasn't explained ahead of time. _br/_ -After arriving, a drive through town at a high speed to a dirt parking lot with sad looking camels. A ride was 30 seconds around the parking lot for an extra fee. _br/_ -A walk to lunch with no information provided at all while hounded by locals trying to sell things._br/_ -Lunch which was just okay_br/_ -A high pressure sales experience at a rug store_br/_ -A high pressure sales experience at a pharmacy_br/_ And THAT WAS IT. No walking tour, no Casbah, no tea overlooking the water. Just a massive waste or day which was miserable. All the people on the tours seemed to be furious and were vocally complaining by the end. This tour needs to be completely revamped. Don't believe any of the positive reviews

We waited 40 minutes for two young women to_br/_ show up at the morning pick up spot. Accommodating two people annoyed the 50 or so other people on the trip. We were somewhat rushed the rest of the trip. I wish we had seen more of the Médina.

It was a very long trip and the agency should organize better the pick up points because you loose a lot of time because of it. The trip was a little too commercial for my taste.

I am glad we took this tour but there were a few things I did not appreciate. One in particular was in the cooperative where we were taken - the rug sales pitch was too pushy. Then one of the rug sales persons latched onto me and would not let up. He kept pressing me to buy. Then when he got that I wasnt going to buy a rug he pressured me to buy a Pashmina or jewelry. He was relentless. I did not appreciate this in the least. I probably would have purchased some jewelry, but he just kept pushing and pushing me that I just left. Then in the alleyway leading out of that building we were accausted by so many venders pushing things in our face. I felt threatened and neither of the guides did anything to get them to back off. They werent just doing it to me but to our whole group. I just wanted to get out of there. The lunch-no one told us what we were eating. The food was rather bland. I eat a lot of Moroccan food in the US and it has far more flavor than this had.

The experience was great. There was a little confusion at first on where to get picked up, but we resolved that the day prior to departure. The staff were professional, fun, and very helpful. I loved the spice markets, the opportunity to buy crafts, and the camel ride. The lunch was very good, especially since they were able to provide me a vegetarian meal without notice. I would highly recommend this tour.

If you want a quick trip so that you dont have to plan anything, this is the trip for you. My friends and I wanted an easy way to do a day trip to Tangier without the hassle of figuring out how to get there from Malaga and all the details in between. Bus ride was decent, we were the first stop so it was a very early morning start 5:30am with several stops along the way to pick up other tourists. By the time we arrived at the port it was around 9am and the ferry left around 10am. It was nice to have a guide because they took care of getting the boarding passes and gave you all the paperwork you need to get in and out of Morocco.

The trip was fun however, It is a long day but well worth it. The only thing I would change is for the tour guide to inform us what is going on when we get on the bus to set our expectations. None of us understood the timeline or what was next on the agenda. It would have been good to know that there were multiple stops to pick up others for the trip. Having said that, myself along with 11 others were the first group on the bus so for us it was not obvious while those getting on after us probably could figure it out. After everyone was on the bus was when the tour guide told us what to expect. Our tour guide was Paco, he was a lot of fun and very informative.

When I booked this tour from Malaga to Tangiers the details stated that it would be a bus trip of approximately 2 hours to the ferry and that the pick up time would be 5:30 am. Despite the early start I booked us anyway as I figured it would give us more time in Morocco. When I called Julia Tours the day before to confirm I was told that the pick up time had moved to 7:30am because they had to catch a later ferry. No explanation was offered. Fair enough I thought, more time in bed, and probably just a later return time too. We showed up at the bus stop and were picked up as expected and we set off along the motorway. It was not made clear that we would be stopping multiple times to pick other people up at various places along the coast and we duly pulled off the motorway after only around 20 minutes and then proceeded to drive through various side streets in Torremolinos, Fuengirola, Marbella etc for the next couple of hours. No breaks were offered and we were not even told where we would be catching the ferry from, so it was impossible to guess how long the journey would take until we finally asked the rather surly and sarcastic guide and he answered that we would arrive at the ferry at 11am hopefully. In other words a 2 hour journey actually took 3.5 hours. Along the way there was no information on the places we were passing, only guidance on how to pass through customs etc, which was helpful to be fair. Still not sure where the ferry port was - possibly Algeciras?_br/_ Ferry journey was uneventful apart from the queues for customs and at Tangier we were greeted by a local guide and split into buses by language preference. The local guide was very informative and amusing and he took us on a great tour of Tangier and out to the beach to have a camel ride which was great fun and only 2 Euro each. the original guide had disappeared by this time the beach and the view was really beautiful. After that we walked through the lovely old town to a restaurant for lunch. Unfortunately during this walk we were followed by a group of very persistent street sellers, who knew that we were going for lunch and promised to wait for us. In other words - they knew our intinerary and were following us._br/_ After lunch we were taken to a place where we were basically trapped in a building for over an hour while we were subjected to a really over the top sales pitch for admittedly beautiful carpets, silver, leather goods and other local crafts. No prices were displayed so it was impossible to even look at the goods without having to get into a conversation about prices. You could not leave as the doors were blocked by the street sellers waiting for us outside. _br/_ We were then chased through the streets again to the next sales pitch where we sat for another hour while a local herbal pharmacist company tried to sell us variious products based on Argan Oil, herbs and spices etc. Finally we were chased to the ferry by the same street sellers who by this time were getting pretty desparate. Some of the sellers even tried to get on our bus._br/_ Back at the ferry our original guide appeared again and took us back on the boat for the 45 minute trip back to Spain. when we arrived back it was around 6pm by this time and dark and cold. Our bus was not there to meet us and we had to wait almost 1 hour until it showed up. We couldnt wait inside the terminal because it was too warm and smelled of drains so we stood outside in the cold instead. By this time everyone was exhausted and rather cranky so when the bus finally showed up we all piled on and the guide threw a hissy fit because we were not sitting in the same seats as on the way out in the morning! Some of the passengers refused to move and asked why he wanted us to sit in the same places, but again no reason was offered which made us all pretty angry. The trip back to Malaga took another 3 hours and we finally arrived home after 10pm. earlier than advertised._br/_ So to summarise..._br/_ 1. Tangier is a beautiful place and it is really worth visiting. This tour however was basically a long sales pitch. You had no free time to look around and were pressured constantly to buy local goods. The market had loads of interesting stalls which I would have enjoyed looking at but we had no time as we were chased through the streets from one staged sales pitch to another. I Loved the camel rides and the restaurant visit._br/_ 2. The 2 hour bus journey is more like 3.5 hours from Malaga. 4.5 hours if you count the time hanging around waiting to board the ferry._br/_ 3. The Spanish guide provided by Julia tours spoke several languages but was rude in all of them. He did not point out places of interest along the way, which might have helped pass the time. He was only concerned with passports and procedures and disappeared once we arrived in Tangier - only to reappear for an embarassing comedy performance during the carpet sales pitch. Very stroppy.

You really don't get a chance to even enjoy Tangier. After a 2.5 hours drive picking up people at different hotels, there was a 3 hour drive to CADIZ to get the ferry after another hour wait at the port. You really waist 6 hours just trying to get there and the 4 hours you get to spend in the town, two are for a carpet demonstration and a speech on argan oil, the other two you spend inside a restaurant very Americanize. Very disappointed!

It was good for a taste of new and old Morocco- no time for loitering in the kasbah _br/_ Next time I would have done the tour and then spent the night there and revisited places I wanted to see in more depth_br/_ But for a short visit it was good- typical harassment by vendors but thats part of the experience and barter hard for rugs as they are extremely overpriced but they will lower their prices considerably

I gave this one star because there is nothing less._br/_ trip started at 530am with a very rude guide and he stayed that way the whole trip. we did not arrive at the port until the 10am boat ride to Tangier. we could not enjoy the 1 hour trip because we had to stand on a line for customs. not viator fault._br/_ we were met by local tour guide, he was nicer. lunch was awful. food was dumped on the table and we were squashed into a small room. there was no dancing as promised. we were taken to two stores only so we could only shop there. so the market was just to get to these expensive stores. _br/_ If what you are looking for is to get your passport stamped. DONT DO IT. we got home at 1130pm exhausted and again it was worse than what I have written

Can I say one thing DONT DO IT. Firstly, the trip stared at 5.30am and we didn't return until 11.30pm. An extremely long day. Most of this time was spent travelling to and from the ferry point to travel over to Morocco. For the money it costs you it is not good value. We did however meet some very nice people on the bus trip and have become friends on Facebook.

This was an incredible day trip. The highlight was the optional camel ride, which was two Euros each, and the wonderful lunch prepared for us. Our tour guide, Hassan, was amazing, very informative, friendly and fluent in several languages. Keep in mind, the trip is wonderful and you see a lot in one short day. The only negative is the stop at a carpet shop, with quite a high pressure sales pitch. Quite honestly, nobody was interested in carpets and that wasted time for us. We would have liked a bit of time to bargain with the locals, but were only able to do so as we walked to and from the bus. I do highly recommend this day trip - if nothing else, you can say you went to Africa!

The bus trip from Malaga to Tarifa took 4 hours since we stopped so many times to pick up passengers. In Morocco, we were taken to new section of city and then the old section. Beautiful scenery. I wish we would have had time in the old section to browse and shop for souvenirs. If we had stopped to look at something, we would have lost our tour guide. We were rushed and then taken to a room where we spent time listening to salesperson trying to sell us a carpet and spices. Then we rushed to dock where we had to wait 1 1/2 hours for ferry to take us back to Spain. Then another 4 hour bus ride back to Malaga. I feel the timing of events on this trip could be much improved.

A pretty good introductory trip to Tangier which I would highly suggest first timers go on a guided tour as you could get devoured by street merchants if you go it alone. That being said, you need to weight the pros and cons:

A really enjoyable day, and was as represented by Viator's website. As we wanted a relatively stress-free way to do a quick 1-day tour of Morocco while my wife and I were in southern Spain, this tour clearly satisfied our desire. Upon it's conclusion late last night, we both agreed we were glad we did this tour. We also recognize this tour is not for everyone, as it's a very long day our Julia Travel bus departed Malaga 5:30am and did not return us to same location until after 11:00pm last night, involves lots of waiting in lines to board the ferry and satisfy police / customs requirements, and exposes the tour participants at times to pushy vendors. Compliments to Julia Travel for being well-organized and providing guidance and leading the large group around without losing anyone. We saw lots of interesting sites, and we were surprised that the lunch was better than expected. We felt safe at all times throughout the tour.

We just came back from our trip to Malaga, Spain and are so disappointed in our one day excursion to Tangier! I'm absolutely sure that this tour is among tours that don't have to exist at all!!! Please don't waste our money and time!!! _br/_ 1. One way trip to the ferry take between 2,5-3 hours plus ferry that never is on schedule_br/_ 2. At the beginning it was nice to see the ocean, take a ride on camel_br/_ 3. But then the tour guide took us to the old town with no single stop! Hard to believe that there is nothing to see! _br/_ 4. And our promised time to spend on the market was cut to zero!_br/_ 5. Then on our way to lunch, he took us thru meat part of their market, where sellers keep their produce open, uncovered with a lot of fly!!! we immediately decided not to eat meat over there! Perfect place to became a vegetarian!!!! _br/_ 6. And the only entertainment we had in old city was the carpet factory! We did not come for this!_br/_ 5. Not to forget that lunch was not delicious - to be polite!

I know I have rated this as a two but worth experiencing as it is unbelievable. You will never be prepared enough for this one._br/_ Very long tour because of the number of pick ups along the way from Malaga. I thought we would never get back to our hotel. Tour guide to morroco had a lot to do. The bus driver appeared cross . Unpleasant man. We had to concentrate very hard to listen to what was required of us . So it was a bit nerve wrecking. The morrocan guide appeared to take us to only certain places and advised us to buy only from the people he was 'dealing' with getting paid by . So as a tourist I felt used and manipulated. It was also extremely difficult to understand him as the sound system was poor. The food at our stop was fabulous. watch out for pick pockets and be prepared for the hard sell from people on the street trying to sell there wares. NO NO and NO are useful words to learn but an experience I wouldn't have missed none the less.

Viator using Julia Travel did a fine job. Be warned that depending on where you get on the bus we got on in Malaga the trip can be considerably longer than advertised. Our trip to Tangier and back took 19 hours. Also, the street vendors and merchants you visit are polite but persistent and can be a little off-putting. It begins to feel as though you've just been brought on a shopping trip. Women should also be advised that it'd be better to dress more modestly than in Spain to avoid hassles.

This was an amazing trip once you get there. I think we had an off day on the ferry that wasn't fun as we stood in line the entire ride waiting for 1 policeman that was checking each passport the guide said there are usually 5. Once we got there we boarded nice tour buses and our guide was excellent. You got to see the modern part of town, different areas along the coast, the point where the Mediterranean sea meets the Atlantic ocean, the Hercules caves find a local in the caves that will show you great spots for photos and things to see and yes they expect a little compensation but it's well worth it and the Casbah. The lunch was wonderful including the live music. It's a great way to see Morocco in 1 day.

This Viator tour from Malaga to Tangier was neither worth the money nor fun. We met at the meeting spot in at 5:30, tired but excited! That excitement soon disappeared as it became apparent that we were NOT departing from Malaga which is a port city but driving 4 hours nonstop it would've only been about 2 hours to Tarifa, stopping every few minutes or so to pick up another 2 or 3 lucky people right outside their hotel door much later than the 5:30 am we had had to meet in an empty bank plaza. Somewhere around 9:30-10 we arrived at the Tarifa ferry. We weren't in time for the 10 am ferry so took the 11 am ferry. By the time we were on the ferry we were ready to relax and enjoy the rest of our day! But NO! We had to stand in line for about an hour almost the entire length of the ferry ride neck to neck with hundreds of people in a cramped ferry aisle to show our passport and papers to enter Tangier. OK, so we finally landed in Tangier and boarded another bus which took us through town while the tour guide told us what to see outside of the bus. Some of the stops included a 5-min. stop at a cool lookout for photo ops and fresh squeezed OJ, 10 minutes at another photo op, about 20 min. in a parking lot to ride camels, and some cool caves where we only had 10 min. before we had to be back at the bus. After all this bus riding and stopping, we finally got out and walked through the town gazing upon spices, veggies, fruits, and other interesting wares. But we were whisked by all of these things, not allowed to buy anything, much less take a photo. Next stop: lunch. It was mediocre at best some bland soup, stale bread, and tasteless couscous with a thimble-full of veggies. We had noted on our reservation that we were vegetarian and when we entered the restaurant I asked the tour guide if vegetarian option was available. He confirmed and supposedly told one of the wait staff. But every time one of the wait staff brought us food, we had to tell them, no meat, vegetariano. EVERY TIME! And at the end of lunch someone came around begging for a tip. They would stand by you until you put something on the tray they held out. After lunch, we were subjected to 2 HIGH PRESSURE sales pitches. One in a rug/textiles/jewelry store, the other in an herb shop of sorts. They expected us to buy something and the tour guides of course get a cut of profits. Between lunch and the stores, we were constantly harangued by people trying to get us to buy their cheap T-shirts, jewelry, etc...stuff I wasn't even interested in. It didn't matter if you said no thank you they were still up in your face. It was super annoying but I guess that's just their culture. After the horrible suk experience we boarded the bus and went across the street to the ferry station where we had to wait 45 min. for the ferry back to Malaga. There was nothing in the ferry station except for a coffee shop with hardly any offerings and a duty-free shop so it was a VERY long 45 min. we could've spent elsewhere. I had wanted to find a cool souvenir or two but was not afforded the option. I was definitely NOT there to buy rugs or Moroccan oil, and definitely didn't appreciate the high pressure. The tour also promised a Berber dancer and a snake charmer but we never saw anything like that. We finally got back to our meeting point after dropping everyone else back at their hotels and it was about 11:30 pm. The tour says it's about 15 hours but according to my calculations, 15 hours from 5:30 am would be 8:30 pm. We were so tired and STARVED the pitiful lunch had long ago worn off by the time we got back to Malaga but hardly anything was open. We were lucky to find something that was open until midnight! It would've been nice to know we were going to be the first picked up and last dropped off. Had I known that, I wouldn't have taken this tour. But knowing at least that would've made all the other inconveniences somewhat bearable. Oh, one other thing, the bus that took us from Malaga to Tarifa and back did not have bathroom facilities which was a problem for me because of an illness I had the day we took the tour. If people are going to be on a tour bus for longer than 2 or 3 hours, there should be some kind of bathroom stop if there aren't facilities on the bus. Luckily, one of our stops was at a McDonald's and I jumped off to use the bathroom. But I was worried the bus might not be there when I got back. NOT a good feeling! I would never recommend this tour to my worst enemy! Sure, we had lunch in Africa and got to knock that continent off my been there list but a day in Malaga would've been far preferred. What a waste of time and money!! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND DO NOT TAKE THIS TOUR!

It was an okay tour I went in 2015. We didn't get to go shopping in a bazaar like I was hoping or was stated. Instead our guide took us too a warehouse kind of building. The camel ride was 1 minute long, walking in a small circle. The lunch was great and the snake charmer was very interesting!

This is a great, well-organized tour for someone who wants to get a quick taste of Morocco. We got an overview of Tangier from the comfort of a modern, air-conditioned coach, saw Hercules caves and some awesome beaches and visited the old center. A really pleasant lunch was included. It is, however, a very long day, starting at 5.30 in the morning and ending at 11pm at night. The drive to the ferry at Tarifa from Malaga is two hours. Custom queues are long and you spend a lot of time queuing to get on and off the boat. Your patience is well rewarded.

Wonderful experience, quick and fun trip that gives a great taste of Morocco for those who only have time for a day trip. The Moroccans that we came across were lovely, and the food at the restaurant we visited was great but not vegan friendly. I wish they would skip the rug store... many other reviewers have said that they would rather do without it as well. I would have preferred more time to shop...

We understand why Viator dropped this tour from their offering in late August. It was an 18.5 hour day advertised up to 15 hours. We left our hotel at 5.05 am to meet the bus and we got back to the hotel at 11.35pm. A total of 10.5 hours pure commuting time and less than 8 hours of time in Tangier. Once we got to Tangier it was fine - the beautiful consulate area, the spot where the Atlantic meets the Med, the camel ride, the Grotto and even the harassment and haggling with the street sellers in the narrow lane ways was all good. The traditional Moroccan lunch was better than expected. If you do this tour it's better if you pick up the tour closer to Tarifa the port where the tour starts and ends. The ironic part for us was we started at Malaga thinking that's where we would depart from on the basis that the day before on the hop on hop off bus we were told how Malaga is the second most important port to Spain. On that basis we thought our journey would be more boat than bus tour but we were wrong by a factor of 4 to 1 400 minutes on the bus , 100 min on the boat. Anyway we now understand why it is no longer offered. 18.5 hours is a bridge too far

3.5-4hours each way on a (comfortable and air conditioned) coach but no comfort breaks. The hour long ferry trip was absolute bedlam and, whilst the local guide was friendly and knowledgeable, it was more of a shopping trip than actual sightseeing. The meal was nice but no tagine as advertised

I had gone on this same trip on Thursday June 22/17 with my husband and we had a wonderful experience so much so that I wanted to take my niece which I did on Aug 5/17 just 6 weeks later. The first time our guide from Spain was Frank and he was so professional, knowledgeable and very organized. The second time our guide was Janette and it was just the opposite. She was very unprofessional as she was more concerned with her own shopping, eating, watching her TV shows, etc. didn't even manage the English language very well, very unorganized and because of this our group didn't know where they were going, where or when to line up and at the ferry terminal coming back into Spain through immigration caused us about an hour delay. We had stared our trip at 5:30 a.m. that morning in Malaga and didn't arrive back until midnight. On both trips the guide in Morocco was excellent and again very professional and knowledgeable._br/_ The trip itself was well worth the money but I would not want to recommend it if there was a chance that they would have Janette. I didn't realize until after this trip when looking at some of the reviews that other people had also complained about this same tour guide so I really don't understand why she is still employed. My husband gave a wonderful review from the previous trip but sadly I am not able to this time.
