Fantasia Moroccan Dinner and Cultural Show

Marrakech, Morocco

Discover all the fun and excitement of Moroccan folklore at the Fantasia Moroccan Dinner and Cultural Show.

Presented in the heart of a Marrakech palm grove, under the shelter of exotic Berber tents, the show is a dazzling, multi-colored extravaganza, accompanied by a typical Moroccan feast served in an open-air setting.

Seated on cushions encircling the show arena, you'll enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal and be serenaded by a chorus of girls and boys in traditional dress, accompanied by typical Arabian music.

After this gorgeous meal, the fabulous Fantasia show takes over the arena. The belly dancing, horseback skills and caravans are unforgettable, just like the thousand and one nights come to life!

During the show you will see a flying carpet ridden by a Sultan come out of a cloud, over the audience's head!

Sample Menu (subject to change without notice):

  • Moroccan salad
  • Mechoui (roast lamb)
  • Couscous with seven vegetables
  • Fruits of the season
  • Mint tea
  • Moroccan pastry

Our driver was great, so friendly and so helpful. The show is great if you have kids- it’s sort of Disney land meets Morocco but as two adult friends there are much nicer dinners and shows to be had in central marrakech.

The dinner/show place was a bit of a drive from our hotel, but dinner was absolutely amazing. The show wasn't anything special and was worth seeing once.

This is the standard tourist stop for visitors to Marrakesh. The horsemanship of the riders was great, and the Berber men with the rifles was surprising. There is also a lot of music from every in Morocco's regions, but there is a lot of 'manufactured' exhibits and it can get old in a hurry.

Not a highlight of my trip. Would not recommend this to others traveling. Just my own personal taste. Interesting to see but was not amazing. Food was only average and the guide was quite and abrupt.

The dinner is actually quite good, punctuated with appearances from groups from different tribes._br/_ A nice show in the end with horses, belly dance, fireworks and even the flying carpet, as promised._br/_ We did not get impressed with the local company, however. Our guide arrived late without any apology or even the average salutation in the end, a French couple and we remained waiting for him at the designated meeting point for ages. When everyone had left and the music was finally off, we eventually headed to the bus park, only to find him angry and shouting at us, without having bothered to look for us rather than complain. The displays of irritation regarding the larger Spanish group were also unpleasant, bordering on xenophobia. _br/_ We'd recommend the dinner and show, if you're into that kind of thing, bearing in mind there are several other operators offering the same. The hosting place was called Chez Ali and has its own website!

The cultural show was exciting but I would highly advise you to take a higher seat during the horse show because we almost got into an accident as the horse slipped into the spectator's area since there isn't any proper barricade or fencing. Dinner service took some time but the portions were extremely generous. Loved the chicken couscous that they served.

Pick up on time, guide irritatingly pushy. 'Take photo here this is a good view' so many times we just ended up taking photos just to shut guide up. Guide made us feel like herded kindergarteners through the complex prior to dinner. Food OK, drinks overpriced, forced into tip with wrong change given, after waiting for change when I pointed out change was short Guide 'suggested' I leave it as tip, felt I had no choice, I just gave up. Show started in darkness couldn't see anything for first 5 minutes. Then guide kept warning us 'they shoot guns now' every time they were going to do gun charge, 'here comes the flying carpet'.I had read reviews so went pre-warned that some people thought it was touristy, but was worse than my worst fears. For dinner sat at table with guide who just talked in Arabic to the 2 others from our group, certainly left us feeling like the unwelcomed guests at the table.

The driver was not friendly and he rushed us through the building before the show. The food was not great and we had to pay for drinks even water separate. I didn't find it enjoyable. The show itself is good enough but the meal before it is such a let down.

The show was absolutely fantastic and I would definitely recommend it. Getting hold of the company to organise pick up from the hotel was not so easy. Emails werent replied to which meant that I had to phone a Moroccan number which was pricey when calling from a UK mobile it states on the voucher that you have to confirm pick up.

I did not expect the show to be highly entertaining. The horsemen were amazing! A must-see! The dinner was good too.

Adrian K Overall a fairly enjoyable experience and as advertised. The dinner was good and and the musicians who played during dinner were entertaining. The display of horseman at the end was the best part followed by fireworks. The transfer from the hotel was_br/_ Rather long and took about one hour and lesser time to return.

Not bad but the show is very tourist orientated. Food was ample but not to our taste, and we had two vegetarians who were offered a plate of tomatoes and onions only!! Show is quite gimmiccy but fine if you like horse tricks. The dancing as you eat was fun but after the 5th troop arrive its annoying

What wondered people, so welcoming, accommodating and so much fun and vitality for life!_br/_ A real banquet. A rather tacky cavern at the beginning a bit like santas grotto but it made us laugh! however the heavens opened so the show was spoiled a bit but the horses are beautiful. Worth every penny!

Not worth it. People got sick from the food so please be careful with the meat served if you do go. Also the show wasn't as exciting as expected.

Absolutely the ticket, lovely venue, the whole event was organised and rehearsed obviously many times, or they were just simply brilliant. Couldn't fault the show. Horses were the best I've seen and trained well, riders were professional, belly dancer was good it would have been nice if there had been six of them dancing around on the stage, magic event great, food was tasty and drinks weren't too expensive. Overall children enjoyed the show and that is what was important to us. Picked up early evening from our hotel and got back about 23:30, but who cares really your on holiday, and it is not every day you go to a great show.

The dinner was very nice and the portions were so big, especially as we shared the same amount of food for me and boyfriend which was the same amount for a family of 5! Transfer arrived on time and was very polite and friendly. The Show was lovely and the dancers gave you a real taste for Moroccan culture. However, drinks are not included and are very expensive, so this needs to be considered.

Having read reviews of this trip, were unsure if we were going to love it or hate it......wasn't love, but certainly didn't hate it! Had to contact agents when there to arrange collection from hotel. They asked if I could change to the Sat from Sun, but we already had plans so they agreed could still go Sunday. Appears we were their only booking for the Sunday which meant we were on our own on a table which was a little weird. Found it quite awkward having dancers and singers ?? Screechers?? around when trying to eat, especially when there was only us on our table. Food was unusual, soup to start, bread did the rounds starting at table to left of us and finishing at table to right. Don't know if this were deliberate or an oversight. Then came the lamb. Huge amount for just 2 of us - seemed to be same amount as those who had tables of 6. Nothing served with it though! Next came couscous. Because we had quite a lot of lamb, didn't eat much of this, had almost finished all we wanted by the time the gravy to go with it appeared. Finished with fruit platter followed by a biscuit and mint tea. Only had 1 bottle of water between us at 30 dirhams. Gave waiter 100, they then ushered us outside. Was annoyed...was going to tell waiter to keep the change, but they obviously think it is perfectly ok to steal from the tourists, should be our decision if we tip or not. Had read of others experiencing this, so knew to expect it! Evening is advertised as 4 to 4.30 hours. We were collected at 21.00 and it must have finished no later than 23.15...saying that any longer would have been too long. Was disappointed with after show. Felt false advertising at play all culminating in a breathtaking flying carpet act. This was so far away, you could just see a blur in the distance, no idea what was going on. Felt sorry for the horses with the loud guns, deafening!! In hindsight, should have spend money on good meal out or alternative trip.

Guide arrived on time, we were with 2 other people. Chez Ali is a great and atmospheric venue, which really gets you 'into the spirit'! We were shown into our 'tent' which is a row of rooms all next to each other but the inside is very beautifully tented with cushions, lanterns etc. Guests sit at round tables and are served by waiters in traditional dress. The food was delicious with lamb tangine, cous cous and vegetables, fresh fruit and mint tea with biscuits. Whilst we were eating dinner, we were entertained by a constant stream of dancers and musicians who entertained us and were great fun!! Afterwards we went outside and sat around the arena for the show. It was a little chilly, to be expected this time of year but we were advised to wrap up warmly. The show consisted of Berber horsemen, belly dancing and musicians and was entertaining although a little short in time - due to the time of year I expect.

The Fantasia show and dinner was great. This was my third time visiting Marrakech and each time I booked the Fantasia show and dinner. _br/_ Dinner was soup, roast lamb, cous cous, a tray of fruit and mint tea. _br/_ Show was very good but not long enough. All in all I had a fantastic night.

We were picked up at our hotel at 7 30pm and finally reached the venue at 8 30. Our guide for the evening was a very pleasant young man who actually spoke English. When we finally sat down to eat there were 9 of us around one table, only three of us spoke English. The fist course of soup was ok but none of us really liked it, the next platter was a shoulder of lamb, not a lot to go round 9 of us, the couscous and fruit were ok, mint tea you like or don't, the pastry was passed over so quickly as time was running out only 2 people managed to grab one. The Moroccan musicians got to be a little too much after a while. After the meal we sat on concrete seats around the arena for the show, this lasted just about half an hour, it consisted of horsemen galloping down the arena and firing their guns, impressive once after the fourth time rather boring. The 'caravan' was pathetic, the belly dancer was ok, after her dance she then appeared on the same stage as the flying carpet going over the stage, the stunt horsemen were undoubtedly the best part of the show. It was a change from being in the hotel for the evening, not the most enjoyable but not the worst either. Not sure I'd recommend it as something that must not be missed, not sure it lived up to expectations.

Great overview of Moroccan culture, very nice dinner and great cultural show. I definitely enjoyed it!_br/_ My only concern is: why a traveller needs to call the local agency even after receiving a confirmed booking from viator?

I had such expectations for this evening and on pulling up it looked spectacular but soon as we arrived in a big crowd our guild ditched us to talk to his friends. The meal was OK it looked great but lacked flavour I had expected dancers as we eat but instead had beggers who looked board and fed up after food we sat to watch the horse show where I witnessed a man hit his horse in the head with the but of his riffle. None for them seemed to have control for there horses and seemed only to use brut force which as an animal lover made me sad and uncomfortable. As the show drew to a close before we had chance to breath our guild was dragging us away again ran off on us and all so he could get home to bed he made sure we took a detour to drop him off first. I found the experience troubling at best

My wife Lorraine was quite concerned as we set off with 2 other couples and 2 tour guys into the backblocks of Marrakech, she whispered to me, "I think we are going to disappear into the desert and never be seen again". All of a sudden we were there at this fantastic enormous place like out of a fairy tale._br/_ The food was great, the people and their costumes were great, the show was great._br/_ Fantasia was the highlight of our stay in Morocco

Our family of two adults and two teenage children had a really nice experience. The Food was really good, plenty to eat and also a chance to meet new people. you wont come back hungry,_br/_ The dances that take place during the meal were good, makes a good talking point. But it does go on for a bit to long we felt._br/_ The evening show was good, the horses and riders were fantastic, the belly dancer was disappointing, the over lights made it difficult to see at times._br/_ we thought it was a good over all experience

It was great for kids and the food was great but I found that the music which was all the different tribes all playing at once a bit much and it became a cocophony of sound. We also had to wait quite a while for the show to start.the horses were fantastic but the rest, apart from the fireworks, was a bit mediocre ie the tribes playing more music all at the same time. Overall worth doing but I wouldn't repeat the experience
