Mazatlan Canopy Zipline Tour plus Mezcal Tasting

Mazatlan, Mexico

See the jungle from a bird’s-eye view as you glide through a tropical forest along ziplines in the Sierra Madre foothills, east of Mazatlán. Afterward, enjoy a mezcal factory tour and tasting at Vinata Los Osuna distillery! You’ll learn how the Osuna family has made blue agave mezcal (a tequila-like liquor) for more than a century, and taste the award-winning liquor!

After your guide picks you up at your hotel in Mazatlán, travel by coach 45 minutes east to the foothills of the Sierra Madre mountains for a zipline experience at Huana Coa Canopy Adventure. The ecological park is located on the grounds of Vinata Los Osuna distillery. Meet your expert zipline guides, receive a safety orientation and get outfitted in the provided gear. From there, take a Swiss army jeep up the mountain and prepare to take flight!

Soar through the trees between 12 platforms on ziplines of varying height and length for a thrilling flight with fantastic views. You are strapped into a safety line at all times so there is no danger of falling and you can quickly gain confidence from friendly guides. You can also try your hand at rappelling and check out two nature trails to learn more about the area.

The final zipline takes you over fields of blue agave near the central area of the distillery’s ranch. Get grounded with a fruit snack (included) and then calm your nerves with a mezcal tasting on your tour of Los Osuna Blue Agave Distillery.
Walk through the mezcal factory that has been operated by the Osuna family since 1876! You’ll learn about the process of making the drink -- from growing the spiky blue agave plants to roasting the harvested bulbs in underground brick ovens. Consider yesteryear’s mezcal-making process as you watch a donkey pull a large wheel to smash the spiky-agave plant before distillation. Once you soak up how it’s made, taste a variety of award-winning mezcal. You can even buy some bottles to take home!

After an exciting day of ziplining and mezcal tasting, your guide returns you to your hotel in Mazatlán.

This was the best zipline tour I've ever done. We were picked up by a taxi and taken all the way up to a little pueblo in the mountains for this experience. Then they drove us in a little wagon to the top of the mountain and there were SO many different lines taking us all the way back down. No climbing towers as I've had to do in other experiences. Our guides were so patient and helpful. The food for lunch was fantastic! And I really enjoyed the Mezcal. I loved the plain and the different flavors. It goes down so smoothly, not like tequila in the US that burns on the way down. I wish I could have bought a bigger bottle, but it's pretty heavy to put in your suitcase. The sleepy little pueblo was very charming. A couple of things to keep in mind: 1. It takes 45 mins to get there from Mazatlan. 2. You will get grease on your clothes from the ziplines. I'm sad one of my favorite shirts is ruined. 3. I was picked up from a cruise and it was quite confusing about where we were to meet our driver. On a positive note, I called the number provided and the company was VERY helpful both times I called. Also, it was a lot of fun, but I went in the dry season. The trees were all barren, not lush like the pictures. Nothing the company can do about that, but it wasn't the scenery I had imagined. Overall I highly recommend this tour.

The ziplining was great! It was my first time and they were very helpful. We got to be on the lines several times, maybe close to 10, I lost count! There were no towers to climb, just simple trail hiking between lines. DO wear old clothes you don't mind getting dirty because some of the tar/oil they used to keep the lines maintained got on peoples clothes and doesn't come out. Lunch was wonderful and very authentic. The base camp for the tour was in a little pueblo and I felt like we got away from the tourist attractions to really SEE Mexico. The Mezcal tasting was simple, but good. I would definitely do it again!!

A must do tour. Liz and her team were great guides, extremely careful and were always concerned with our safety. The fun lasted much longer than I thought it would. We would encourage anyone of any age to take this tour.

Firstly, just getting confirmation that we would be picked up at the cruise terminal took 3 emails and 3 phone calls. The confirmation sheet said this tour was being run by Nexus. A lot of unknowing and then where we were met at the terminal was another tour company name. In the end, I couldn't tell you which company ran this tour. We were driven out to a village about 45 minutes away. It was a cute village. The ziplining was just ok. The guides just ok, not much personality. The valley we crisscrossed wasn't especially pretty. The equipment was dubious. But I had recently ziplined in Roatan which was stupendous, lucious, overlooking the ocean and the guides were tons of fun and the equipment top notch._br/_ The tequila factory was in this same village square. Doubtful it was factory. Seemed to be a sales outlet. The tasting was walk in, taste 3 tequilas and buy or not._br/_ The best part of the tour was the food. It was authentic Mexican fare and truly memorable. _br/_ I wouldn't recommend this tour.

Our family of 6 adults did this tour. The ziplining was fun and the guides were very good, funny and entertaining, and we felt safe at all times. The ziplining was not as extreme as some other ones I have done, so I would rate the thrill factor as medium. It certainly met our expectations. I would say that the tequila tasting and tour afterwards was average, just a brief explanation of the process of making tequila, viewing a few small buildings, and then 2 shots at the bar one of tequila, one of the lower alcohol liqueur. There were 5 products but to taste more was extra, and to taste the best quality tequila was 2.00US per shot extra. For the cost, I would have liked to have been offered tastings of all of the products. I would certainly do this once, but wouldn't do it every year. I will add that the tour was very accommodating in postponing the date of our tour with very little notice due to an illness in our group, and I really appreciated that.

My wife, Denise, and I had tried ziplining previously and had a blast doing so. We were definitely looking forward to this one as well. What made this one better than the rest was the number and length of the rides, which exceeded past experiences by a long shot. It did take a long time to get out to the ziplines, but that's because there are not a lot of hills around Mazatlan suitable for ziplining. A few pregnant volcanoes, yes, but not a lot of hills. The staff were respectful, friendly, accommodating, and sharp. After the rides, we were treated to a tasteful lunch. The delightful weather and the thrills made for a wonderful day.

The zip line was fun, but we were switched to another zip line company than the one we thought we booked with. My advise, don't book via Viator. The activity is a lot of fun and worth it, but our experience with this booking was a bit of a mess.

Zipped in June before the trees leafed out and the view was wonderful. The best part thought was the guides. They were spirited, funny, and caring. This was my first time and will definitely not be my last.

This ziplining tour was amazing! The guides were so knowledgeable, kind, professional and funny! The initial ATV ride was a surprise but enjoyable. There is a short and steep hike to the start of the tour but after that it was smooth sailing. I would definitely recommend this tour!

Fabulous, both my granddaughter and I had a blast and she wanted to go again. The guides were great and extremely helpful. What we liked best was that there was at least 2 guides on each platform to help us on and off the zip line. The lunch was great. My only bad thing to say was the taxi driver we had going to the zip line. He was actually doing 120 in a 70 zone one time and almost hit a motorcyclist. On the way back the ride was good as we had one of the guides talk to him. Also, for 4 people you need a bigger car then a small taxi as I was squished in the back seat with 2 other ladies. All in all a fabulous time and would highly recommend this excursion.

This shore excursion was the highlight of our 7-day cruise on the Carnival Miracle! Seven of us took the zipline tour and loved it. Professionalism and safety are evident throughout the entire operation. The delicious lunch and mezcal tasting were an added bonus!

The people and activities were awesome. Our zip line guides/instructors were great. Definitely a worthwhile tour. Just be aware that we were only able to zip line on 9 lines - not the 12 that are advertised everywhere including the Viator overview, and the Los Osuna tasting is very brief and you are only poured one shot of Reposado and a half shot of their vanilla liqueur more available at an additional cost rather than the more free flowing pours that are advertised and reviewed elsewhere on the Internet. Other than those minor disappointments it was a totally fun 4 hours.

Well-organized, friendly guides! We had an amazing time, and the lunch was delicious! We arrived in Mazatlan with a cruise ship and booked this tour on our own. They were accommodating with pick-up and drop-off. Our driver even stopped at a local empanada place and bought us some empanadas for the ride back! The only small con was they packed the big van very full, and with almost an hour drive each way and some large passengers, it was the least pleasant part -- but a very small detail!

We had a very fun and exciting day on the Canopy Zipline Tour! All of the guides were very personable and patient as we went through all of the zip lines. The day was very well planned out for us. Robert led the way on the Zipline. We all felt safe with the crew! We recommend this activity!

Great staff! Fun and energetic. The lines provided some beautiful views and they were varied enough in length/height and style that it didn't get repetitive. Definitely worth doing.

Excellent experience. The staff were just amazing and the zip lines were long and the views were incredible. We did a second zip line with another company that used a different harness and braking system and didn't like it as much at all. Will come back here again on our next visit and recommend it the zip line fully. Also....great tequila after! Bought 2 bottles at a great savings!
