Take a guided tour of Sun Studios in Memphis - the birthplace of Rock N' Roll. All the big names recorded here, including Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins. Re-live the beat, soul and attitude of the rock n' roll era.
As well as enjoying the guided tour of the studio, you will also receive a voucher to spend in the awesome Sun Studio store. There is a range of great merchandise available including clothing, memorabilia, posters, and more. You can even have your own personal recording session where you will be taken into a sound booth in the control room of the studio. Put on headphones and sing lyrics that are displayed on a teleprompter into a microphone, then your lyrics will be burnt to the background music and put on a personalized CD with the Sun Studio label and your name and song imprinted on it.
This was a fantastic trip the place is iconic and to be there is mesmerising.

Just incredible. To stand in the same place that so many greats like Elvis, Cash, BB King, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, U2 and so many others have recorded is just amazing. Tour is very thorough, wish I could have stayed all day and just listened to the music!

This tour was amazing!!! I have always been an Elvis fan and this was where it all began. Our guide was one of the best. His stories and information left me in awe. He even gave us a recital on the famous piano where Jerry Lee stubbed out his cigar on the keys. If you haven't been on this tour you are missing out big time. Well worth the time and effort.

This is the original building and recording studio used in the 50s by so many famous artists. Graham, our guide, was very animated and knowledgeable in telling us the stories and secrets behind the scenes. Lots of memorabilia. They also sell record albums! Thoroughly enjoyed the short but entertaining tour. Its still used to this day as a recording studio. I wish I had known about their free shuttle bus from the Rock n Soul museum, just steps from our hotel. They shuttle to Graceland, too.

Slight snag at beginning, but officials handled the issue effectively.

The young guide just a new job for him gave a really good explanation about everything, you could see that he is born with music between his ears. It was a nice tour, I would recommend it to everyone who is into music !

Having heard/read about Sun Studios made going here an adventure as I wanted to see if information given me matched with what I saw. Was most taken with the history displayed and while there were highly profiled artists written about eg. Presley, Cash, Perkins - displays also paid homage to those people who were key in the development of this era. Tour guide's presentation skills also made this tour a joy to participate in.

We arrived a few minutes into the tour but still felt like we didn't miss enough to worry about, their were quite a few people in the small upstairs space but everyone moved around a bit so you could see the displays. I thought the Dewey Phillips display was spectacular, very impressed on how accurate it looked and felt like you took a walk into the past. Downstairs was more open and just as I had imagined it would look, loved that they put a mark on the floor to show where Elvis stood and recorded his music. Our guide was super friendly and we had a wonderful look back as well as a feel of the microphone the stars used back then. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is a music fan, we left knowing a whole lot more than we knew before we stepped foot into Sun Studio

excellent 45 minute tour of sun studios. the blonde lady with the baseball cap who gave the tour really knows her stuff and makes this a great experience. On this tour you actually get to hold Elvis Presley's microphone stand, a great photo take.

After our visit to Graceland this tour was the icing on the cake. We caught the free shuttle just tip the driver which runs every hour from the Graceland Ticket Office area to Sun Studios/Beale Street. Sun Studios was were it all started for Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and many others. Our tour guide was a passionate young lady with a great sense of humour and wealth of knowledge about the history of the studio. The culmination of the tour was a visit to the actual recording studio where Elvis made his first recording and we got to hold the microphone that he used. There is a cafe there and lots of souvenirs for purchase. Make sure you also check out Beale Street.

Too crowded in each tour. Hardly any elbow room. Overall, great tour!
Review by: Dave A, October 2016
It was interesting enough, but there's only two rooms. Was good to see the actual studio, but most of the tour was just listening to music recorded there. Worth visiting just to look at the building / gift shop, but unless you are a hardcore music fan, you may not find it interesting.

This was an awesome experience for the entire family. My husband is a musician and he loved it. They were filled with history and the tour girl was fun and informative. The studio still records music today in this 1950's started recording studio. Everyone should stop by Sun Studios and enjoy the entire experience.

The tour of Sun Records greatly exceeded our expectations. We had a wonderful tour guide, Nick, who made the experience so memorable. He made us feel that we were transported back to that time with his stories and vignettes from the 50s and 60s. We liked it so much that following the tour we sat in the little soda shop and had a coffee. Kudos to Jake too for his help and kindness.

If you are heading to Sun Studios you will probably already understand the significance of this place in modern music history. It is such an unassuming building and yet in those four walls stood most of the greats in American music. The tour is very low key but is given by very knowledge I guides who inform you about the history of Sun and Sam Phillips and the. Lead you through to the actual studio where Elvis, Jerry Lee, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins etc all made their music. The cafe and gift shop are very good also and I could not recommend this tour highly enough.
