Mendoza Wine Tour with Lunch

Mendoza, Argentina

With its rolling vineyards set in the foothills of the Andes, the Mendoza wine region is unlike any other wine region on earth. Experience it with a local guide on this full-day wine tour! You’ll visit three wineries in the Luján de Cuyo area, where you’ll learn about the winemaking process of one of South America’s most important wine countries and, of course, sample several different wine varieties, including Mendoza’s best-known grape, malbec.

Set off on your wine-filled day in Mendoza by air-conditioned minivan, heading to the Luján de Cuyo area, where you’ll visit your first winery. Luján de Cuyo sits in the upper Mendoza valley, where the elevations of around 3,280 feet (1,000 meters) help produce wonderful malbec, cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay.

When you arrive at your first winery, meet a member of the winery’s staff, who will tell you about the winery’s history and architecture. Learn about the winemaking process and how to appreciate the different wines, and then enjoy your first wine tasting!

Back in your minivan, head to your second winery, admiring the breathtaking scenery of vineyards shadowed by the Andes mountain range. At the winery, hop out for another wine tasting and chance to learn more about winemaking in the renowned Mendoza region.

You will visit Don Manuel Villafañe, Luigi Bosca and Altavista wineries plus a visit to Pasrai Olive Oil Factory. Enjoy a lunch of regional specialties at Pic Nic.

Definitely a reason behind our trip to Argentina! Guide well knowledgeable. Excellent winery visits and wine tasting sessions with good conversation in English with owner or their representatives. Scenery of the Andes quite spectacular.

We just didn't find the tour that exciting. There was some English from the guide and from winery staffs, but not always. The lunch turned out to be a picnic lunch under some trees that were inhabited by a flock of birds. The tables and chairs were covered with bird doo when we arrived, which didn't set a pleasant tone and even though staff cleaned it up, the birds added more, to the tables and the guests,as we tried to eat. The staff tried to charge us 25 for a car back to our hotel that we didn't want and had turned down--and which they had offered for 10 in the first place.

A tour for wine lovers only! We visited 3 beautiful wineries and an olive oil factory and had ample tastings at each one. Lunch was served picnic style on the lovely grounds of the last winery. Our tour guide was terrific. Great day!

The tour was really good.... obviously some good wines and beautiful scenery. Since I don't speak Spanish, the guide tried her best to ensure there was always someone to translate for me. I would recommend this tour!

This tour touched my soul. It was the highlight of my trip in Argentina. The tour guides were knowledgeable, the wineries beautiful, the food delicious. Last night I opened one of the wine bottles I bought during the tour and all the memories came back to mind, I got emotional....

The trip was disappointing - we signed up for an english tour and were put with a spanish group. While the guide did her best to accommodate, we still feel we missed out on a lot. Secondly, we feel it was overpriced. We would recommend picking a different tour.

Three wineries to visit. A modern one, a very old historic one and a third which was slightly larger than the others. Very good guide, Flavia, and the places were all different, wine tasting was good. We also saw an olive oil plant, again family run and historic. The birds in the gardens were parakeets and they had amazing condominium type nests. Excellent picnic at the third winery, lovely gardens there too._br/_ Great day out, fully recommend. Really nice, chilled out day sampling wine from some lovely vineyards. Our guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. Our only negative was that some of the tastings in one of the wineries were small and stingy!

Collected from our hotel by our English speaking guide and started in the first winery just after half past 10 am (it and #39;s lunchtime somewhere?). All in all a good day, the olive oil producer was so so! Great picnic lunch at Alta Vista, if I had one reservation it would be we did not try enough Malbec!

Very well organized tour. The wineries and olive oil factory were interesting and the picnic lunch at Alta Vista was lovely. All of our tours were bilingual so don't expect to hear only English.

A wonderful tour, lasts just the right amount of time. Each winery visited has its own special character and offers a unique experience both of wine and the region. Best taken with a friend, but it is still excellent if you go solo. The particular bodegas visited on this tour are helpful in guiding your approach to wine tasting - good for newbies and seasoned wine veterans alike.

Viator doesn and #39;t allow enough words to adequately describe how great this tour was. Our guide, Marina, saw very sweet and personable. The vineyards were very interesting and the staff was knowledgeable. You should go!

Great tour visiting three wineries and a olive oil factory. At the fourth stop in a vineyard we enjoyed a boxed lunch very good with a bottomless bottle of wine and sat with other members of the tour and got to know each other. Day well spent.

Visited 3 bodegas and had a picnic lunch at the last one. Well organized and operated. We learnt about the various wineries in the region as well as made a stop at an Olive Oil factory. Really enjoyed the wine tastings, and everyone was so pleasant! Great day!

the guide was really friendly and informed. imo, it would have been better to skip the olive oil factory especially the time when they do not process any and take more time wine tasting and getting to know the wine and wineries.

This is a great, relaxing tour with some of the best of Mendoza wines to taste. The guide's knowledge Martin of the area and of this wine region is excellent. Travel is kept to a minimum with most time spent at the wineries. The short trip to a small and exclusive olive oil factory producing first cold press quality oil is also well worth a visit.

We had an awesome time. Visited 3 vineyards and an olive oil factory. The vineyards were beautiful, and each tour/tasting was very informative. The tastings were great and the guides took the time to explain the proper way to taste wine. Our picnic lunch at the last winery was amazing and in a beautiful area. We had a great day!

Probably one of the best tours I had in my 2 week vacation of Argentina. Our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke great English. The wine tasting experience was fantastic and I also enjoyed my time learning about the produce of Olives at the factory. Great company too. Would strongly recommend this tour.

This is a great tour. The guide was enthusiastic, friendly and spoke excellent English. We visited 3 wineries of various styles and an olive oil factory. The tastings were good quality and we bought wine from one. The lunch was a picnic of empanadas and a steak sandwich with wine which we ate in the gardens of a winery under the olive trees - very peaceful and pleasant. Small group tours like this allow you to get to know your fellow travellers and we met some interesting people on this one. It is good trip and well worth the money.

Excellent experience. The tour guide was great. The tours (two wineries and one olive oil plant) were insightful and the tastings were great. The lunch at the last winery was excellent as well. The van was on-time and air conditioned. Highly recommended.

The tour guide was great, and the wineries were fantastic! The highlight might have actually been the last stop which was the lunch. Both the food and wine were incredible.

An activity-packed day as you visit 3 bodegas and an olive oil factory. The first bodega is one of the most commercial (owned by Diageo) and focuses more on how to taste wine properly. The second bodega is a much better tour as it is a much more traditional, family-run winery. In our opinion, the wines at the second bodega are much nicer. The olive oil factory visit isn't a long tour as the olive oil is all made in one room, but the tasting is good. Some of the oils are lovely and this was actually the only part of the tour where we were compelled to buy some of the products! The final bodega that you visit is purely for lunch, i.e. no tour, but it really is a beautiful setting for a meal! On top of everything else, Mariano he tour guide was fantastic! His English was flawless and his banter with the group really made the day. A great day out and we were done in plenty of time to catch our evening flight!

Brilliant tour with a fantastic tour guide, Emiliana. All of the wineries were beautiful and the staff did a good job of speaking to everyone in Spanish and English. The lunch was enjoyable and more food than we were expecting (3 course lunch) but it would have been nice to have more than one option.

What fun this was!!! Plenty of wine and when our guide realised I don't drink red, she managed to get me extra sample of white instead. Visited one vineyard with tasting, then went to an olive oil factoy with tasting, then onto our second vineyard with tasting, and at the third we sat outside with a glass of sparkling wine, and were then asked whether we wanted a half bottle of red or white with our picnic lunch. By the time we left we were all a little tipsy, but having a great time. We were the only English on the trip, but the guide spoke English and we got by with the other revellers. The mini bus back into Mendoza was the most hysterically funny trip I've ever had, with everyone standing in the aisle of the bus singing and dancing. Really good fun.

It was a very pleasant experience visiting 2 wineries and an olive oil factory, particularly because it was only a 1/2-day trip. Wine-tasting, as expected, was quite interesting. Also, learned a lot about the process of making olive oil. I just wish the English-speaking guide was more proficient in English since several explanations they gave left those who only understand English somewhat flummoxed.

The process of reservation and confirmation was smooth. Our tour guide was pleasant and well informed, and the bus was comfortable. I wish, however, that we had more prior information on the wineries we would be visiting. I also wish that the winery everybody talks about in relation to Mendoza--Catena Zapata--was in the tour instead of Navarro Correa, which was a bit of a let down. Labeling the tour "full day" is also misleading, since what separates it from the tour advertised as half day tour is only the lunch. If I had more information on the specifics of the itinerary, I would have made other choices.

This was a wonderful way to see the Mendoza wine region. My favorite part of the tour was the outdoor picnic. Every 2 people were given their own bottle of wine and an amazing lunch! It was so beautiful to sit outside in the Mendoza sunshine, enjoy a homemade Argentinian meal and sip on lots of delicious wine. Five stars!

This was a great tour for a great price. We opted for the half day tour without lunch (though it was really more than a half day). The tour director was pleasant and knowledgeable as were the guides at the wineries and olive oil factory. Though there were quite a few of us in the group (about 20), we were split into groups by language and therefore had much smaller groups to walk around with. This is a no-lose product! Go for it!
