Folkloric Ballet in Mexico City

Mexico City, Mexico

See the world-famous Mexico City Folkloric Ballet (Ballet Folklorico) at one of four rotating venues. You’ll witness the Mexico of yesterday and today during three hours of entertainment with beautiful folk songs and dances, including mariachi music. The onstage energy and dancers in their fabulous costumes make it the 'Best Dance Show of the World in Mexico'! Accompaniment by a guide plus hotel pickup and drop-off from downtown Mexico City, Reforma or Polanco are included with your admission.

The nightlife in Mexico City is second to none and provides an enormous variety of entertainment – but this is one show not to be missed!

For approximately sixty years the Ballet Folklorico of Mexico, founded by artistic director Amalia Hernandez, has performed more than 15,000 shows to 22 million people worldwide. The folk dance company preserves Mexico’s traditional arts by filming dances, recording music and photographing costumes from regions throughout Mexico, and presents these forms on stage.

Marvel at the dancers in their magnificent costumes – including multi-colored shawls, embroidered shirts, sombreros, fans and ribbons – as they entertain audiences of all ages. You’ll enjoy this vibrant spectacle full of movement and exciting rhythms that delight the senses.

As you listen to the music and watch each choreographed dance, learn about the folk traditions from various populations in Mexico – from the Mayan Empire of the Yucatan Peninsula to the cowboy cultures of Spanish-colonized Jalisco.

Excellent show. Non stop bright Mexican dancing and music. Wonderful costumes. Well worth the money and time. The building itself is a gorgeous and worth the visit on its own.

When booking this tour several months ago we were not informed that the Ballet would be presented in an outdoor venue. Outdoors in January! It had rained that day, so the stage and the seats were wet. The show began and the rain returned with wind and temperatures in the 40's. The show was stopped because dancers were slipping and falling on the stage and we were getting soaked and shivering in the cold. We were most dissatisfied with this.

The ballet is an amazing show, however this tour is a ripoff. The tour is expensive, but the seats we had were in the third floor of the theater. Therefore the show was barely visible from that height. Also the driver told us the van would be in the sample place after the show and it wasn and #39;t. Poor.

The folkloric ballet was absolutely stunning, and getting the chance to go inside the Palacio de Bellas Artes was a breathtaking experience myself and companions will never forget. The transportation to and from our hotel was smooth and very professional.

When I made the reservation I specified our hotel, the BW Majestic. When we arrived in Mex. City I received an e-mail stating a pickup at a different hotel. That took a phone call to straighten out. The pickup was on time, etc. We were picked up in a car and delivered/returned. Driver was pleasant and professional. However, it was pretty expensive for a short ride. I'd not been to Mex. City before. Now I realize I could have easily walked or taken a taxi to the venue and back. Not worth the cost--I should have purchased the tickets and gotten to the Ballet Folklorico myself.

I was extremely disappointed to have paid a lot of money for a tour that was only a ride from a hotel not mine! to the event. No additional information given. I tried to engage the guide in conversation in Spanish and English but he was too busy looking for the other people on the tour to talk to me. I could have easily taken a cab from my own hotel! to the venue, seen the show and saved a lot of money. I am extremely unhappy and put your tour in the category of rip off.

The worst! Printed voucher/ electronic voucher was not accepted. and #34;Complimentary pick up and #34; was late so we left. The ballet didn and #39;t accept our vouchers, no one spoke English to explain. Turns out the bus had the actual tickets but it and #39;s a and #34;complimentary pick up?. Late 15 min into the show

We were ready as requested at 7:15 at the Hotel lobby. After 2 phone calls from the agency advising they were on their way, they finally arrived at our Hotel at 8:10pm. Obviously to late for the Show marked for 8:30pm. The guide tried to convince me sometimes the Show is late and only starts at 9:pm. Sad but obviously we lost some 10 or 15 minutes of the Show._br/_ What was left of the Show was fantastic, even though we were seated at the top very end of the Theater.

Ballet was awesome, speechless. However, tour poorly organized, poor information, we weren't told Viator was going to pick us up, didn't have tickets with them when we complained. Had already paid for private cab to get there, no one picking the phone, viator told us half hour advance they were picking us up and then got there early and didn't want to give us the tickets until we complained loudly.

Among all the tours I booked through Viator for my trip in Mexico City, this one has the poorest value. To be more specific, this tour is supposed to be called a ballet ticket plus a cab. The tour description says that a professional guide is included, so I was expecting that there would be a guide to help us learn some information about the history and culture of the show. The driver there was no guide of our tour didn't give us any information about the show or Mexico City. He barely talked to us, in fact. The performance itself was great. However, the ticket price does NOT match the cost of the tour, not at all. You can see the actual ticket price when you get your ticket. The show I watched was worth much less than what I paid. I booked the tour because I travelled alone. I thought it would be safer for me to pay more and join a tour for a show at night. Nevertheless, from what I got, I say the tour is not worth doing. You can easily book the tickets through various ways, and get a safe cab for transportation -- that way, you will save some time without waiting for the car to pick up/ drop off other people, and get a better deal.

The ballet was magnificent. The special Navidades en Mexico was on the esplanade of the Castillo de Chapultepec Chapultepec Castle and was an outdoor Christmas extravaganza of colorful costumes and rich Mexican history, culture and heritage. The transportation shuttles were a bit uncoordinated, but I was picked up at my hotel and dropped off afterwards, so it all worked out.

Espantoso.

Ballet was great. The price of the tickets were grossly overcharged. You would be better off buying tickets direct and taking a cab. There are plenty of seats available since this show has been running for decades

The ballet was wonderful EXCEPT that we were told at the last minute that it would not be at Bayes Artes . It was outside at the castle at Chapultepec, which was fine but cold. No programs or information, no blankets..his would have been delightful if the weather had been a bit warmer or if we had been prepared for the elements. The program itself was lovely, and quite dramatic in the outdoors._br/_ Viator driver was very nice, as was the guide.

The only thing i did nt like is that your website advertised the wrong time. it was scheduled in the evening and your website mentioned 9 ;00 am. I sent an email to the local tour operator if a viator person would meet us at our hotel lobby. I did not get any reply considering i sent the email on a friday and a saturday. i even had to call viator and the victor called the local agency. in short, i had to pay extra P 3,000 as the call took some time especially i called from a hotel room. I tried calling the number of the local tour operator and there was no answer . i dont know if it was becasue it was on a sunday.

I had emailed the company about getting picked up for the Ballet Folklorico at The Red Tree House where were stayed. She responded that the pick-up would be between 19:15 and 19:30 hours. I questioned the time as the information I had printed stated show time at 19:00 hours. She just said to be ready between 19:15 and 19:30 hours. Due to the immense traffic problems in Mexico City, the host at The Red Tree House decided with your designated driver that he would not make it by 19:30 hours so at 19:40 hours, the host, Victor literally walked us to the Metro and rode with us to our transfer station so that we could get to the Bellas Artes museum. We missed the first 15 minutes of the Ballet Folklorico by the time we arrived, met the dirver and exchanged our vouchers for tickets. That was pretty disappointing and ruined the full experience of the ballet. The traffic in Mexico City should be factored in for any hotel pick-up. I will certainly consider this in the future before I book with you folks. The Red Tree House did a much better job of getting us to our excursions.

We have been very happy with our experiences with Viator until this particular encounter in Mexico City. The website described 'Guaranteed Excellent Seats' for the show, but they failed to tell the customers that their idea of excellent seats are in the nose-bleed section. At the theatre when we discovered that our seats were the most distanced seats from the stage. We inquired about better seats, the guide made us paid additional 20USD in order for us to sit in the second worst section of the theatre. Let's say my bincoulars were very helpful during the entire show. _br /__br /_ DO NOT book this show, or if you do, make sure you verify with Viator in advance of the actual seating location of your ticket!!!!!
