We were impressed with our guide - Salvatore Pepe. He had a wealth of knowledge to share and took great care of us! The tour offers you breathtaking sights of the Alps. The train is heated this is a valuable feature as the tourists prefer to keep all windows open at least in the summer, when we took our tour to take better photos - and the temperature in the Alps drops steeply as the train climbs. Be sure to bring along a sweatshirt! Don't be fooled by hot weather in Milan! - Once you climb up into the mountains, the temperature cools off rapidly!

Hubby and I took this tour and enjoyed it thoroughly. Loved it so much I went back the next summer and brought my parents along who enjoyed it even more. One of the most beautiful train rides in the world, period. The Italian town where you board is a great place to experience an authentic lunch and do some shopping before you board. St. Moritz is such a picture postcard city. Definitely check out the delicious chocolate stores there. The bus ride back is absolutely stunning. Highly recommend this tour!

This was an amazing trip with some wonderful scenery all along the way. The rail trip was excellent despite nearly missing it due to the group leader moving off from the agreed meeting point far too early!! Maybe not enough time given to us at St. Moritz to have a good look round. It was a long day but well worth it seeing some incredible sights.

The Italian company that runs the trip, made us wait in the rain early in the morning before boarding the bus. The bus seats did not have much leg-room and I am only 5'8 and I can imaging how difficult it would be for a 6-foot person. There was no bathroom in the bus, which is inconvenient for a fairly long trip. Viator should negotiate better quality buses. Nowadays buses can be fancy and luxurious.

Our family took the Swiss Alps Bernina Express tour from Milan, and enjoyed our experience. The trip was perfect from the beginning and the our guide and driver, Antonella and Marco were very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this tour, it has amazing views all over the way to St. Moritz.

The Bernina Express Rail Tour was excellent with breath taking scenery and views of the Swiss Alps. Now, with total transparency, I will tell you that if you have the access and opportunity to do this train on your own from Tirano that you would save a bunch of money and it would be the way to go. That being said, if you are staying in Milan with no access to Tirano like my family then this tour becomes highly attractive and is totally worth it. They dont really give you an agenda when you purchase your tickets, which would be nice, but they do lay out the plan for the day at the beginning of the tour. We started out early at 7am, drove for about 2hours and took a 30 minute breakfast/ washroom break. The tour guide pointed out spots of interest and local tidbits throughout the day. Then drove again to Tirano where we toured the cathedral and had a little bit of free time before lunch. The tour guide offered a lunch to the group at a local restaurant at the cost of 16 EU they gave half price for our kids. It was good, not great, and allowed fast service to get back to the bus. The option to venture on your own was offered as long as you met back at the designated time. We then boarded the train shortly before 1. This was the highlight of trip. The scenery was beautiful as the train moved slowly through the Alps. We were allowed to lower the windows to get great pictures, which isnt allowed on the panoramic cars of the train. If it is winter, please dress appropriately! There were some folks on our tour that werent happy with the windows down, but most of us loved it. It was breathtaking, enjoyable, and fun! Our pictures were great! After we arrived in St. Moritz we were allowed a short amount of free time. We walked into town for some hot chocolate and picked out some candies to take back. The bus drove us back through the mountains which allowed for some more pleasant scenery. We didnt arrive back to our starting point until close to 8:00. I highly reccomend this tour for people staying in Milan with no car who have a free day to head up to the Swiss Alps. But know what the day is going to be, I reccomend to the tour company to advertise the itinerary on the tour page.

This trip was absolutely beautiful and worth it. The guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining and the sights were incredible. Everything ran smoothly and there was adequate time for each activity. My only suggestion would be to provide a trip itinerary in advance- we honestly didn't know what to expect, but had heard good things so we went for it. All in all, I highly recommend.
