This was not a ghost walking tour. It was a Old Montreal History Tour with very little discussions about ghost. We have taken tours like this all over the US and this was not at all what it was supposed to be. Great tour guide but not what the topic says. Should be titled History Tour.

Our guide Mr. E effectively delivered fun ghost stories and had fun interactions with the group as we moved across Old Montreal. Can see how this wouldn't be for everyone, but it was a great cap to a long day.

This tour was the only huge dispointment on our trip. I had hoped it would provide a fun way to see the city at night and instead it was so awful we left the tour early. Perhaps with a different storyteller it would be interesting. He don't know his name as he never told us it started out by intimidating the young kids- I doubt he had any experience with kids because they looked very uncomfortable anterior that. My kids were older, so he ignored them. The biggest problem was the leader was not interactive except yelling at the youngest child in the group whatsoever. We would walk in front of a building, he would stand there and tell a ghost story in a thick fake accent, and then march off to the next building with all the tour participants clamoring behind. I'm not sure why we bothered to ever leave the ally because he never connected with the group or made us feel connected to Montreal.

I'm sorry but this walking tour was awful. Our guide who said his name so garbled we didn't even catch it was so over the top he actually made people uncomfortable. A few of his jokes addressed to the young ones in the group were borderline inappropriate.The nuggets of historical information were interesting, but again, the guide dragged out every story, trying to make them more dramatic than the stories deserved. We actually lost track of the story line in our guide's spiel several times, it was so confusing. We thought the dark alley with the projected images was cool, but our guide never tied it in to a story. We hung in there as long as we could, hoping the tour would get better, but we got so bored we dropped out after 60 mins. We would never recommend this tour, based on the experience we had with our guide. In contrast, the daytime Walking Tour of Old Montreal was wonderful. Perhaps the Ghost Walk and Dark Encounters would have been a better ghost walk.

This was a unique and interesting tour to go on. Overall, I would recommend this tour but your experience will solely be based on your tour guide. It was exactly what my family and I had predicted the tour to be like. Tales of hauntings and deaths were told as we walked around Old Montreal in the evening. The tour guides all arrived dressed in spooky outfits which really added to the overall mood of the tour.

This tour was completely worth it. Our guide, Mr E, had a terrific stage presence. It was so much fun to see how well he wove whatever was really happening around us. A truck rumbling by noisily when he was recreating a prayer that saved the first settlers, so he dramatically yelled at them that they were getting in the way of his being saved. It was very easy to see that Mr E was really invested in all the stories and legends he was telling us.He'd obviously done a TON of research about the stories on his own, going around and talked to various owners and neighbors of the places that are haunted. He actually got to go into the cells of the Last Days under the court house once, by approaching a security guard when he arrived at an event unexpectedly early. This gave an extra depth to his descriptions, as they were so vivid coming from him He was so much fun to listen to. _br/_ Mr E was very good at working with the younger people on the tour, giving them a chance to engage on their own level, as well as working and adapting various facts for people who were from either elsewhere in Canada, or the States such as myself. We were all given the feeling that we were being included on an equal level._br/_ At the very end of the tour, after answering any questions we had, Mr E even helped us with directions back to the nearest metro._br/_ I would highly recommend this tour to other people, visitors and locals alike, and my hostess has said that she would like to take more people who she sees to see the tour as well.

It was right up there with other Ghost Tours we have been on. Good stories and a lot of great history. I would have rated it higher but in none of the documentation, in none of the receipts or confirmations and really no where could we find where we were to meet for the walk. We had to hunt it down using the Visitor's Center and our Hotel staff and even that was not easy.

It was terrible! Beside being given NO directions from Viator how to meet up and get the proper tags to participate- It was the worst tour I have ever been on. This tour consisted of a character actor telling me how scared I was going to be. He told very few area related stories. He spent more time running around screaming loudly to shock us. It was like watching an out of work actor do one painful monologue after another. My husband, son, and I had to sneak away after he finished one story so as not to make him feel bad._br/_
Do yourself a favor- Skip this one!...I also have to tell you-Viator was really not very helpful with directions-Each tour I picked and paid for, I was left wondering Montreal for assistance looking how to get to my paid event. Viator nevr give detailed info-Just a general location and time...I had to both many shop keepers trying to figure out where to go. I WILL never book through Viator again_ save your Money.

I would say that this can easily be skipped. First there were way too many people - maybe 25 or 30. Our guide "Mr E" walked so fast that most of us were jogging after him. I actually considered just walking away at the first stop, but I though it might get better. Several of us asked him to slow down, but he couldn't seem to comply. That aside, there was really nothing "ghosty" about the ghost tour. Just some stops where ghosts has been "seen" or "heard". Probably the best part (if there was a best part) was the courthouse and the area where public hangings were carried out. Don't spend you money.

We go on ghost tours in almost every city we visit. It is a fun way to learn about the darker history of a town. This was my least favorite tour I have been on. The guide was okay but overly dramatic and the stories lacked the history that makes them interesting.

On the Wednesday evening we were there, our tour was given in English with over 30 people in it. This was much too large a group for this tour and it should have been cut off at a smaller number of participants. The stories aren't so much "ghost" stories as they are historical tales about scary things that have happened in a particular spot.

The Guide that I had was not well versed and most definitely not a story teller. It took him forever to tell a story and then not very well. Too many hms and ahs; too many lapses in the story; couldn't remember names, etc.. We never went to any particular area or building that was supposed to be haunted. He walked too fast and some of us had to actually run to keep up; he never looked back to see if everyone in the group was up to his speed. All in all the cost was too much for this particular event and I personally would not recommend it.

This tour was a great disappointment. Our tour guide was terrible. Where were the spooky or scary stories and the ghost actors? Instead, our guide was presenting historical tidbits. This tour was so bad we left in the middle of it. This tour needs verifiable ghost stories and guides that are comfortable telling these stories. We do not recommend this tour.

We attended the Friday tour as were busy the other days. This is the one where actors along the way act out various scenes. Apparently the tour on the other days of the week is just a talk at various stops which would have been better for us. The tour was well organized, and worth the $. The actors were hammy but still entertaining. The only down side was they do get in your face, perhaps at least a two foot zone could be suggested.
