The island itself is wonderful. Beach is beautiful. However, snorkeling is boring. We can only snorkel along the beach which we did not see anything. _br/_ For some reason, the vessel traveled 1 hour more than it is announced at first. We totally spent nearly 6 hours on the vessel but only 4.5 hours on the island._br/_ I do not like how Viator do these work. They provided no enough info about this day cruise only if I ask them where do we board a vessel and when should I be at the port.

We had a great day, but first, one piece of information that we wish we knew but didn't when we made reservations for multiple one-day trips to the islands. If you are making reservations for multiple day trips to several islands, the same boat serves each of the islands. So, we went to Mana to catch the Seaspray one day and we went to Castaway another day--Mana takes about 90 minutes each way and Castaway takes 120 minutes, and the first 90 minutes of both days were the same i.e., same boat goes to South Sea Island, Mana, Castaway and others. Castaway Island is beautiful. The island limits the number of day trippers, and everyone on the island knows who you are since you have to wear an armband. There are limits on how much of the resort you can explore. Having said that, the buffet lunch was very good, we had no problem finding chairs with shade by the beach, we were able to use the two pools as well, the snorkeling was good and everyone on the island was very nice to us. I was wondering if we would have too much time on the island, but the time went very quickly and we could have gladly used more. Highly recommend this trip.

Very nice beach and clearer water. Food is limited but good. Asked to go on the jungle walk, like an uphill hike but great views from up there nice and quite. They have a lot of activities you can pay for additionally on the island that make this a good tour. Big island but you are limited to the beach area and jungle walk. Nicer snorkeling here.

Nice island, amazing lunch, snorkelling is average. Bush walks and facilities and pool of 5 start quality. This is a high end resort compared to some of the backpacker type of resorts. Has multiple bars and restaurants and caters to a more upmarket crowd.

Overall positive - punctual hotel pick up bordering early as well as prompt port departure and return. The boat trip was comfortable and enjoyable and the lunch on the island was delicious and filling._br/_
What was confusing was the usage of non-motorised water facilities such kayaks on the island. Tour guide confirmed that they are all complimentary and each time was told by the desk staff that they cost FJD10. After to'ing and fro'ing 3 times between them I was told by the tour guide that she 'had not been to the island for some time'._br/_
Eventually, when we went to hire a 2 kayaks, we got them for free!_br/_
Whilst the water is clear and warm, the island beach was not what I had imagined with seaweed and coral very close to the beach, as well as the warning signs for sting rays obviously outside of the tour operator's control.

We really liked the boat cruise, but the transportation back to our resort was really poor and not safe. Apparently my wife and I were not on the return trip list and we were told to get off the bus or pay $200 to get back to our resort. There was a heated discussion between myself and three of the bus people until a ladt from the office came out and said I was right and told me to get back on the bus. This angered the driver who drove crazy and scared us passengers. Tailgating other cars who then hit their brakes, driving real fast in the rain which made the bus sway from side to side, running over traffic cones, hitting the speed bumps before and after each village really hard, stopping for a friend about half way through the trip. It scared my wife so I'm sure it scared the other passengers.

We really enjoyed this cruise, the ship stopped at several other islands on the way to Castaway Island so we had a chance to get a glimpse of other Fiji islands. Castaway itself was beautiful, a lovely beach where we went snorkelling. The hire of flippers and face masks was included. After a nice lunch we went snorkelling again and then had a swim in one of the resort pools until it was time for the ship to pick us up again. It was an enjoyable day although long, we were picked up before 8am and didn't get back to our hotel till 6pm.

I highly recommend doing this day trip to Castaway Island if you are visiting Fiji such a beautiful island from the crystal blue waters to their 5 star service at the bar and restaurant our tour guide was very informative as well I had forgotton her name though. If you wan't peace, quiet and relaxation, this is the place to go. The beach is white, soft and sandy. The water is very calm. The water has some sea grass/sea weed at the bottom( just wear water shoes if you don't like it.) The snorkeling was just ok and if you do want to snorkel pickup up your gear right away. They ran out so my mom and I had to share a snorkel set. The food was included and good and the staff was friendly. Plus you get to see other islands while you boat to Castaway Island. Just a note this is NOT where they filmed the movie Castaway Island, that is located on another island called Modriki. I would highly recommend this tour-great snorkeling, good food, you must like to be on a boat and you get to see the Yanua village on Yanua island.

Beautiful!! The day began with Resort pick up to the ship then off to the island. The various stops along the way provided a unique multi-island site seeing trip. The ship was comfortable and spacious with the staff professional. Castaway Island was beautiful, snorkeling gear was easily accessable and clean, and lunch on the beach was professionally prepared, filling and tasted great. The seven of us had a fun, relaxing and fantastic time. The staff on Castaway welcomed us with songs of greetings, open arms, always ready for picture taking, open tours, hammocks, and well versed on site seeing items. The return trip on the ship and Resort drop off was timely. Highly recommend this trip!!!!

The day trip to Castaway island was amazing. Trip out on the boat was great because you stop at other islands, a great way to see other islands. Then you are free to enjoy the day however you like. We chose lazing on the beach and snorkelling in the blue waters! Great day out, highly recommend it!!!

The Island was amazing and we had a wonderful time. Snorkeling was great. We were disappointed that on the way home we thought the tour included free drinks and entertainment but on the boat we were told it wasn't included and to get that we had to pay extra... Would have been a perfect end to a perfect day relaxing back with a glass of wine. I think this should be sorted out as we feel we didn't get what we paid for.

The transfer transport was not of a standard that I would expect. On the way home the mini bus had to get changed and there was no suspension really fun for 2hrs... That's the bad stuff. South Seas were excellent, the staff were fantastic, and Castaway island is so beautiful. We could have stayed there forever.We are definitely going back there one day for a holiday. Food was awesome too.

This day cruise was amazing! There is no other way to explain it. Transfers were arranged to and from our resort. It took 2.5 hours to get to the island on the cruiseboat/yacht but you get to see all the other islands on the way which was fantastic. The boat has a kiosk/bar and toilet facilities and a sun deck. The only downside was that it was a little bit crowded. But as everyone gets off to go to their island it frees up a lot of space.
The island itself is beautiful and the lunch provided was enough to fill us up and more! We snorkelled, kayaked swam and sun baked. We wanted to jet ski but unfortunately it was fully booked out.
Everything was so easy and it was such a relaxing day. I just wish we could have stayed on the island for longer! While you're there just relax on Fiji time!
