Capri Day Trip with Lunch from Naples

Naples, Italy

Visit the dazzling Mediterranean island of Capri on this tour from Naples. The perfect day-trip destination from mainland Italy, Capri will charm you with its craggy coastline, colorful harbors, Imperial Roman villas and hilltop views over the sea. Ride a high-speed hydrofoil to the island, and get recommendations from your guide for your free time in the village of Anacapri: take the chairlift up Monte Solare, venture to the Blue Grotto or explore dreamy Villa San Michele. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and finish with a guided tour of the Gardens of Augustus.

You’ll be picked up from your selected location — the Naples train station or your Naples hotel — and taken to the main harbor for your journey to Capri.

Board a high-speed hydrofoil for an exciting 40-minute ride to the island of Capri. Arriving at the port, transfer to a minibus and head to the lovely village of Anacapri, where you'll enjoy one hour of free time to explore at your own leisure and expense.
Ride the chairlift up to Monte Solare for spectacular views of the island and the Bay of Naples, take a boat ride to the dazzling Blue Grotto, or walk to Villa San Michele, the dream home of the famous Swedish doctor Axel Munthe. One of Capri’s most-visited attractions, this must-see sight was built on the ruins of an ancient chapel dedicated to San Michele, and gazes over the whole island and the Gulf of Naples.
Your guide can give recommendations on things to do and see based on your interests. Or you can simply park yourself at a café terrace, admire the scenery and soak up the cool Mediterranean vibes.
Reconvene with your group for a 3-course lunch at a local restaurant. In the early afternoon, take a walk with your guide to the Gardens of Augustus. These hillside botanic gardens offer beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea and the famous Faraglioni rock formations.
At the end of the day, re-board the hydrofoil for the ride back to Naples.

This tour was helpful if just arriving in the area and needed guidance with bus boats etc. Guide did not do much else. Lunch was mediocre and en masse producers toon. More tourists than Italians on the Island. Too much waiting around for other people to arrive late for us etc. not well planned. Gorgeous weather and loved being on the sea.

This is well a put together tour. There is a good choice of things to see and do during the day. Our guide, Domenico, was very knowledgeable and helpful. The highlight for us was the blue grotto. It was absolutely amazing! The grotto was initially closed due to bad weather when we left for Capri, but opened soon after we arrived. Domenico somehow managed to get us there ahead of the crowds and we were fortunate not to have any wait in line. We would have also ridden the chairlift from Anacapri, but for low cloud. Altogether, a very enjoyable day.

Fabrizio was a wonderful guide! We visited during the off season, and a rainy day yet we enjoyed our time in Capri and Anacapri! Our guide was knowledgeable and shared the history and flavor of the island with us. We samples limoncello, visited the churches, the Mama Mia bridge and had a delicious lunch. Gorgeous scenic vistas every where you look! A must see when visiting the region!

Anyone who visits Capri in August or September is making a mistake. Way too many people. It was not really enjoyable and Viator is not really to blame. If it is so crowded that you could not even fall over, that is not enjoyable for me no matter how had the guide tries.

Very good exercusion. lots to do and see, Capri is a beautiful island well worth a visit. The Guide was very informative and fun. We had to take a later ferry back but this was not a problem as we got to see a bit more of the Island. Some people needed to get back on time so the guide made sure he got them tickets for an earlier ferry.

My expectation is that a guide should make sure that all of the group are there before they take off....not these guys! _br/_ There was no descriptive explanation about the places other than on the bus up to Ana Capri. The group was disconnected 3 times and it took another participant to let the guide know that people were missing which meant the missed the tour of Capri town.

The experience of Capri was incredible. The day is so well planned. You have plenty of time to do whatever you wish to do and you have just the right amount of time with the guide so you know where you are and what you have the option of doing in each area of Capri. The food at lunch was great and the sights are just to die for. There is an added cost at the end to have the option to ride around the island on a boat... DO IT! It's about an hour and it is so beautiful and even the tour guide on the boat is fun and nice. Great time.

Capri is beautiful! We were picked up/dropped off in Naples which was convenient. The lunch was delicious. I definitely recommend doing the chair lifts in Anacapri - beautiful views! The only downfall was that we didn't have sufficient time do the Blue Grotto. The best frozen lemonade I've ever had was in Capri. The little round lemon hard candies sold there are delicious also! I wish we would have bought more! Overall, great tour!

The tour guide at Capri was not interested in providing any information. He just dropped us of at the various locations and told us to look around and meet him at the meeting point. It was a wierd experience. However the island is pretty and the transporation to and fro was organized in a timely manner.

Capri was amazing, not the tour I'm afraid. Our guide hardly paid any attention to those speaking English. I could have done it on my own. He was just a facilitator, herding us into the ferry and off it/ into the minivan, off it - with long waits in between

This trip was a HUGE rip off. You pay an obscene amount of money up front, and then are still expected to shell out additional high sums of money once you are in Capri. I would not recommend this trip to anyone. You will learn nothing from your guide and will waste time waiting in long lines with the rest of your group. The lunch is terrible. Buy it on your own from a different restaurant if you have already booked this trip. I would recommend going to Capri on your own and seeing the sights at your own pace. It'll be cheaper and better.

Once we arrived at Capri - amazing!!!_br/_ The sea was very rough and boats to transport people to the island were either cancelled or departed very late therefore limited time in Capri.

This tour doesn't worth the money spent. I've paid 114 euro for one person 2.5 euro for pick-up from hotel. The tour included only transport from Naples to Capri round trip and a lunch in Capri. The other expenses were on our own. At least they could have included in this enormous costs either the funicular 11 euro/ pers or boat trip 18 euro/ pers which we had to pay by ourselves. And we didn't have enough time in AnaCapri, just an hour and we managed to go only with the funicular and then we had just 30 mins in Capri. _br/_ I would strongly suggest to go by your own. There are plenty of ferries from Naples to Capri and outbound. The price is 20 euro per person one way. You could easily save 50 euro or buy something pretty for yourselves.

What a delightful day! The Leva brothers were SO considerate, so helpful and so much fun! All went smoothly, even considering the fact that we had to wait in line for about 1 1/2 hours to get in to see the Blue Grotto. This is optional, but oh so worth it!! The ferry ride was simple, the bus to take us up to Anacapri was AMAZING - along the Mamma Mia road! Lunch was great! Scenery is outstanding, shops were fun, and getting dropped back at the hotel was a bonus. Would recommend this tour!

Organised by Project Napoli Service._br/_ We were looking forward to this Capri day Trip With Lunch trip!!!!._br/_ What a disappointment._br/_ We arrived at Capri and It was very crowded and we soon found out why, cruise ship passengers._br/_ The worst thing was waiting for the mini/busses to arrive in between destinations. _br/_ We arrived and waited for the bus to take us to Capri town. Buses arrived, filled up and departed. After about 40 mins one of our group asked what was going on._br/_ She was told that Cruise ship visitors were given priority. After that there was no communication at all other than our guide muttering that our bus was soon, another 30 minutes in hot sun._br/_ This pattern was repeated at each stage of our trip and two of our party got a public bus as it became clear that our day trip to see the sights was going to be a stand around and wait for a bus trip._br/_ Lunch was ok,_br/_ We did manage to do the chair lift but only just._br/_ At each stage we were given departure times but they were pointless as yet again people met them only to have to wait well after them for transport._br/_ My partner is probably 90 as mobile as most people of her age and lagged behind on the frogmarch from the coach drop-off to the square before the Augustus Garden. The day was hot and the area crowded. _br/_ We were told that there would not be enough time to do the tour of the Garden other than a fleeting visit as we had to get back for the ship,_br/_ It was suggested that my partner and I leave earlier, given her mobility problems so that we got back to the rendezvous point for the coach on time and did not slow the rest of group down to enable it to depart on time for the port..........not._br/_ If we added up all the pointless waiting two hours easily and it had been used for sightseeing i suspect this trip would have been the one advertised and anticipated._br/_ Considering that the cost was 100 each transport should have been far, far better organised._br/_ So be warned if there is a cruise ship or ships in port and your guide is as ineffective as ours your trip will become a Capri standing around trip.

Good tour of Capri and views from the top of the hill was spectacular. The Blue Grotto was amazing, you have to insist with the guide that you want to go there instead of the recommended island tour, which is easier for the guide to coordinate.

Cannot recommend this. The tour guide was late so had to wait. We then had to wait for a bus, we then had to wait for another bus... there is a theme here. The lunch was tasty but the waiter took my plate from me whilst I was still eating. I would suggest doing at your own pace.

The guided tour is run by PNS, Project Napoli Services. We booked three Viator tours, and they were all run by the same company. The other two were fabulous, but the Capri day trip was such a disappointment. Had it not been for the horrible guide, Domenico, it would have been more bearable. He was always texting or talking on his phone, and couldn't be bothered to explain what we were seeing or what was coming next ... absolutely nothing!! Worst guide I've ever encountered. He was rude to another woman in our group when she asked him a simple question of ... What are we going to be doing here?, and his reply was, enough, enough!! ... Also, he'd say meet back here in half an hour, then we would have to wait for an additional hour in the hot sun, for a shuttle bus to arrive to take us up to Anacapri. He could have waited in line for us, as there seemed to be a shuttle bus coordinator at both places, but he made us stand there and wait for another hour with him, after having only 30 mins to look around the beautiful town of Capri and shop. He wouldn't let us know what was happening or how many other tour guides were ahead of him to get their groups on shuttle buses. I had to walk across the parking lot to find him and ask when would might be leaving. And at the last stop, a poor woman in our group ... not the same one as before, was a little older and didn't walk very fast, was told that she should stay behind and not walk to the gardens with the rest, as she would hold up the group!! What the hell? For those who have dreamed of going to Capri their whole lives, like us, it was a major disappointment ... and mainly because of the guide that day!!

This tour involved being escorted from one queue for public transport to another. So we spent a large amount of time standing around waiting. There was no special transport for the tour, which we had expected given the (high) price of the tour. So we could have done the tour on our own easily.

Woeful! The local operator did not confirm our booking or the meeting point - unlike other operators who sent emails. I had to make a number of phone calls to confirm. Then the male guide for the day did not add anything to the day. This is not to say I would not recommend going to Capri. On the contrary, it is a fantastic place. The best parts of the day were the two options - the chairlift ride to Anacapri and the boat trip around the island. These should not be missed. The guide met us for the boat trip to Capri, disappeared, took us by mini bus onto Capri, suggested the optional chairlift and then met us to take us to lunch. The pasta content of lunch was woeful. Then the guide collected us, suggested an optional boat ride, took our money but did not give us any change and then met us after the boat trip for the boat trip home. Choose another provider is my recommendation.

The tour was fun because it was a and #34;worry-free and #34; experience ! All the transportations to Capri and on the island were well organized so that we never had to wait ! The best parts of the trip for me were the extra activities (mount solar funicular and boat tour) which we could do on our free time, they are really worth it !! However, I thought the 3 course lunch was disappointing. The service was precipitated and we were given much smaller portions than what other clients were given. We had to pay extra for our drinks, which would have been ok if they were not overpriced (4€ for small water....). The guides were really fun and spoke many languages to accomodate people on the trip, but I wish we had more infomation about Capri, as the tour was not as informative as I expected. It would have been great to have an extra activity included.

A great trip, and really well organised by our guides. Very efficient service and organisation. I would recommend going to Capri very early or late season, though, as it was busy enough when we went, and this was the first week of the season! The blue grotto is definitely worth going into, as is doing the round the island tour by boat. The lunch in Anacapri was good. A great day!

Capri é linda! Vale a visita. No geral valeu a pena.

Worst tour I have been on. _br/_ 1 We were on a tour of six people. We are English speakers, but the other four attendees were French speakers. The tour guide knew this and translated in French and English to an extent, but since we were in the minority, we were inevitably ignored most of the time. I had to continually remind our guide to translate for us in English._br/_ 2 Our tour guide asked us whether we wanted to do the Blue Grotto. I said we were more interested in Mont Solare based on the description, we had to choose. He indicated there was plenty of time for both, so we said, sure. We found out later that while there was time for both, by saying yes to the Blue Grotto, we wouldn't have time to wander around Anacapri on our own, which is one of the main things we were looking forward to._br/_ 3 The Blue Grotto cost an additional 28 euro per person for what amounted to about 5 minutes. Our guide had told us to leave our bags on the bus. We therefore didn't have money with us for a tip...this was our fault...we should have thought of it, but the guy with the boat was still getting paid the boat guy paid 14 euro each to take us in, so still received 14 euro per person for 5 mins. He said something to our tour guide as we exited the boat. Our tour guide said we were complained about for not tipping so he tipped for us. I reimbursed our guide, but it was super awkward...we felt embarrassed, and our tour guide made no attempt to put us at ease even though we apologized profusely. _br/_ 4 We got to the restaurant in Anacapri for lunch, and our guide told us to sit down. Only 4 of us on the tour had lunch included. It was the two of us and two french speakers sitting at a table together...we tried to be polite to one another, but couldn't communicate and it was verrrry awkward. Our tour guide disappeared after leading us to the table, and we didn't see him again until after lunch. Again, no attempt to put us at ease or make us comfortable. _br/_ 5 After lunch we were given 45 minutes to spend in Anacapri. As indicated above, we really wanted to take the chairlift to Mont Solare and wander around Anacapri, but since we'd gone to the Blue Grotto, there wasn't time for both. I rushed up Mont Solare which was quite amazing...don't miss it!, but then it was time to leave._br/_ 6 We went to the gardens of Augustus which were beautiful, and were given about an hour of free time after. However, besides the gardens, there wasn't much to do around there...a lot of places were closed, and there were mostly designer shops in that area anyway, which I have no interest in or money for. Would have preferred this time at Anacapri. After walking around a bit, we basically just stood around waiting for our tour guide to return. Poor timing.

Amazing ! One of the best tours that you will ever take in your life. Breathtaking views, excellent food lunch included....at one of the best Italian restaurants in Capri . Keep your camera handy at all the times and keep your purse loaded too....excellent shopping high end brands as well as local stuff. Dont miss this ever._br/_ PS : if you have motion sickness, the transfer by Speed Boats ships actually might make you sick.... particularly when you go from Naples to Capri. The return journey is very smooth, surprisingly.

Well organized with time to ourselves to wander around in 2 parts of Capri. The chairlift is a must, spectacular views. As the grotto was closed, we did no do the boat trip around the island and speaking with others in our group they said it was not worth the money. We sat at a lovely bar drinking cocktails instead. Quite a relaxing day.

Lovely trip out to the island of Capri. Our transfer was on time, and upon arrival in Capri our guide Pepe got us to the launch site for the Blue Grotto asap cash only for this part, approx. 30 euro pp. We missed the general crowd which gave us enough time to take the chair lift to the top of the island card OK, 11 euro pp. Lunch was enjoyable, and there was enough free time after to explore Capri itself.
