Your guide will pick you up from your chosen Naples location in the morning. Your day starts with a 2-hour coach tour of Naples’ highlights.
Admire Castel Nuovo (New Castle), a symbolic royal structure dating back to 1279, and see San Francesco di Paola church in Piazza del Plebiscito, the city's main square.
Hop off the coach to explore the area around the Royal Palace of Naples, one of the four residences used by the Bourbon Kings during their rule of the Kingdom of Two Sicilies from 1730 to 1860. Enter the dome of Naples Cathedral to learn about the significance of this grand church. Your last stop in Naples is the hill-top Posillipo quarter, where you'll pause to enjoy panoramic views of the city and the Bay of Naples.
Drive 30 minutes down the coast to the legendary city of Pompeii. Arriving in the late morning, you'll have time for lunch if you wish (own expense) before taking a guided walk around Pompeii's haunting ruins.
Hear how this ancient city was destroyed by the infamous Mt Vesuvius eruption in 79 AD as you visit the Forum, the Thermal Baths, Vetti's House and the Lupanare brothel, which were all buried by volcanic ash after the sudden and devastating eruption.
You’ll spend two hours exploring this fascinating archaeological site with your guide. Then hop in the coach for the drive back to Naples.
Guide was fine, but maybe not the most professional-looking. Got to see a bit of Naples, including a vista over the whole city, a plaza and coffee shop, and an important church. Group kept getting bigger as we went, and by the time we picked everyone up for Pompeii, the size was almost unmanageable 32 people I think?. We did have headsets to hear the guide, but the side of the group was a little disappointing. Pompeii itself is very much worth seeing and our guide did a great job of explaining everything. There was an uncomfortable point when she was yelling at other independent tourists for cutting ahead of us in line. To be fair to the others, it was not clearly a line... But the tour guide seemed to be prejudiced against foreigners she made a point of how rude these Argentinians were, as some Italians skipped ahead of us as well as I said, it wasn't clearly a line of people waiting and she was considerably nicer to them. Very awkward and unpleasant. Unprofessional to do in front of your tour group when you're on mic. Apart from that moment, though, the tour was good and I would recommend it. Transport was fine. Asked to get dropped off at the Archeological Museum on the way back and enjoyed that as well.

For us this Pompeii tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy, and we highly recommend it. It was fascinating to glimpse the life of this once-thriving city now in ruins with views of Mt. Vesuvius in the background, and our tour guide was excellent.

I learned a lot of things on this tour, and they were all really interesting, but the format of the tour nearly ruined the experience. The Naples half of the tour was fine, but the Pompeii half felt haphazard and disorganized. My tour guide was speaking on the phone on our ride to Pompeii, sounding like there were people missing from our tour. She became very agitated and started shouting, which I found unprofessional. The group was large, around 40 people, and we used radio headsets, which I was not expecting. At the end, the group was split into 3 according to next destinations. This took them nearly half an hour to sort out.

The Pompeii tour was very informative. The Naples portion was very short and could have been done better. The tour guide did not tell us about certain streets we should visit, about local Naples food such as the Baba, and other Naples-centric things that I don't know about. We saw a select few sites, but even though there wasn't time, we could have been told about Napoleaton things during the drive to Pompeii. Also, if I would have known that the tour guide was going to speak three different languages to the different sets of people on the tour, I would have selected a different tour. I think this ate up the time that she could have been talking about more things in English.

First half was a bit messy - didn't see much of city and were told we only had time for 10 mins in Cathedral due to late pick ups but then had coffee which could have been left out. Pompeii was brilliant though .

This tour was very good. The tour guide was excellent. She was extremely knowledgeable about Pompeii. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was I thought we'd get a bit more of a bus tour of Naples. We did visit a cathedral and got more information on the way to Pompeii. Everything went very smoothly and was most enjoyable.

We loved our tour guide, I think her name was Leeza or Eliza sorry that I forgot. She was fabulous and spoke at least 5 languages on our tour. We had a small tour of just 8 people. We toured Naples first and since she was a local, she was so knowledgeable. Then we went to Pompeii. I was glad we did not go in the hot summer busy season. She looked after us so well we loved it.

Quick overview of Naples and guided trip to Pompei. It took half day, there was also an option to see Vesuvio but we were short on time. Scope of trip as described and exactly what we needed. Tour provider has a lot of tourists to take care, so logistics are a bit hectic. If you loose the group, they might not wait for you until final counting people in return bus.

But except for one church, we didn't really see any of Naples City, it was really more of a being picked up at Naples and a Pompeii tour, so I think the title of this tour is a little misleading. The Pompeii tour was great though, our tour guide was very well informed.

Sylvia was our own personal guide for the city tour. She was great and informative. With that said, I thought we were going to visit a lot of the older buildings in old Naples but we did not. She did take us to a view spot for pictures in the newer part of Naples which was nice to see. Pompeii was good too.

We had a great tour and our tour guide Elena was the best! Despite the rain we had an enjoyable tour of Naples and felt a new appreciation for a city that gets a bad rap! We even returned at the end of our stay to visit the archeological museum at her suggestion! The city tour was woefully lacking. Only one church was visited, an overlook town plaza and a bldg shopping center that was once a general meeting place. Was NOT worth the time unless more historical places are added. Guide okay but limited.

Promptly picked up at our hotel in a clean, air conditioned bus and met by Andre, our guide for complete tour. Andre is fluent in many languages, but English was our language and we were very pleased. His passion is history, therefore, we had an informative tour with a tremendous amount of humor thrown in. The city tour was quick but saw much more than if we were on our own. About 40 minute ride to Pompeii. The site was so interestingly presented by Andre. While there were headsets for the Pompeii portion of the trip - it was always easy to hear and understand what Andre was saying. Back at the entrance, a gift of Lemoncello was a welcome treat. At this time, we opted to go on to the afternoon Mt. Vesuvius tour which included lunch. Lunch was a typical Italian lunch. Another short ride and we were at the base of Mt Vesuvius. We were given time to climb and return Its a hike, but well worth it. Again spectacular sites from the view at the top you will think was worth the hike. This was the last of the 5 tours we took with Viator in Italy. All upcoming tour needs, I will definitely choose Viator as a booking site as promised, prompt and professional. P.S. If you can get Andre for your guide you are in for a treat!

The tour guide was great. He was very enthusiastic and funny. Pompeii is a 'must'! I got picked up from near my hotel. However, when I was dropped off, it was about 3 streets away from my hotel and I had to ask people how to get back to my hotel as I got a bit lost. I paid extra to be dropped off as close to hotel as possible.

My husband and I were really happy that we booked this tour of Naples and Pompeii. I don't think that we would have been able to make our way around Naples by ourselves like we did in Rome. You definitely want someone to guide you around this city. Our favorite part of the tour was, of course, Pompeii. Our tour guide really knew her way around these ruins, and she was well-versed on the history of the city. I definitely recommend this tour!

Both sections of the tour were interesting but especially Pompeii. The only problem was the bias of the tour guide.When inside the church he belittled Christians without even knowing our beliefs.When at Pompeii he belittled the large groups of Japanese tourists. He made these sorts of comments throughout the tour. With a different tour guide the tour would have been better

Our guide, Andrea was very friendly, funny and not shy to share his view on almost everything. Visited sites in Naples city that we would have otherwise missed. First half (Naples city tour) was combined with someone who opted for city tour only. Second half (Pompeii) was combined with couple who opted for pompeii tour only. Still it's a small group tour (less than 4 person). It's informative and enjoyable._br/_

We were collected at our accommodation by our guide and after the tour we were dropped back at our accommodation. The tour of Naples was good and gave us a good overview of the city. The tour of Pompeii was a little disorganised with a change of tour guide and headsets that were poor. They need to update the headsets to one of a higher quality.
