Not just a boat, the Steamboat Natchez is a time machine that fills its passengers with the romance and marvel of yesteryear! Cruise along the Mississippi River and let the Steamboat Natchez whisk you away with its atmosphere and ambiance, with everything from a museum- quality Engine Room to the ship's orders being called over an old-time megaphone. As you steam ahead, soak in breathtaking views of the city skyline while enjoying a New Orleans cultural experience – a live jazz performance performed by the New Orleans band Dukes of Dixieland, a Grammy nominee.

A sample dinner menu can be found in the Itinerary section below.

This was a great tour, but definitely take this tour during the day as opposed to night. You cannot see much at night.

Loved the riverboat dinner cruise. We had a group of about 20, great way to celebrate a special occasion with delicious food, lively music and fantastic friends. The Big Easy, all lit up at night, was a beautiful sight from the river. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

A real must do in New Orleans. The music was great as was the buffet. Recommend selecting the earlier seating for dinner so you can enjoy the waterfront. would have liked to have somewhere to sit instead of standing in line for over 30 minutes while waiting to board I have a bad back.

The Jazz music was good. Unfortunately it was cold on the deck. The information, as we went down the river, was interesting.

We really enjoyed the cruise. The Dukes of Dixieland were fantastic entertainment. The meal was great. The cruising on the Mississippi was great and the captain's commentary of the history was enlightening. Do it all over again.

Good tour. Buffet was good but it was the usual thing. Music was entertaining and the cruise was lovely at night.

Really nice evening food was good but not great. Music and sunset were awesome. Toilets were in good condition but a long way to go to get to unless you were dining.

The crew was nice and organized. The ride was a great way to see New Orleans in the evening. There was good live music and lots of seating outside. A wonderful way to spend a casual evening in a busy city.

we had a great time

The night time cruise and dinner was fantastic! The jazz band that played was so good, I thought the singer sounded like we had Harry Connick, Jr. Singing for us! The meal was very good, although, I wish it had been more New Orleans fare, but it was still a good meal. There are so many places in New Orleans to find authentic food, it really wasnt a disappointment. We ate the later dinner time which was better to me, as we had time to wander the decks, and see the lights coming on in the city, as well as see the fog as it crept in once it was dark.

This was a fun couple of hours. We did not have the dinner part of the cruise, so I can not comment on that. The staff were all friendly. I would recommend this to those wanting a break from the average trip.

It was a cold night and as we came near to where we board the boat walking we heard what sounded like someone on the recorder over a loudspeaker playing some tunes - slightly out of tune. As we got closer we realised that it was actually someone on a keyboard on top of the ship playing the steam whistles ... very well done - was not great musically but a good laugh for us and appreciated the way in which this was done - and all in good humour._br/_ So all rugged up it was a cold snap at around 8 degrees Celsius or 46 degrees Fahrenheit we started our trip as one of the first on the ship. Had a look around - got a few photos and then a drink ... their mixed drinks with rum were actually very nice - and not as strong as I was expecting ... but certainly warmed you up._br/_ We then went to the dining room for a 7:45pm sitting - food was quite nice although pretty simple. Jazz bank playing in the background was VERY good._br/_ All over - glad we did it - but can now tick it off the list.

We loved the ride on the Steamboat and my husband particularly loved the tour of the engine room and the antique engine. The buffet was delicious the the wait staff very efficient. We had a very pleasant conversation also with a nice couple in the bar area while we waited for our seating time.

This is an iconic trip on a historic boat on an important waterway. The boat is wonderful - apreciated the opportunity to visit the engine room. The meal could be improved.

Nice ride down the Mississippi and viewing the sites along the shore. We did not do dinner and I’m glad we didn’t because it looked very average and was expensive. You could do better at a restaurant in the city which is well known. The small Dixieland combo was entertaining

Even over 2 years later, we still talk about how much fun this tour was. The band was great, the food was pretty darn good and plentiful, and the river beautiful.
Review by: ELIZABETH R, October 2017
Enjoyed being on the cruise, too dark to see anything, food average, jazz band played one hour in beginning and maybe 20-30 min at end. They were good would have like to hear more. I would do in the day next time and eat at a restaurant.

We had a wonderful meal, a beautiful scenic ride, and sat at a front table to hear Dukes of Dixieland!! My only complaint was that my eyes were closed in the professional picture taken of us. Perhaps take 2 pictures and print the best one.

I love giving 5 stars. The music was excellent. The night was good, and I must say for a smorgasburg style meal it was excellent. I recommend it as a night out in New Orleans.

This tour was very good the entertainment was exceptional the food was good but unfortunately our waiter was rude and very slow in returning with our change from 50 for 24 of drinks he very grudgingly returned with the change. We did tip him as is customary but not for the service.
Review by: Larry H, October 2017
We really enjoyed the cruise. The staff was friendly, the music was great and the meal was enjoyable. We would recommend increasing the length of the cruise to give the passengers more time to enjoy the music outside before having dinner. Worth the and time.
Review by: John T, October 2017
Very nice cruise, great jazz band, buffet dinner was good but a bit rushed to make way for the next sitting. It was a cold and windy night on the open top deck but plenty sheltered seating positions were provided. We would happily recommend the Natchez cruise to others. It was one of the highlights of our five day visit to New Orleans.
