The convenience of being able to hop on and hop off the bus was a great benefit.We saw a lot more of New York than expected and the onboard commentary was a great help

Very enjoyable tours around the whole of Manhattan. In hindsight, if you plan well you really get good use out of the hop on hop off aspect, great for going where you want to go and also just to sit and enjoy the sights and take lots of photos. My only niggle was finding the bust stops, its a little hard with all the signage everywhere in NY, they can be missed.

The quality of the experience is totally dependent on the person doing the narration. The first bus we boarded, I found it impossible to understand what the guide was saying, so needless to say, I was not impressed with that leg of my trip. The next two buses had excellent narrators who were easily understood, so that part of the tour was quite enjoyable. The ferry ride was good, but the night tour was really disappointing! Since we were in the Christmas season, we thought that we would see some holiday lights and decorations. That was not the case. When we asked about that, the guide told us that we would have been better served to stay downtown and walk around on our own. Some good points, some not so good.

We paid for 48 hr pass rode the hop on hop off 3 times had to walk 1 mile or more to find the bus _br/_ No signs on the street to identify location for pick and drop off once on yes the best way to see the city just a nightmare to get on and off drivers where awesome I really think taxi would have been best for us anyhow that's what we ended up us

Lied to by Viator, paid for online hop on hop off New York. Then found out we had to line up for tickets at Gray Line 45 minutes then another 50 minute wait for Bus 3 passed by full. Return even worse an hour and 10 minutes wait in line for bus that took us directly back to turnaround point as the 6pm cut off passed. Then the driver who could not speak English wanted a gratuity, she must have been joking._br/_ Will never book on line again, and this is a Trip Advisor Company. Do not use them for anything they are bogus.

The bus is the perfect way to see the things on your list. HOWEVER, our purchase said that we could use the e receipt to begin at any bus stop. None of the Gray Line representatives recognized my e receipt. I spent a huge amount of time walking to places they said would give me the tickets I needed while being chastised by Gray Line reps for buying passes online and not from them on the street. Ultimately I had to go to the central office to get printed passes. Seems like an old fashioned, paper-wasting system. I spent a half day trying to get what I needed to use the bus and boat. I won't purchase online if I do the bus again.

The driver did not take the route posted and when it started pouring rain, the tour guide tried to encourage us to get off the bus rather than phone/coordinate another bus to move us onto.

Really disappointed with the tour. Our first day we had a lovely guide who helped us and explained a lot. The second day we had a nasty woman who was really unpleasant to listen too. Alongside that we never got to do the ferry as we arrived at 3.30 and no one had mentioned the last trip was at 3?? What a waste of money.

The tour was pretty good overall. Our first couple guides were on their game with historical information, etc. One guy seemed a bit lazy about it. I've done these hop-on hop-off tours in MANY cities and I really enjoy them for my first day somewhere to get familar with the city, see the things quickly that I kinda want to see and figure out the ones that I want to spend more time at. That was awesome when I was traveling alone or with another adult._br/_ This time I had my kids - 18,9 and 6 months, in NYC, in August. That was a mistake. It was too hot on top for the baby and the sun put my 9 yr old into a nap up there. The downstairs part is not air-conditioned, so it was hardly tolerable for the baby. The 18 year old enjoyed it, but the others were not a good idea. We totally didn't take advantage of all of the benefits that I normally would have. _br/_ So- notes: Not a great idea with children or babies and beware of the heat/sun. It can get miserable._br/_ When I'm back to traveling as an adult, I'll be doing these again.
