I missed my connecting flight to Nice due to a very late inbound flight to London. After waiting in long lines for over 2 hours at British Airways I was rebooked on the Nice flight the next morning. I then called to inform the car service I would not be coming in due to the missed flight. I was called the next morning and told I would be charged regardless of the fact that this was completely beyond my control. Will never use Viator again.

While I always arrange for international travel pickup from airport to hotel through Viator, I didn't expect to pay over DOUBLE the cost of the private transportation from the Nice Airport to Cannes. I don't mind paying a extra for the convenience of having a driver with a larger car waiting for 4 adults, but I was shocked when we booked the return from the hotel to the airport and paid less than double what we paid for the original transport. For this very reason I have to give this transport only a 2 star rating. BTW I emailed VIATOR and asked about this last week and still haven't received an answer which is disappointing. What I have now learned is in most cases, booking the transport from the airport to a hotel internationally is USUALLY worth the little extra expense..but NEVER book the return to the airport. Your hotel can call the cab you need for much less than what you paid originally.

A friend of mine mentioned this service shortly before our trip, and I was thrilled to be able to set this up without any complications. We were traveling through multiple cities, so I wanted to minimize the chances of stress when we arrived and departed from Nice. It was nice to have someone waiting for us both ways. Our arrival driver was very informative and gave us a lot of tips about the area. The van was clean and on time. I think the only downside is the price which I thought was a little too high.

Driver picked us up no problem, and was really nice to tell us about 2 different routes to get to Monte Carlo, one being the scenic route and the other a short cut on highway. We took the short cut and was in MC in less than half an hour. The car used was a VW station wagon and were great as we were traveling with lots of luggage.

The driver Andreas met us on time and helpeded us with our luggage. The car was beautiful and very clean. He gave us a running commentary of what we were seeing while traveling to the hotel. Highly recommend this service. After a 9.5 hour flight to CDG + 3 hour layover + 1.5 hour flight to Nice, there was no way I was going to figure out the train, shuttle or taxi to Cannes. Our private driver was waiting for us upon arrival with our name on a sign. Walked across the street to the car, packed our luggage for us and got us to our Cannes apartment on la croisette. Very nice vehicle! Our driver did not speak very much English so no conversation but it was a pleasant ride.

Easy, efficient and worth the money after the flight. Our driver was Rene who spoke good english and gave us some pointers as to things we might do during our stay. It is possible to get to Cannes via buses and trains for a lot less cost, but its fiddly and not something I would advise for arrival (although we did do that on the way back). I am however told that some parts of Nice are not too secure so you would be well advised to use this service if you are departing or arriving at night.
