Ocho Rios Highlights Tour

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Shop 'til you drop! Take an extensive tour through the bustling streets of Ocho Rios and spend an afternoon exploring the town's many shopping arcades and craft markets. There's no better way to finish your day than by taking a refreshing climb up magnificent Dunns River Falls.

After browsing through the many craft markets and duty free shops in Ocho Rios, you’ll take a tour of the Wassi art factory, where local artisans create unique and distinctive pottery. The tour then takes you on a drive through the amazing Fern Gully, a forest of trees and ferns clinging to the steep hillsides.

You’ll also spend time amid the floral beauty of the Coyaba Botanical Gardens and complete your tour with a visit to the legendary Dunns River Falls. This sparkling waterfall cascades 600 feet (180 meters) down tiers of smooth rock.

You’ll have the opportunity to climb the thundering falls with the aid of a local guide. The photos you’ll take against this majestic backdrop will be amazing!

I got way more than I anticipated. We took an awesome tour of the city and finished by climbing all the way to the top of Dunn Rivers Falls. I just thought we were going to go to the fall and take pictures and splash around in the water. My scary self would have never climbed the river had I known what it was all going to intel. I'm glad I didnt know because I had the best time climbing the falls. OOOH and the water is COOOOOOOLD!!!!!! lol

Was an okay tour. Seemed rushed do to the timing constraints. Would have been nice to have more time to shop and get lunch. People were given an hour to climb the falls. Guide was professional, but distant sat down or waited in bus minimal interaction, neither volunteered to take pictures of guests during activites like on other tours. Botanical gardens tour was the best part of the trip.

the falls and gardens were great, but you felt a little rushed for time._br/_ the shopping experience was something else though, the natives are very pushy and walking away is the only way you get a bargain.

If I had to do over again I would skip the shopping in Ocho Rios. Next time I would only do the Dunns River Falls - that was fantastic! If review was for Dunns River I would have given 5 stars - but shopping was same junk you can buy anywhere - the sellers say anything to buy their wares. Seller proclaimed "it took her 3 days to make cap" later I found white tag "Made in Guatemala" Oh well they needed the money.

We enjoyed this tour! The Gardens and Dunns Falls were great and must do's. The morning shopping is cash only, so be prepared! Tour guides, knowledgeable and friendly as is everyone, in Jamaica.

The flea market was a little crazy. Sellers were extremely aggressive there. They take American dollars there but be careful with your money. Many of the sellers did not want to give change. The Dunn's River Falls is a definite must! Had a blast there.

Dunns River Falls was the highlight of the tour. Nice coach, the driver and tour guide were excellent.

We had a friendly guide, "Fluffy" on the bus. The pottery tour was okay, the guide at the park was not very good or friendly. I would have liked a little more time shopping in Ocho Rios, I felt pressured since we decided this would be our shopping day. We enjoyed Dunn's falls, a must see, even if you do not walk the falls, there are steps and over look platforms along the way to the beach. My husband has a severe back problem and we opted not to walk the falls, but used the steps and we still enjoyed it. I would recommend it.

The tour was a great way to get in a little shopping in Ocho Rios and then a visit to Dunns River Falls. The falls are great and the hike up the falls was a lot of fun. It was nice to have the guides as they were fun and helpful.

Was fun! Loved Dunns River falls! The rocks are really slippery so make sure you wear water shoes. Shopping is really just souvenirs. The prices are much higher than if you were to get some of the same things at the airport. Especially the liquor. Rum Cream here was 22.00. It's 10.00 at MBJ. First stop at the Ceramic/Pottery shop could have been skipped. The tour guide was excellent. The Botanical Gardens was nice. On the way back down the mountain there's this kid that does Back handsprings in the middle of the road downhill in front of the bus for tips. He was AMAZING!!!

I enjoyed this trip very much. The price is excellent and the guide (D'Andrea) was too. However, I was disappointed to learn that the pottery factory is now closed (4 months prior to my tour per the guide), though you buy it as part of the package. So beware b/c the description has not yet been edited. As a side note: I climbed Dunn's River Falls while 3.5 months pregnant! I had many naysayers, along w/ some supporters, but I'm SO happy I did it! It liberating and I felt very safe. I think if you are questioning it, at least give it a try. You can take leave if necessary before climbing and the water is SO refreshing!

The tour was awsome. The only down fall is that every tour guide expected a tip, and the vendors expected us to buy something. I think the workers are getting paid to do what they do, because we paid for the tour. Famous last words, "did I do a good job? Then don't forget to leave me a little thing".

Review by:   Roberta S,   United States of America, November 2008 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
When we arrived, the group was nowhere to be found. I had someone call and I also talked with the company, and the staff could not find my reservation. The company should have been there ready to pick us up and get us underway. We waited at least 45 minutes while the employee tried to track someone down. Fern Gully was disappointing due to not stopping anywhere. The driver was not going to take us to the botanical garden when it was on the list of things to see. He had to make several calls to get approval to do so. He did take us, but there should have been no question and he should have taken us there without us requesting it several times. We were done in about 3 hours vs the 5.5 that we paid for. So I was disappointed in Viator.

It was a wonderful way to see several different aspects of Ocho Rios in one outing. The climb up Dunne River Falls was AWESOME!! Buy the video of your climb, it's worth it!

The visit to the gardens and Dunn River Falls was beautiful and interesting. It was difficult with everyone expecting a tip and pressuring you to do so.

This is the perfect excursion. You get to shop, climb Dunns River and go to the botanical gardens. To do all this separately it would of cost 3 times as much!! So glad I found this website!

Great time! I loved being able to shop at the local craft market. The tour guide was great. I would have liked the waterfall climb to have been a little more intimate, but there were a lot of people climbing the falls at the same time. Other than that, this was a great experience!

A must-do when visiting Ocho Rios. It's a great experience and there are several places to bail-out along the way if you're not up to the entire challenge. The tour includes some local flea market shopping and a tour of the rain forest. Met some great people from our resort during the climb and hung out with them the rest of the week. You can rent water shoes there, but a better way is to bring an old pair of sneakers and donate them after the climb to be given to grateful locals in need of footwear.

It was a great trip. Our tour guide was very informative and entertaining. Dunn River Falls was great and Coyaba Gardens are a must-see. We enjoyed shopping at the craft mart. I printed my vouchers online without any problems.
