Review by:   Megan S,    July 2018 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
I am a solo female traveler in my late 20’s and this island is designed around family fun. Water parks, open bar and grill, banana boat rides, and zip lining. All sound fun, but for a solo traveler surrounded by children? I found myself already having paid for the full day and I left on the first ferry off the island. I should probably also include that I live a couple hours drive from the Wisconsin Dells (“Waterpark Capital if the World”) so my standards for a place like that are quite high. I don’t doubt this is great for families with small children, but it definitely wasn’t for me. It got 2 stars because I absolutely loved the SNUBA experience. Great snorkeling, but worth the price to be transported out there? Absolutely not.

Lovely place and the food is plentiful and great. Wish I could have done Snuba but I have asthma and they won't allow it because compressed air is no good for you. The island is perfect for young kids and people who want to relax. The snorkeling is beautiful and the beach is calm. wear beach shoes because it is rocky in several places. I can't wait to go back. It is well worth the price.

Had a great day. Loads of food, plenty to drink, great snorkeling and easy to find a beach chair. Remember to bring a towel. Would recommend.

We just spent a day at De palm Island. It was wonderful. Both the breakfast and lunch buffets were very good. I especially loved eating breakfast overlooking the water. It was extremely clean and the staff were very quick to remove our dirty dishes. There was planty of loung chairs for sun bathers and for people who want shade. There was an open bar all day and hot dogs, hambergers chicken fingers, and fries all day. The snockeling was very good equipment included. We were there a few years ago and they had one of there staff conducted a snorkeling tour but they did not do that this time. They also have a small water park. Even though it is small it was a lot of fun. They have a banana boat ride but the line was always long. We were there from open 9:00 to close 5:00. It went fast. Great day.

this place was fantastic. all the activities were great. the banana boat would have been more fun at a faster speed and if the obnoxious other passengers had been spoken to about their behavior. one of them almost knocked a little girl over even before we were actually moving because he kept swaying back and forth

My friend and I were excited for the ziplining. We also saw food and drinks were included so it was a nice deal. The trip was a mess though. The ziplining was so small and not worth it. The food and drinks were mediocre. We ended up leaving early even though we paid for a full day. Don't waste a day

BEST TOUR EVER!!! This tour was great! Free food and drinks all day! Water park was fun and im 34 years old! I went snorkeling, and water treking! We ziplined (small) but super fun! We lounged! It was so nice and private! There were maybe 60 ppl on the island with us! So it wasn and #39;t super crowded and no lines.

A bus picks us up at the Resort and brought us back. Then you take a ferry to the Island to get transported and they explain where everything is. We went immediately to eat breakfast and it was a buffet with lots of fruit and vegetables and sweet rolls, and also bacon, sausage, scramble eggs and potatoes, really good quality. After that we signed up for the power snorkel tour, it was an extra 49 a person, and we had an excellent tour guide that took us to the end of the Island and showed us a great time, it was fun and safe, we recommend buying the pictures, 26 but make sure to check they are in the USB, we found the hard way when we checked in the computer that the pictures weren't there. We contacted the Island and Philomena the operator took it upon herself to make sure we got the pictures that day. She took our e-mail address and sent it to us that afternoon. The drinks are all included and the lunch was very good as well. The activities like the Zippline, the Banana Boat ride, and the Snorkeling is also included and it is a beautiful beach to just spend the day relaxing. It is a wonderful thing to do in Aruba, best value, super fun for children.

Let me start off by saying: if you have your own vehicle, you can drive and park there yourself so that you may leave when you wish. There is very little to do at the park once you make a lap around the deceptively small island. Trying all the activities took about 3 hours although we signed up for the 8 hour trip. Luckily we rented a car and left after we were done. There is an open bar and cafeteria available, which was nice.

Had a wonderful day. The staff are all very attentive and professional. Food was good. Nice clean facility. My only complaint would be that after paying over 500.00 for my family to go I don't believe, we should have been subjected to having to listen to other guests EXTREMELY loud music. The only music played should be that of the facilities. I would have given 5 stars, but can't because of the music.

Family of 8 ... had a truly enjoyable and fun-filled day at De Palm Island. We didn't do the Snuba or the SeaTrek, and it was still a great day. Pretty decent food at the buffets especially the lunch, and a free-flowing bar. We spent a lot of time snorkeling really good snorkeling, and enjoying the beach, banana boat, zip line and sun. All of the workers and employees on the island were extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely do again.

Really good - food was decent. Alcohol was a bit watered down. If it wasn't for the over watered down drinks I would give it a five star.

If it and #39;s a sunny day and your kids haven and #39;t been to a water park...worth doing. Banana boat ride was fun. It down poured (rained) and there and #39;s nothing to do beside eat or shop. Have to pay for temporary tattoo or get your hair braided. No refunds or rainchecks if it rains constantly.

The bananna boat ride never happened for us. There is only one and there were tons of people and they only fit like 10 at a time. WAY TOOOOO long of a wait. That was a real bummer. SAme with regard to the zip line. Huge wait being that it is only two lines and again TOOOO many people. In my opinion, they should not allow too many people at one time on this island. The bouncing thing can't remember what its called was run by a guy who was so disinterested and the whole thing screamed unsafe. The snorkle area is very rough. the beach areas were rocky and you needed water shoes which we did not have if you planned on going in the water. The whole park was in disrepair and kind of shanty. The one positive thing was that the food was exceptionally good! I unfortunatley would not recommend this place to anyone and feel like it was a complete rip off at 300 for four of us considering what we were thinking we would be getting and didn't at all.

After reading the reviews of this place I thought It would be a lot of fun for my kids 18-15 boy was I wrong... they advertise a water park it's actually for little kids maybe 8 and younger , the basketball court is in major need a repair the hoop it crooked . The zip line was decent it's short and over before you blink. The snorkeling area was small , on the day we went it was very windy and all the add ons Snuba and treck walking had to be cancelled even the banana boat ride in the morning was closed. This is an expensive day for a family of 4 ..there are many other things to do in Aruba I would highly steer away from here with teenagers.

This trip was a little disappointing, the food was awful and the drinks weren and #39;t very good either. Only one beer to chose from. However the snorkeling was amazing. I think this would be a good choice for families rather than couples.

De Palm Island seemed like it was a lot of waiting. We booked the package including the snuba diving. It was fun and our diver guide was great. The water park was packed with kids so didn't bother with that and didn't want to wait in line for the banana boat ride. Booked the whole day tour and left early.

Im giving this one star because the ziplining took over an hour and it was only a line full of 7 people. I had to get off. The food wasn't great. Cold and not well made as well as the included drinks were extremely watered down. I would give 5 stars to the sea trek alone as it was an amazing excursion and the guides were patient and excellent. However de palm island itself is way overpriced and I will not go again especially since ive already experienced the sea trek.

This excursion was fantastic. Lovely little island. Staff was great. Had a full breakfast and lunch buffet, terrific. And can't beat open bar. Plus the kids got to snorkel, ride the banana boat, zipline, and air jump as many times as their was an opening. Loved it!

It was ok. We thought the "nice" lunch closed a little early, as we had to scurry to get our sea trek in AND catch a guided snorkel tour. By the time we finished both, the lunch buffet had closed, and we were left with only the snack shack fried foods to eat. The staff are all very nice, and don't forget to take your camera over to the banana boat with you, the staff on the boat will take pics for you!

My boyfriend and I stayed in Aruba for a week. It's definitely worth heading to De Palm Island for a day. Private island to do any watersport you choose or just relax on the beach. We had signed up for sea trek, which is underwater helmet diving. It was a great experience for those who are non-swimmers! The crew were extremely friendly which made the experience even better.
