Osaka Full-Day Walking Tour with Osaka River Cruise

Go for a stroll through Osaka and see its highlights on this guided walking tour, including a 1-hour river cruise on the Aqua Liner. You'll enjoy lunch and visit Osaka's famous attractions with a knowledgeable guide, such as Osaka Castle and the Floating Garden Observatory. From the river, view the Twin Towers and City Hall on Nakanoshima lsle, and enjoy sweeping views all the way to Awaji Island from the Umeda Sky Building.
Start your 6.5-hour walking tour from Hotel Granvia Osaka, where you’ll meet your friendly guide. Make your way to the Floating Garden Observatory, an open-air sky bridge connecting the two towers of the Umeda Sky Building. You'll spend approximately 1 hour enjoying panoramic views overlooking the city, Awaji Island and Mt Ikoma. After a delicious Japanese lunch, head to Higashi-Umeda Station for a subway ride to Temmabashi Station (non-reserved seating) with your guide. Disembark for Osaka Castle, noted for its magnificence and the immense stones used in its construction. The renovated castle rises above the city on a stone rampart, and was built in 1583 as the intended capital of Japan. Many relics of old Osaka and the Toyotomi who built the castle are exhibited inside. From here it's a short walk to the riverboat dock to board the Aqua Liner for a 1-hour cruise around Nakanoshima. Enjoy breathtaking seasonal landscapes with passing views that include Osaka Castle, the Twin Towers and City Hall on Nakanoshima lsle. At the end of your tour, proceed with your guide to Osakajo-Koen Station for the return ride on the JR local line to Osaka Station. Then continue exploring the city on your own or find your way back to your hotel.
our tours excellent, it was fun and very interesting tour. We missed the Cherry Blossom which bloom 2 week earlier this year in Osaka. However, our tour guide was able to find out about a new location in the city that Cherry Blossom is at the peak

This tour was not worth the money spent on it. We saw very little, spent a lot of our time waiting around for the rest of the large group and the tour guide less a tour guide and more a courier had no handle on the group and the lunch was in a hotel, western style and the vegetarian option was tasteless and uninspiring. You are better off seeing these sights yourself, none of the sights cost that much and you will be able to find a much nicer lunch yourself. The highlight of the tour was the boat trip but not worth the price or hassle or the tour itself.

Lovely day and a wonderful walking tour. We were tired and it was a hot day but that was only because we had over exerted ourselves walking around Kyoto the day before. Mikako was our guide and she was very informative and accommodating. She was very engaging and helped accommodate the dietary restrictions in our group during lunch and towards the end of the day while we were waiting for the river cruise she helped us with some recommendations for some unique Osaka eats, especially where to find their signature kushikatsu before we headed back to Kyoto for the evening. We were short on time so only had time for 1 day in Osaka but the city definitely deserves a second or third look for future trips and for those who have more time.

Enjoyable tour of central Osaka with friendly, knowledgeable guide who spoke perfect English. Umeda Sky Tower is quite impressive lunch at fine restaurant was tasty subway to Osaka Castle was fun experience castle and grounds well worth a visit...can go into Castle to see exhibits, etc extra crowded since it was a Sunday and Japanese holiday week, but still enjoyable boat ride on river was relaxing and pleasant way to see city.

i would highly recommend this tour during the Sakura season we enjoyed walking around the city and taking photos of Osaka from the Floating Garden Observatory at the Umeda Sky Building. Learnt alot about Shogun history from Osaka Castle's exhibits which is again an amazing building with excellent views. the Aqua Liner riverboat cruise around Nakanoshima was lovely too

This was certainly the best day of a two week trip to Japan. Our guide, June, was really good with great English, very friendly and helpful. Wonderful lunch at the Granvia. Osaka is a lovely place - in the morning we walked around Osaka seeing many of the 'exotic' buildings - especially amazing the Umeda building. After lunch went to the Castle learning the history related to Shoguns etc. The cruise made a wonderful end to a busy day.

Tour group was too large of a size to be manageable. Started with about 30 people then by end of tour only about 8 people finished. Heat was a factor. Tour should add disclaimer this is a lot of fast paced walking and not conducive for children in strollers or guests with walking cane.

The tour guide should have a microphone. Many of us couldn't hear what she was saying. Also, we had so little time at the Osaka castle because there were so many people there, that we didn't even have time to see each floor - we were able to just walk to the top, once around and took a few photos, and then back down. In fact, half of the tour was lost because we basically had to run to the boat dock and then we missed the 3pm boat ride anyway. It was nice having to rest for an hour and take the later tour, though. Think it would be better to schedule the 4pm boat tour instead of the 3pm in the future. Liked what we saw and the guide was nice.

All in all, my family enjoyed the tour. However, it was all walking apart from the river cruise. The tour indicated that there is a train ride to Osaka Castle. My mother is almost 70 years old and we had a few senior citizens in our group. They really felt very tired trying to keep pace with the rest of the group.

Gave me a glimpse of what there is in Osaka, historically culturally and geographically. I would highly recommend this tour to Osaka visitors. Although not suitable for people with weak hearts and legs during summertime when the heat is terrible.

Nice walk from Osaka station to the Umeda Sky Tower, great views. Guid spoke english well and was very informative throughout the tour. Short train ride to the Castle which was impressive and then on to the river boat cruise. I would highly recommend this tour.

The walking tour was interesting but I am not sure that it is good value for money. You only visit 3 attractions Umeda Sky Building, Osaka Castle and a river cruise and the river cruise is pretty boring. The other two locations are quite interesting though. The lunch was great too. Our guide was good, explaining everything and answering all questions. It's also worthwhile taking a tour rather than seeing the locations yourself because the guide provides some interesting stories and knowledge, from an Osaka point of view about the history of Osaka and the shoguns who ruled it quite a different perspective from what we learnt on our Kyoto tour.

Tour locations were good. However, the guide was very disorganised, resulting in the tour group having to rush between sites. Also, Osaka is not a good place for a walking tour during peak-season. Couldn't hear guide over the noise of the city, and managed to lose him in the crowd on one occasion. The lunch provided was also a little small, although the restaurant was a very nice location.

We were met promptly by our guide and immediately took off to a fascinating walking tour along with a subway ride. The highlight, a visit to a high-rise building with a observation deck permitted an expansive view of the entire city. By the time we had lunch I felt that the overview of the city was achieved. Lunch was in a 'french' restaurant in the Osaka Train Station and a pleasant break in our walking allowing the rest of weary feet. After lunch more walking, really that is the only way to see local color that was the objective of the tour.

I expected a walking tour to most of Osaka's attractions but we walked mostly going to the subway and out,, the stations being located quite a distance from the attraction itself and we started late. Anyway, from our meeting place in Granvia Hotel Osaka, we walked to the nearby Umeda Sky building after which we went back to Granvia Hotel for lunch. After lunch, we took the subway to Temmabashi Station where we walked towards_br/_
the main tower of the Osaka Castle. We went up to the 5th floor(the elevator is only for going up) and you have to go down on foot as you browse through the museum but since we were given only a few min, there wasn't enough time to see everything. From there, we walked towards the pier located a good distance at the back of the castle for the river cruise. It was the nicest part of the tour which lasted almost an hour. Then we went back to our respective hotels by subway again.

This tour was our introduction to Japan. We got to overlook the city from 173 m sky tower - spectacular views! Our guide was very helpful and informative. Osaka Castle is well worth going to see.

Great tour guide, captured the highlights, in retrospect should have spent the afternoon on something other than the river cruise, enjoyed everything but the river cruise did not really provide much to the tour. It was a relaxing moment but not all that interesting compared to seeing other high lights in a limited timeline.
