Oslo City Tour Including the Fram Museum or Kon-Tiki Museum
Oslo, Norway
Discover three of Oslo’s highlights — Vigeland Park, Holmenkollen Ski Jump, and the Fram Museum or Kon-Tiki Museum — on a city tour by coach! With a guide at your side, enjoy a walk around Gustav Vigeland’s sculptures, and then check out Norway’s world-famous ski jump (photo stop only). Continue on to visit either the Fram Museum or Kon-Tiki Museum (your choice) before returning to central Oslo by coach (during winter) or boat (during summer).
Meet your guide at Oslo City Hall, and then hop aboard your luxury coach for your city tour. Relax as you travel through the center of the Norwegian capital, and listen to your guide explaining Oslo’s culture and sights.
Stop at Vigeland Park to walk around the world-renowned collection of sculptures by the beloved Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland. Home to more than 200 bronze and granite sculptures, the park is one of Norway’s top attractions, drawing visitors from around the world. Look out for the 46-foot (14-meter) Monolith sculpture, as well as Sinataggen, a model of an angry London boy.
Continue to the famous Holmenkollen Ski Jump, used during the 1952 Winter Olympics, it has since been totally rebuilt and the new center opened in 2010. Enjoy roughly 20 minutes of free time to soak up the views over Oslo and take photos. Perched on top of a hill, the iconic ski jump is known for being one of the city’s finest vantage points. This is a photo stop only.
Next, you can choose to visit either the Fram Museum or Kon-Tiki Museum. At the Fram Museum (considered the best museum in Oslo) you can learn about brave Norwegian explorers and their famous polar expeditions and can also go on board the famous polar ship Fram. Alternatively, at the Kon-Tiki museum you can hear details of the Thor Heyerdahl’s incredible sea voyages and see the rafts he used for sailing on the oceans of the world.
From here you travel by coach back to the city center (January 1 through March 17 and October 17 through December 31) or by boat (March 18 through October 16).
The tour guide was great- she was very knowledgeable. I liked that the tour combined time on the bus and time to stand up and walk around. The best part of the tour was the time in Vigeland Park. I would not have gone to this Museum if it wasn't included in the tour and it was an interesting stop.

We had only one day in Oslo this time and we were lucky to choice this sightseeing tour._br/_ Everything was great, Holmenkollen, the Vigeland park, the Fram Museum and last, but not least, our guide._br/_ The only problem was that we had'nt enough time in the park, only ca. 30 or 40 min. I think 1 hour in additional time would have been good.

This is a great tour if you want to see Oslo in a Nutshell . Our guide, Helen, was very knowledgeable and passionate about her country. She had a great sense of humour, despite there being a big group on our tour. Would recommend highly.

Learned a lot about Oslo, and this was another day that was well worth it. The guide was very informative and we saw many interesting sights.

It is the best way to cover the most important sightseeing spot in the city in few hours. The tour was on time and organized. I love it.

I felt that I really got a true sense of the City, visiting tourist areas and locations off the beaten path. The Viking Ship Museum is very much worth a visit! Amazing to see the centuries-old ships that have been restored and displayed.

Excellent tour that includes somewhat remote areas we would have ignore otherwise.

It was a solid tour and we saw lots of interesting things. I was interested in the Viking Ship Museum and of course there wasn and #39;t enough time there so I returned the following day and spent the morning. Could have left out the stop at the ski jump. Overall I would recommend it.

Very good tour. Saw most of the major sites (ski jump, Frogner Park, and Viking Ship museum) in Oslo. I and #39;d highly recommend this tour to others. A short ferry taxi back near the city hall which was near our hotel. Major shopping and restarants.

Enjoyed the tour - would have liked more time at Vigeland Park.

A wonderful way to take in interesting sights in a short, yet organized itinerary. The sculpture gardens were the highlight for me. Also enjoyed going to the ski jump area. The Viking Ship Museum was so crowded as there seemed to be NO crowd control that it was difficult to enjoy this as much as the other tour stops. Highly recommend this....price well worth it !!!! Don't miss the sculpture gardens...you will be blown away.

We had a great time from day one!

On time and offered the best of Oslo in the short amount of time that we had. Tour guide was well versed in all three venues that we visited. Had ample time to really see and learn about them. Very reasonably priced._br/_
Would recommend for anyone with limited time in Oslo

An excellent introduction to a beautiful city. Our guide was very knowledgeable and the bus quite comfortable. The featured stops at Vigeland Park, the Viking Ship Museum, and the ski jump were well-organized and allowed enough time to see the sites without being rushed. The weather wasn't good, which made the stop at Bygdoy and ferry back less enjoyable than it would have been on a nice day.

Very good tour, fulfilled my expectations I would only suggest to spend more time at the museum it is wonderful but the time spent is too small.

Tour guide was first rate - lots of very interesting information and a very approachable manner._br/_
Good venues - not too many sites visited which meant you could really have a good look around.

Not enough time at Each stop. 20 minutes at Holmenkollen, 20 at Viking Ship Museum.

very good selection and definitely made the most out of it given my time constraint.

Our guide was excellent...only wished we could have had a little more time in Vigeland Sculpture Park! Viator's customer service was excellent as well.....our ship was held up in getting port clearance and we were close to missing the tour. I called the local number that Viator provided and the young lady communicated back and forth between us and the tour guide until we were able to finally make the tour.

The tour was a great way to see the highlights of Oslo in a few short hours. The guide's English was very easily understood and I believe she followed up each English highlight once again in German. I thought the time spent in the Viggeland Scuplture Park could have been a touch longer and the time spent in the Viking Museum a touch shorter.

Great tour, especially going to see e ski jump! Viking Museum was interesting and loved taking the ferry back!!
Review by: Julie W, July 2014
it was the best part of that tour, but the tour driver and guide were terrible and quite rude.
Review by: Meg L, June 2014
It was very unclear what bus to get on. Viator was not listed on the sign in the window of the bus so no clue. The bus driver was very rude when we asked him and the tour guide was just as rude. Not enough time was alotted for the 3 stops. The bright side is that Oslo is a beautiful city!!!

I had a few hours before flying out, so booked this tour, very worthwhile. The tour lasted 3.5 hours - bus up and ferry back (June is summer, hence ferry back). The tour was flexible - due to rain, we changed schedule and went to the Ski Jump before the sculpture park. We had about 30 mins at each site. Enough time at the Viking Ship Museum as most of the individual items were described in Norwegian language - so listening to the guide at the beginning is important. Time at Ski Jump was just enough to get to the bottom of the jump for the best shot, although the bus would stop there for half a minute to let you take photos onboard; you could choose to only walk to the middle layer to take photos upwards and downwards; I went to the bottom of the jump and just passed the chapel and took photos, no time to get in. Sculpture Park was good, you must follow the guide to understand the meaning of the main works. There was no time to do our own walk-around in the park - one could spend whole day there, it's a beautiful park.

Oslo is a fun place. it blends the old with an edgy modern feel. The highlights of the tour are the sculpture park which is amazing and the Viking Museum. Even though we went in the middle of winter and the weather was dreadful the tour still had plenty to offer. If you find yourself in Oslo then go on this tour.

The bus driver was so helpful working out our emailed confirmation ticket to join the tour as well as safe driving skills. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The city tour as well as the museums that we visited were very interesting and all for a very reasonable price.

The tour was fabulous! Agnes, our guide, was extremely knowledgable and organized. I was impressed that she spoke in three languages--Norwegian, German and English--all flawlessly. The sights were superb. I loved Oslo!

This was a great day out and is probably the best way to see Oslo if your time is limited. We covered most of the sights that were outside walking distance from the center of the city. I would definitely recommend this tour especially if your time is limited.

Tour was excellent--but directions were exceedingly poor. Tour didn't start where we were told and it was tough to make it from our ship to the alleged start point by the appointed time. Ship didn't have a printer that worked--companies need to get updated to the 21st century and accept mobile phone passes (We booked the tour onboard since the one we had booked through TRAVELOCITY cancelled due to too few patrons). When we got to the supposed place where the tour was supposed to start (and after waiting in a long line)--we were told we needed to go up behind the town hall--a couple of blocks away. We dashed up there, but no tour company had our name. VERY poorly organized! One company took us on with a VIATOR booking number--but not after admonishing us for not having a printed ticket. Not a great way to start a vacation!
