3-Day Horseback Riding Vacation in Ottawa Valley

Escape to nature with a 3 day, 2 night horseback riding adventure package with meals included. You will experience what it is like to pack up your horse, hit the trail for a couple of days and camp under the stars alongside the Ottawa River. This is a wonderful experience for couples, groups or families and can be combined with a rafting trip into a week vacation of Ottawa River outdoor adventures.
Stressed out? Need a break from the city? Enjoy a 3 day, 2 night horseback riding “City Slicker” vacation package at Horse Country Campground. These “City Slicker” adventures include daily guided horseback riding, accommodations and meals. Pack up your horse, leave it all behind and hit the trail to explore the beautiful Ottawa Valley. This package provides a total escape to nature and adventure with horses.
Day One: Arrive at high noon to check-in. Your first day's adventures includes a 2-hour lesson and guided ride, dinner at Rafters Restaurant, and campfire under the stars.
Day Two: After a big cowboy all-you-can-eat breakfast, your guide will help you pack up your horse as you hit the trail for a day of trail riding. Your day includes a scenic lunch stop along the Ottawa River. Arrive at our River Run camp, unpack your horse and get your cabin bunk set up before dinner and a relaxing evening. Optional swimming and canoeing after dinner.
Day Three: Enjoy a cowboy breakfast and coffee, and pack up your horse for the ride back to Horse Country. Wrap up with some photos, lunch and an afternoon pass for the resort to enjoy the hot tub and beach! 4pm late check out.
What you need to bring:
Sleeping bag, tent, and pillow
Extra clothing for all weather conditions
Closed heal and toe footwear (boots, cowboy boots, rubbers)
Alcoholic beverages (Bring your own alcoholic beverages. Restrictions apply - please contact your local tour operator for details)
Guitar and song book!
Please note: Helmets are mandatory for all riders and are provided at no
additional charge. Your safety and the safety of the horses is a
priority. All horses are assigned by the trail guide (you do not get to
pick your horse). Saddle options include English and Western. All riders
must provide their own proper riding attire
including footwear with a closed toe/heel, and full length jeans or
pants, t-shirt or western shirt. No flip flops, sandals or running shoes
are permitted. No shorts, bikini tops or swimming trunks are permitted.
Children must be 13 years and older and must be accompanied by a parent
or legal guardian.
