Experience the grandeur of Versailles Palace and Gardens on a small group tour from Paris. With a maximum of only eight per group, this small group trip to Versailles ensures a more intimate experience. Hotel pickup from centrally located Paris hotels is included, taking all the guess work out of your trip. You can choose from a half-day tour (independent tour), either in the morning or afternoon, or a full-day tour (guided tour). On both the half-day and full-day tours you'll also be able to wander around the garden's groves and pools. If you visit Versailles on a Saturday or Sunday during April to October, you can see the famous fountain show in the gardens. The display is accompanied by music composed at the time of Louis XIV's court.
Half-day: Choose from a morning or afternoon departure from Paris. Your hostess will provide advice to help you plan your time at Versailles. An audio guide is available in 8 languages. Your tour of the Palace of Versailles will be independent without a tour guide. It includes free time to explore Louis XIV's fabulous suite of rooms, the grand Hall of Mirrors and the apartments of the Dauphin and Dauphine. (Approximate time spent at Versailles is two hours).
Full-day: Your full day tour begins with a fully-guided tour of Versailles (1-hour) including the Royal Apartments, Hall of Mirrors, Queen's Bedroom and the Gallery of Battles. Enjoy lunch at La Petite Venise Restaurant. After lunch, it's time to explore the palace gardens and take a visit to the Queen's Hamlet, where Marie-Antoinette played at being a shepherdess in the 1780s. You'll then take a guided tour of the Grand Trianon (1 hour), a mini palace where Louis XV and Louis XVI liked to lead a quiet life outside the court of Versailles.
I opted for the half day tour without a guide. The driver was great and gave us some valuable information. If you only want an overview of the palace and gardens, this is fine. Several of the group felt as though they were rushed especially those who paid for a personal guide. It was quite crowded, but still amazing to see. As a member of the older generation, I cannot understand spending 99 your time taking pictures which will be mostly unidentifiable later when you could actually use your eyes to take in the opulence. Buy a book with better pictures and text to explain the location and history of each one!

This tour is amazing and our tour guide was fantastic. She picked us up at our hotel in a van, drove to Versailles, gave us time to walk around the gardens for about 45 minutes. Then we got our self-guiding headphones and experienced the beautiful of the Palace before she drove us back to our hotel. On the way to Versailles, she told us the applicable history that helped the visit to be much more meaningful. This is the best!!

Our family of 5 and just 2 others were on this trip. We enjoyed the day, but somethings were not as advertised... We were not able to contact anyone the day before our trip and it says that the trip might be canceled if they are not contacted. So, when our driver was over 15 minutes late, we were worried that we had been canceled! The driver had a very thick accent and the kids couldn't understand him. Then, we were supposed to be able to get a choice of a meal at lunch and we did not. The driver ordered our meal and drinks without any input from anyone. It was a beautiful day, but could have been better with a few changes.
Great tour ! Pedro was amazing with details and we could walk around after the tour itself.

An excellent tour guide !!!!!! I was lucky that on this small group tour, the 2 Canadians cancelled at last moment and I got the t/guide all to myself. Communications was excellent his english better than mine ?, knowledge and history/culture all top-marks. Notable extra exhibition on at Versailles and he recommended I do it too .......was time pushed but did it. Was most worthwhile.

The driver/ guide was woderful 5 stars, as was booking the pickup and drop off at our Paris Hotel. I've booked other Viator tours in England and Italy which were also great. The trip to Versailes was easy, Viator provided an audio guide that allowed us to walk in the gardens, and the meet at a designated time for our inside tour, ample time for both. We would book Viator again should our travel needs require tours.

My husband and I took this full day tour on the last Sunday in October, which I believe was the last day the fountains were working for the season. The tour guide picked us up at the hotel promptly at 8AM before picking up 3 more passengers that were staying in hotels in the same area as us. We quickly formed a friendship that made for a very pleasant day. The guide was informative and knowledgeable not only about the Palace of Versailles but also the town. And he told us details about Paris and the areas we drove through to get to Versailles. This was a long day but well worth it. The Palace of Versailles, the smaller palaces, the fountains, the gardens, the Grand Canal and Marie Antoinette's village are unbelievable. It is hard to imagine the life the king lived even after seeing all this. We had some free time to walk through the gardens and fountains. A tasty chicken dinner at a restaurant on the palace grounds was part of the tickety price.

This is a fantastic tour! We booked the full day trip and it was worth it! We arrived early enough to have a walk around the beautiful gardens before we started our tour, which consisted of my wife and I and two other couples. Our guide was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. His enthusiasm for history was evident in the way he spoke and additional contextual information he provided to help provide a better picture of what the world was like when Versailles was the seat of power.

Amazing place! We spent the morning at the palace and gardens, and to our surprise, the tour included a wonderful lunch with wine and dessert include. Afternoon was spent at 2 smaller yet still magnificent residences, and finished with a stroll through the English garden and the hamlet built for Marie Antoinette. Only 4 in our group and we learned a lot!!

On the whole, I enjoyed the tour. I think it was well worth the money. I think the audio guide was hard to follow and I wish before the tour of the Chateux we would have been told to budget time for the gardens. I feel that we were driven out there and dumped.

I hadn't been to Versailles in over 2 decades so this time, I decided to take more of a private tour. This meant that I was picked up at my hotel and there was only one other couple in the car. We were completely taken care of given a guide with a pen that activated information and ear plugs for the King's apartments. The driver spoke in both of our languages and made great time considering traffic in Paris. This company seemed professional and made sure that you were taken care of. We had 2.5 hours to tour the apartments.

outstanding value!! well worth the money, to save time, and physical wear and tear!! We went directly from our hotel to a group only entrance, no lines, minimal wait time. Vacationing can be physically demanding, by utilizing the pick up/drop off portion of this excursion, we saved considerable steps getting to/from. Be careful when booking with an Viator agent, I was told that I would be at the palace for 4 hours. Tour was 4 hours from hotel pick-up and back !!!

Horrible! Planning a tour from home is convenient but this computerized anoniminity also means there is no one to to clarify if the guide is going to pick you up and you have no contact point for issues other than the tour guide. This morning tour was MUCH shorter than advertised!! ! 1/2 hr in gardens and only one hour in Versaille palace with huge crowds. The guide only related 4 min of history in van on way to Versaille and did nothing to expand the experience. I would never suggest this tour.

Our tour was absolutely fantastic. We booked the half day tour with audio which was great however the full day tour would have given us more time to explore the gardens. This tour states it is a 4 hour tour of Versailles. The good points it is truly a small group as I booked 6 people and there was only one other person in our group. Our guide was good and informative on the way out to Versaille and back he took a route past the Eiffel tower to avoid heavier traffic which was very good of him and we got to see the small replicate of the statue of liberty. The bad is this is only about a 2 hour tour with 2 hours of driving depending on the traffic. The audio guide is very limited in the information it has about he palace as it only has information on the upper rooms none of the lower rooms. As I said it is not a 4 hour tour we arrived and had about 30 minutes to see the gardens and then about 1.5 hours to tour the palace. This is not long enough. I would say this is not worth the money for the short time you get at the palace. If traffic had been bad we would not have had the time we did have.

Excellent tour! We were picked up at our hotel and transported in a private van with one other small group. The tour guide was very pleasant and helpful! The only downside was that our visit was on a particularly busy day at Versailles and we didn't get to enter on time but otherwise everything was great!! Would definitely recommend this tour and next time we will do the full day because there is so much to see.

A good tour. The tour guide doesn and #39;t do a whole lot as you get a self guided tour when you get there and it and #39;s an incredibly busy place but it and #39;s definitely worth doing this tour just for the convenience of being picked up at your hotel, fast tracked to get in to the palace, and given the audio guide.

Our tour guide was helpful, efficient and knowledgeable. The tour time gave us plenty of time to walk the grounds, the interior and we even had time to grab a coffee from the Cafe Angelina outpost. If you are looking to make the most of your day, the pickup and drop off at the hotel def. took the guessing work out.

This was on our list of places to see when my wife flew over for her vacation. We were picked up at our hotel on time, there were 8 in our group, our guide was able to easily speak 3 languages to talk to all of us. Easy admittance into Versailles, we did the morning half day and had a few hours to wander around. Inside Versailles we had plenty of time to visit all open areas with time for heading outside to see the grounds. Our tour guide was wonderfully prepared to answer questions. Was able to see The Petite Statue of Liberty on our way back to the hotel.

Wally was wonderful. You are really short-changing yourself if you only do a half day to see the palace. It is the second half beyond the main structure where you get to understand the scale of everything. I highly recommend that you take the time to see the grounds, Grand Trianon and Petit Trianon.

This was the worst tour I have ever been on. the guide was terrible, less guide then driver. He was very frantic and confused made everyone on the tour nervous. I actually think he may have some mental health issues. Such a disappointment.

A good quick tour. Driver gave a lot of information and was very informative. We had our own time. Audio guide was ok but if you haven't been before would make you spend a lot of time that could otherwise be spent in more interesting rooms. You would need a longer tour to see more of the outer gardens.

I felt the tour was overpriced for the actual experience. Though the tour mentions 4 hours, you get just 2 hours at Versailles, which is very short duration to do justice to both the palace and the gardens in this time. We got just 45 mins to visit the garden and make our way back to the meeting point.
