Loved this tour. Guide was excellent picked me up at my hotel early. We drove all the way around the island, and I got to see the northern beaches, the western fruit farms, and a western Muslim village, Great overview of Penang Island. The guide was excellent about pointing out a lot of extras such as architectural marvels, and back in George Town he let me out at a food market to try a local specialty and with directions for the short walk back to my hotel.

I would recommend this tour. Though I feel It is a little overpriced It gave us a good overview of Penang. Our guide Lawrence in-depth knowledge of Penang and it's history gave us an good insight into the history and working of this beautiful island.

This is just a drive around penang island with only a driver acting as the tour guide.

Great way to get a qwuick intro the many faces of Penang especially the west coast and away from Georgetown. Our guide Lawrence was v friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the history, culture and environment. Happy to recommend it.

Lawrence picked us up at the hotel and drove us around the island with a running commentary. This tour was excellent, the highlight was the batik factory where we were able to see the craftsmanship and skill involved in making batik fabric. We were also shown where nutmeg was grown and various nutmeg and mace products were made. This was also very interesting and informative. Driving through the various locations gave us ideas about what other sites to visit during our stay in Penang.

We found this Tour truly excellent , due in very great part to the delightful personality of our driver/guide Philip Oh . Within a half hour of his collecting us . from Mansion One , we were chatting away like old friends as he drove us around the Island in the saloon car provided for the Tour . Philip was cheerful , knowledgeable and informative ,, providing us with a wealth of interesting information . The scenic aspects of the drive were memorable , and we were particularly pleased to see something of the ''true'' Malaysia that exists outside the urban and ''touristy'' locations . The stops at the Spice Farm , the Snake Temple and Serpentarium , and the specialist Tea and Coffee Sellers were all fascinating in their different ways . Philip , who had always been at great pains to fall in with our every wish , finally dropped us off at Gurney Plaza , where we wanted to go for lunch , We were genuinely sorry to lose his companionship , which had done so much to make this Tour so thoroughly enjoyable .

Well organised trip and good tour guide but not actually much to see or do on Penang island. The snake Temple was worth a visit but other than that not much to do. If you don't have long in Penang I wouldn't recommend doing this tour, perhaps a tour around Georgetown would be more worth it.

I was not well so the tour dragged. The guide was good and under normal circumstances I would have enjoyed it.

The Penang Island Discovery Tour was a great way to see some wonderful sights on the outskirts on Penang. Phillip was a wonderful tour guide and went above and beyond to make the tour enjoyable and unforgettable. Really enjoyed seeing the large variety of snakes near the snake temple.

A very good overview of Penang Island. Lawrence the guide is very knowledgeable about the island. I was the only person on this tour due to low season.

If your guide is Phillip your in for a happy trip all the way round. There wasn't a question he didn't answer, and he adapted the trip really well to cater for our needs. Its the best way to start a trip to Penang. As a solo traveller its the only tour I could get ! Tour companies need a fresh proach to solo travellers. There were three of is on this trip.

This tour was excellent because our guide Francis was informative, knowledgeable, entertaining and interesting . In fact I would go as far as to say that with out him I would have only given this tour 3 stars.

Very interesting. Our guide spoke English extremely well and was very informative.

Great tour, again we had Moy for our tour guide and he is amazing , such a nice man, with a wealth of knowledge to share. We got more than our allocated time, but thouroughly enjoyed all the points of interest. The batik, factory was good and in fact we ended up doing one on our KL tour as well but thought the Penang one was much better. Highly recommended.

So fortunate to have had Philip as my guide, his local knowledge was terrific, very friendly and easy to speak with. Turned out I was the only customer for the morning so essentially had a private tour of Penang Island and Philip adapted the program to suit my needs. He was able to recommend some of best places for dinner and seafood restaurants in Penang. Highly recommend the tour company for its level of service.

An interesting tour with the obligatory tourist shop stops. Our guide was personable and informative. He showed us the flavor of the entire island and did not make us stay in the required stops.

Very interesting tour, made more so by the particular guide that we had. Visits to the fruit stalls and snake temple were special - but more time needed at the temple to be able to visit the small reptile park as well. We also managed a side trip to the Coffee Tree. Penang white coffee is the best. Highly recommend trying it.
Review by: Sherry V, March 2013
This was a small group of three. Phillip, our tour guide, was great. He was very knowledgeable about each place we went to. He shared his thoughts about Penang and answered questions willingly. It was very interesting and nice to be in a small group.
Review by: Akram A, February 2013
The tour was without a guide, only a driver with broken English, interested only in the property market in the island.Print factory,Fruit market, and Coffee beans factory were commercial breaks,Nevertheless the latter was a good compromise,as the group members were desperate for free coffee drops.

The island of Penang is very beautiful and this tour drives you around the island. I felt that more opportunities to take photos would have been nice, and I would have loved to see the spice farm instead of the drivers friends roadside stand, but all in all it was okay. I was with two others and our tour was in a small car. The driver was pointing and talking while trying to drive a small car, and I felt in danger at times on the small crowded roads. We made it back safely though and the guide was pleasant enough.

Enjoyed all of it
Review by: Patricia C, May 2012
This tour gave us an amazing feel for the entire island of Penang. The drive was beautiful and we enjoyed experiencing the various aspects of the island. All of the stops were interesting, but we definitely felt that they were a bit too "commercial" as the information parts were not as extensive as we would have liked and the "shopping time" allotted was often much longer.

The Penang Island Morning Tour was terrific. We'd never been to Penang before and the tour was an excellent introduction. The bas was clean and comfortable and well driven. Our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and gave us great insight into Penang and Malay history, culture and landmarks, flora and fauna. I would highly recommend this tour for those arriving in Penang wanting to know more about this beautiful island.

My first time using aviator. It was a hassle to start. It was good I had a hotel staff call for confirmation. Our booking was unheard of, so she has to fax our prepaid ticket/voucher. Had to wait for hours to get a confirmation for our next day tour. Was really disappointing considering it was prepaid weeks earlier. We could have wasted our day waiting for nothing without confirming first. It should have been hassle free.
Review by: LIEN HUONG N, February 2012
We booked this tour on a weekend day thinking we could visit the Butterfly Farm instead of the jewelry factory as per tour description on the web page. Were a bit disappointed when informed that the tour no longer visits the Butterfly Farm even on weekends.Apart from that, very pleasant tour overall : pick up on time, very friendly and knowledgeable and accommodating tour guide and driver, comfortable bus, great group etc... The tour tends to be on the "commercial" side though.

An enjoyable tour, made even better by David, the tour guide. The snake temple suprised me, there were far less snakes than when I last visited in 1965!! It was a very pleasant morning's tour. The Batik factory was an eye opener, for the hard work involved in making the designs. It was interesting to see the Malay village, when one sees all the development with high rise accomodation on the Island now.
