You can choose to start your full-day island experience starts from Perth with a cruise down the Swan River and enjoy morning tea while passing local landmarks and the riverfront houses of Millionaire’s Row to the port town of Fremantle. Or you can choose to join the cruise in Fremantle. From Fremantle, it's just a short hop across the ocean to Rottnest Island.
Get to know Rottnest Island on a 90-minute guided wildlife cruise around the island, discovering secluded bays and inlets inhabited by birds, dolphins, seals and other marine life. The afternoon is free to explore the island at your leisure before departing for the mainland. Hire a bike and cycle out to one of the bays, go for a swim at the Basin, or meet the quokkas – Rottnest’s cute resident marsupials.
In the afternoon, get back on the cruiser to make your way back to Fremantle or up the Swan River and back to Perth.
My husband and I took the tour last Sunday and thought it was fantastic. The speed boat ride was lots of fun and the crew, Ollie and Talitha provided great commentary and went that extra mile to find the wildlife around the island. We then spent the rest of the day looking around the island and had lunch at the pub. It's a lovely place to visit whilst in WA. And yes it was very easy to see the quokkas.

Friday the 16th of March my sister and I booked a trip to Rottnest leaving from Fremantle at 9.30 AM on the Rottnest Ferry. We had booked a speed boat outing for an hour and a half going around the whole island. Damo the captain and Des the wildlife expert were our hosts. Instructions were given on how to exspierence a safer ride sitting at the back or more like a roller coaster at the front of the boat. Informing us if Damo sees a opportunity for adventure he is going to hit that wave so be ready for the thrills. Seeing dolphins and seals and then heading back to finish off with a couple of donuts naturally not to eat. Im sure everyone enjoyed the speed boat ride, I know my sister and I did

Loved Rottnest Island and saw several Quokkas. The speed boat ride should not be missed. . We saw seals and stingrays up close riding in the boat. The boat took us to beautiful areas not accessed from the island.

Absolutely the best tour trip my wife and I have ever had the scenery around the island is amazing still pristine and unspoiled by tourism would recommend this tour to anyone you will get the thrill of your life and the crew of the fast speed boat Captain Guy and Des were excellent just make sure you sit at the middle to back of the boat as it can get pretty bumpy highly recommended

I booked my tour over the phone with someone in Los Vegas. It was a pleasant interaction, and I thought all was in order. It turned out I was booked on the wrong tour. The one I did go on was nice, the boat ride was informative, but not worth the money. My time on the island was fun and interesting. Everyone should go over there if you are in Perth.

One of our favourite tours, the wildlife trip was amazing and we got to see lots of whales and other wildlife. The weather was beautiful and we spent a good few hours chilling out on the island seeing the quokkas!

This tour was amazing! After a ferry ride from Fremantle down the Swan river and across the ocean to Rottsnest Island, we were loaded onto the Speed boat. Had fun riding the waves. Saw surfing dolpins, sting rays, fighting seals, and other wild life. After all the sight seeing and a wild ride on the waves we returned to Thomson Bay and still had time for lunch or walk during which I went to the beach and observed the local birds and those little marsupials, quarka?? Rotts? anyways, they were really cute and they are not afraid of humans so please keep your distance to protect them. Would recommend this to anyone who has time for a full day trip while in Perth. This island also looks like a great place to spend a week or so for a great beach vacation with children. Would suggest taking this tour while there as well.

Had a really lovely day trip to Rottnest Island. The 90 minute high speed jet boat wildlife cruise around the island was both informative and thrilling. Absolutely fantastic. The lunch was adequate - A buffet. So, one could eat as much as one fancied and the choice was pretty extensive. After lunch, I had time to stroll around the main settlement area and walked to the nearby lighthouse, where there were some fantastic views back towards Perth. Sadly, I only saw one Quokka but I did see some Galahs.

I really enjoyed my day trip to Rottnest Island. However, I would skip the Wildlife Cruise as I had expected to see more wildlife it wasn't the time of year for whale watching or spotting dolphins. Also, because we were on a speedboat it got very cold and I did not anticipate that. I would have preferred doing the bike tour instead. I did the free guided tour of Rottnest and was amazed by what I learned and the Aboriginal history._br/_ This island is amazing and so worth it to see the Quokkas.

Excellent day out, little swell on the crossing and wildlife cruise, but weather was sunny and very hot, after lunch hired a couple of bikes to cycle round Island. _br/_ Only point to add is that you need to queue at Quay B at the Rottnest ferry ticket office to exchange voucher for your tickets for day trip, this was missing from instructions issued by Viator

It didn't start well as when I got to the pier to start my trip I was told that Viator had not been able to book the Wildlife cruise as it was full. I had booked the evening before and it had been confirmed and payment taken. I did find an e mail from Viator later but feel they should not have accepted my booking without getting confirmation first. The Rottnest staff did offer me the ferry crossing and then told me they could book me on a later Wildlife cruise which I accepted._br/_ This stuff happens but the timings meant I could not do much on the island itself, due to the lateness of the wildlife cruise and the wind had risen in the afternoon meaning we got very wet, saw no wales or dolphins and I got so cold I couldn't think straight._br/_ So, if you do decide on the Wildlife part, go early and wear warm clothing under the waterproofs they provide. Don't be put off Rottnest by my comments but I would seriously think twice about doing the wild boat trip again. The island itself is worth a day trip and you might even see some Quokkas.

A quite beautiful island, be careful if you go on the Wildlife Cruise though if you are scared of water, turns out it's a white knuckle speedboat ride around the wonderful coastline. It's great fun though with 2 really top guys. As for the island it is a place of rare beauty, I would advise staying there a few days to take it all in

This was a great day. Enjoyed the ride down the Swan River. Didn't really know we were getting on an adventure boat tour. But it was fun and thankful they gave us spray jackets. Saw some seals and an osprey. Rottnest Island is a place you shouldn't miss if visiting Perth. Like going back in time!!! Love there are only bicycles and scooters on the island.

Viator booking was a disaster. I would never use Viator again. The Wildlife cruise was booked out even though it allowed me to book it online. There were many phone calls to reorganize it and still you have it wrong!!!!! Rottnest Express fortunately were able to assist me with sorting out the mess.
