Great Barrier Reef Sailing and Snorkeling Cruise from Port Douglas
USD $188.00

Great Barrier Reef Sailing and Snorkeling Cruise from Port Douglas

Port Douglas, Australia

Set sail from Port Douglas for a day of snorkeling and relaxing on the Great Barrier Reef’s Low Isles. The sheltered white sands are surrounded by tropical waters filled with fish, turtles and coral for pristine off-beach snorkeling, just moments away from Low Isles . This smaller cruise is limited to 33 passengers, ensuring good company and helpful assistance from the crew. A buffet lunch is included, along with a reef interpretation sail in a glass-bottom boat with an expert marine biologist as your guide

Sail from Port Douglas aboard a luxury catamaran to visit Low Isles in the quieter morning hours, before the majority of visitors arrive. After cruising from the mainland, arrive at Low Isles, where you can spend four and a half hours at Low Isles, a coral cay island where you can relax under palm trees on the white sands and snorkel off-beach in the sheltered lagoon’s undersea coral gardens.

Take a walk to Low Isles’ historic lighthouse, dating from 1878, or learn about the Great Barrier Reef’s magical underwater world of iridescent fish and fluorescent coral on a guided snorkel tour led by a marine biologist. There’s more fun eco-education aboard a glass-bottom boat tour, with stunning coral views and expert commentary.

After a seafood buffet lunch on board the catamaran, soak up the sun on the deck or return to the water for a final snorkel before returning to Port Douglas by 4pm.

Only a select group of operators are permitted to visit the coral cay Low Isles, the only Great Barrier Reef island a short sail from Port Douglas. This cruise combines luxury and eco credentials, for a premium reef experience.

I was very impressed with this tour as we were blessed to have some marine biologists with us. The group size was perfect to allow for a more relaxed atmosphere and better quality service. Would most definitely recommend this tour for anyone looking to go explore the Great Barrier Reef.

Our family mom, dad and four teenage kids thoroughly enjoyed this trip. The ship has a limited number of guests, which made a big difference when snorkeling. The crew is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. It was a safe, relaxed atomsphere. We didn't feel rushed when we were snorkeling. The food was excellent. And sailing back it is a sail boat was a bonus. We'd do it again.

Excellent but know that it is the inner reef. Saw and swam alongside a turtle which was my highlight. The food provided during the day was amazing and plentiful.

We had a great time, the crew was amazing. The food was outstanding. A bit disappointed with the snorkel area. I've done a tour before with another company and saw more vibrant fish and turtles, baby sharks. Overall it was great.

We had a great time on this tour, all the tour's we did where as small as possible. The mates where very good and fun! Very organized and went over the safety procedures with us._br/_ Enjoyed the snorkeling although the water was not to clear this particular day. Overall, a lot of fun! Good fins and snorkel's, nice skin's to wear. Good Day! _br/_ Debbi

Both of us Octogenarian. Felt a little overwhelm by the young experienced divers in our group. Yet we tried and it was quite an experience or reach the Great Barrier Reef on the small Isle where we arrived to stage our snorkeling experience. The waves were very strong with the small boat we left from Port Douglas. No matter how much ginger tablets, which didn't worked for sea sickness, I took the anti-sea sickness pills, Meclizine as soon as we were on the boat. It did helped the nausea._br/_ The small group of 21 passengers compared to the cruise ship over 100 was a relief to get the attention of the staff. Two ladies served us with great snacks and lunch. We were divided into two groups for the snorkeling experience, beginner and advance , where we were kept close to the shore and snorkeling around. The first time to snorkel wearing the flippers was very strenuous and breathing through the mouth is another challenge. Had experience diving with out the equipments and saw beautiful coral reefs in the Pacific Ocean while growing up in the Philippines. Comparing the reefs was a little disappointed to see much bleaching of the corals. We accomplished what we went for this cruise experience to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia but also tell us to be aware of the global warming, which Australia is doing a great job of doing their share of environmental protection.

Boat was beautiful and the staff very professional. Food and refreshments were very good. The Low Isles is a very busy spot and the reef not brightly coloured but we did see turtles and a white tipped shark. The staff were helpful as one of our party was a nervous novice and even he managed to snorkel on both occasions . The equipment was good quality and they made sure everyone had a chance to fit it before arriving at the snorkel sight.

We booked the Sailing and Snorkelling Tour to Low Isles. This was our first adventure when in Port Douglas and certainly one I would recommend._br/_ The crew were very customer focussed and couldn't have taken better care of everyone. They were very knowledgeable and keen to offer everyone a fantastic experience, even spending one to one time helping those who had never snorkelled before and were a bit apprehensive._br/_ The catering was first class and they didn't skimp. We had a full buffet lunch with a great choice that would suit everyone and tea with a plentiful supply of muffins, cakes and pastries._br/_ I would highly recommend the tour.

This tour was one of the best we have been on._br/_ The crew were very helpful and knowledgable and the catamaran we sailed on was only 3 years old and in superb condition, with a capacity of only about 30 guests which is good if you like a more personal trip._br/_ Very often on trips such as this the buffet lunch is a disappointment, this was certainly not the case here, with a good selection of cold meats, salads and fruit. Undoubtedly this was probably the best buffet lunch we have experienced on the many trips we have undertaken around the world._br/_ The Low Isles are a good choice if you want to sail part way to the main barrier reef._br/_ Snorkelling was good with options for experienced snorkelling or inexperienced snorkelling._br/_ A short guided walk explains the history of the island, on which there is a lighthouse on which ospreys are nesting._br/_ All things considered this trip rates as one of the best we have undertaken.

Very professional trip with great food and facilities. Unfortunately the sea was rough so visibility at the Low Isles was not the best.

So happy we went with a smaller company! Crew was amazing, boat was beautiful and only about 18 people on charter so didn't have to deal with large crowds other tours herd on their cargo loads. Beautiful lunch on board and again can't rave about crew enough. So nice, had I had more time in Port Douglas, would have booked this for a second day. Sailed home from lower island - amazing trip!!

Small group, early in the day, the only way to go. Crew so nice! We had a perfect day to snorkel - no wind, sunny, absolutely perfect weather. Lunch was good too.

There are so many travel options to view the Great Barrier Reef, but I was concerned about being with a large group of people. This was the perfect trip. We were picked up, which was lovely, and it only went up from there. The captain was wonderful, and the biologist who lead the snorkeling were knowledgeable. My 25 year-old son had a blast riding on the front of the sail boat on the way home.

This is a excellent tour, a slow trip out to the low isles on a smart clean catarman taking in the Sun and getting kitted up with our snorkelling equipment, then into the water and some excellent viewing of the reef and its in habitants all whilst being looked after by the crew. After a very nice lunch we got the chance for another snorkel, this time with a small reef shark and some very large fish which was simply fantastic, then it was up with the sails and and a leisurely trip back to land. Over all a geat experience.

Great service and day, picked us up from our accommodation on time, all the people were great especially Gab who took us snorkelling. I am not a good swimmer and she went to great efforts to see I was good and because I was slow also ensured I did not miss anything, thank you so much Gab._br/_ Lunch was very good as well plus being on a boat that only took a small number of people unlike some of the other companies who take large numbers made the day much more enjoyable and personalised.

This trip was out of this world!!! swam with turtles and the odd shark. It is a small boat with friendly staff. The buffet was to die for. Much easier to snorkel for the first time from a picturesque island. This was in the morning and in the afternoon we went in from the boat. Takes about an hour to get out to the island and back , so plenty of time to relax and enjoy a cold beer and good company. We had travelled across Asia , Australia and ,New Zealand and can honestly say that this trip will stand out in our memories.

We absolutely loved this full day tour. We were worried about the big boats and all the crowding for seats, food etc so went with this smaller tour. I'm glad we did. We only had 11 people on board and had the most amazing day. I was 28 weeks pregnant and they catered for me with plenty of lunch options and ensuring I was comfortable on the board, on the island and in the sea.

This was certainly a highlight for our Australia trip. Charlotte even got my wife snorkelling which was like a miracle. Everything was great, the boat so clean, lunch was great, equipment was first class, This day on a luxury Catamaran combined with the professionalism of the Crew is a great value for the money.

Fantastic tour. Was a really fun day out exploring the reef. The crew were very friendly and informative. The lunch and nibbles provided were nice. We were able to spend a large amount of time in the water and a good amount of time on the island. It didn't feel like we were rushed at all. Overall, great experience!

A great experience and honestly cannot express just how much I would HIGHLY recommend this company in particular. I had REALLY bad sea sickness sailing there and back due to the rough waters that day and unfortunately couldn't say it was as enjoyable as I may have hoped, but that was definitely not without effort from the crew. They were all very knowledgeable, kind, caring and understanding of the water conditions and made the experience as great as it could have possibly been despite it all.

The Sail Away staff were very helpful, organised and knowledgeable. We were provided with stinger suits as well as snorkeling equipment and the staff were very encouraging for beginners as well as informative for more experienced snorkelers. The lunch provided was excellent and the trip very sociable with such a small group.

Amazing day sailing and snorkeling on this cruise. Nice sail boat with very friendly and helpfull staff. You travel with a relative small group of people and you arrive first on the reef where the snorkeling takes place. This is before the place is overwhelmed by tourist of the bigger boats and cruises. Great food for lunch and good instructions when snorkeling. Saw a lot of turtles and beautiful fish.

First class all the way. The service was impeccable and the sites visited were outstanding. The skipper was very professional and friendly. Great sailing on the day of our visit to low isles. Our guide was very knowledgable and took the time lead the group to grant snorkelling sites. Overall an outstanding day

What a day!!! Having been on the larger tours to the outer reefs in the past, ignore them and go on this one. Much better to be on a luxury smaller Catamaran, with an excellent skipper two great guides in and out of the water and superb lunch onboard afterwards. To see Turtles in their natural environment, a stunning coral reef, fish and blacktop reef sharks made the day one to remember for ever.

This tour was perfect for the beginner snorkellers. The only thing is that it takes 2hrs there and back. It certainly wasn't a rough ride as we went to the inner side of the Great Barrier Reef. The people running the tour were excellent, the food was lovely and we're glad we chose this option.
