Las Caletas Day Tour from Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Explore Mexico's answer to the Garden of Eden on this Las Caletas day trip from Puerto Vallarta. This day trip to the exclusive and enchanting coastal haven on Banderas Bay will allow you to get away from it all, kick back, relax and let all the stress slip away. A great family friendly adventure to be enjoed by everyone!

Las Caletas, only accessible by sea, is a well-secluded nature preserve that stands out against a steep, jungle-clad backdrop of green canopies in an isolated cove on the southern shores of Banderas Bay. As you cruise towards this tropical paradise aboard your first-class catamaran, you'll enjoy the most fantastic coastal scenery that Puerto Vallarta has to offer.

Upon arrival at Las Caletas, you can choose between a day of pure relaxation or gentle exploration. If relaxing is on your personal agenda, you can kick back on the beach, relax in the shade on a comfortable hammock or indulge in a therapeutic body massage or facial.

As you relax and unwind, the gentle lapping of the surf on the private golden beach beckons you to take a closer look at the calm, clear waters of the isolated cove. Throughout the day, the bilingual eco-guides offer snorkeling, scuba diving and kayaking tours, giving everyone a chance to explore Banderas Bay in a fun and exciting way.

On land, you can take a Paella cooking lesson, discover Las Caletas' prolific flora and bird life on a free guided nature walk through the jungle, orchid gardens and interactive parrot center, or explore the natural amphitheater and the Mayan Pyramid that serves as center stage for the contemporary dance performance on the Rhythms of the Night tour.

Note: Breakfast and the Paella cooking lesson are not included in the 11:30am tour.

This was a nice way to spend the day if you want to get away from your hotel. The tour company have really got this down, staff is pleasant and helpful, food is plentiful and good, and although there can be a lot of people it didn't seem like it. They have a lot of activities to appeal to everyone. I went to the cooking show, it was entertaining.

Review by:   Catherine A,    October 2017 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
The day of the tour it was literally pouring outside and they didn't cancel, which would have been preferable since it rained most of the day and we were limited to what activities we could do. They even delayed leaving the dock since it was raining so hard, which was a good time to cancel. It didn't clear up till we were leaving of course and the show they put on for the ride back was, in my opinion, unnecessary. They could have just played music and that would have been fine. Also, we could not understand a word that the guide was saying, the sound system could use some work as it was all muffled. Would definitely not do this tour. There are other activities that are much better.

We loved this excursion! The boat staff was amazing and the location was so beautiful and relaxing. They had something for everyone and we really enjoyed the extra's we did the sea lions were the highlight of our trip. If you know going in that you are going to buy the photos, have them take as many as you can so that you get your money's worth!

Fun boat ride and well worth going! The weather wasn't good the day we went, but we still went kayaking, paddle boarding and saw a lot of fish snorkeling. A great trip!

Not as long as promised! Were told we could leave at 8 am, spend the day, but when we called to confirm, we were told we couldn't leave until 12pm! Return was 4:45, so trip was way shorter than we were told. Other than that, we made the best of it! Food at resort was excellent, services at resort excellent, boat ride, crew, all you can drink, all fabulous!

This was so much fun! From boarding the boat to Las Caletas to the boat ride back, the staff was cheerful and seemed to think of everything before we could ask. Las Caletas is like a paradise. You can relax in a beach hammock or if you are more daring take a zip line into the ocean. I highly recommend paying extra for the sea lion and diamond ray excursion. Swimming with them was the highlight of my vacation. It was incredible to be so close to such amazing creatures! Also a big thanks to their awesome photographer Karla for capturing those special moments.

One of the best excursion/tours I have ever been on! Top of the line, my girlfriend and I had so much fun!

It was pouring down cats and dogs and we were hoping we could reschedule the tour. No luck, they said it would continue through rain or shine. So we lost over 200 and didn't bother signing up for any other tours. I had to give this a star or I would not be able to submit my review.

It was rainy but that didnt stop a great time. The beach is amazing, the food was fantastic, and the drinks were great and plenty of them. Omar the bartneder was awesome! We will definitely do thus again.

The best part of the whole trip was the crew on the boat, and the entertainment they provided.

We enjoyed the tour, the staff was very accommodating, the grounds are beautiful and the lunch was excellent. Unfortunately, it seemed very short - we didn't arrive until 10:00 am and started lining up for the return trip at 2:20. There just wasn't enough time to do all of the actvities. The Viator ad/voucher says the tour includes hotel pick-up, but it doesn't. When we phoned to arrange pick-up time, we were told that we had to find our own way to the marina - unacceptable!

This was a great trip and well worth the money although if you attend a time share presentation you can get a better rate than Viator provided. Our gray Line driver took our vouchers without telling us she was not the proper contact for these trips- although she was for our transportation voucher. We hadn't called to check the 2 vouchers she took so we didn't know she didn't represent those companies as well. It made for a sloppy start to our vacation.

We loved the trip to Las Caletas. The only regret was there was a lot to take in and not enough leisure time following all of the activities. It would have been nice if we could have stayed longer following lunch. The return time could have been pushed out to 330 to 400PM to allow more time to sun and enjoy the beach.

We are cruise people and we booked this trip on-line prior to sailing. Cheaper than going through the cruise line, but we had fellow cruisers on the trip with us, same excursion. The "ticket booth" is right where the ship docks, so it was perfect. I wish someone would have written how easy it was to catch the tour off the ship. The trip itself was great! Nice hour and a half boat ride to the beach and the crew was entertaining. Food was great and the setting for lunch was like a tropical paradise. The beach was constantly being groomed and very neat. I would recommend if you don't want to do the shopping route in town.
