This tour was a highlight to our trip! My husband and I love champagne but until now, we had not realized the time and effort that goes into making the perfect glass of bubbly to be paired with various dishes. We always think of pairing wines with different courses but sampling different champagnes only add to the enjoyment of your culinary delights! Our guide was Amanda and she was wonderful! We had to get to the railroad ourselves but the Metro service in Paris is very timely and not at all difficult to navigate. We met Amanda at the station and once our fellow passengers joined us, we were off to a most enjoyable day. Amanda drove us around giving us the history of Reims, visited the beautiful Notre Dam of Reims, visited the historic Veuve du Clicquot where we learned the intricacies of making champagne and the history of this manufacturer. We then went on a beautiful ride through the countryside to local owned champagnerie to enjoy a three course lunch paired with a different champagnes to compliment every course. We ended our tour with a family owned business in a charming town and got an education on the co-ops that help eachother to produce the champagne of the region. Again, more sampling of delicious champagnes and then back to the train to return to Paris. The day was a thorough delight!

This was a wonderful tour. Our guides provided background on the area, the cathedral and the 3 Champagne tastings. My only wish is that they would have paid better attention to getting us back to the train on time as requested. Even after several reminders they barely got us back with only minutes to spare.

Amazing tour. It was the prefect balance of history, architecture, and champagne. We were able to see a big champagne house, a co-op, and a smaller house - which allowed us to compare and contrast. Our tour guides were super knowledgeable and friendly - and had great sense of humors. I would recommend this tour for anyone.

We book many tours via Viator. This is not one I would recommend. The trip to Veuve Cliquot was the best part of the trip. The tour was informative and it was interesting to learn the process of champagne production. The tasting was a nice ending if a bit underwhelming. The rest of the tour was a waste. Visiting the other two locations provided no new info and I dont feel a need to hear about the process of making champagne three timesliterally the same infospoiler alert: the grapes are pressed very gently. The lunch at the 2nd location was fine and the company of the other guests enjoyable. The 3rd location again was literally a walk into two room with equipment in them and a third explanation of the process of making champagne. The tastings in each were fine. It does feel a bit like being driven around to places to hopefully buy their product.

Thank you, Amanda, our amazing tour guide for a fun and informative day touring and tasting at champagne houses near Reims. We toured the caves at Veuve Cliquot , enjoyed lunch with champagne at a cooperative and finally tasted even more bubbly at a small and very picturesque house further out in the beautiful countryside. AManda gave us a good tour of the Reims cathedral and was a fountain of information about the history of Reims and the making of champagne. Go on this tour!

An excellent tour. We managed to switch into Laura's group about two hours into the day- I highly recommend requesting her as your tour guide, if possible. She was knowledgeable, fun, friendly, and full of fascinating facts about both champagne-making and Reims itself.

Excellent tour! So glad we did this. We took the early train from Paris to Reims not included in tour. The tour company picked us up at the station and the tour started right away. We drove around town while the driver provided commentary and a bit of history, which was so interesting. I really didn't know how Reims was affected during WWI. Before our visit to the Vueve Cliquot caves, we stopped at the the cathedral for a quick tour. The tour of the caves and the tasting afterward were amazing. We also visited two more wineries that were just as excellent. Lunch was great and well organized. Overall, I give this tour five stars. Highly recommended.

This was a very nice tour. The champagnes we tasted were excellent and the quantity was, frankly, more than we really needed even though we specifically booked the full day tour to make sure we got a full sampling. The lunch and the setting were great, but it was a bit of an over long trip to get there. The only other slight negative was that Veuve Cliquot tour guide spoke fairly heavily accented French. For me, with the echoing caves and somewhat diminished hearing acuity, most of it was lost. My wife said she got about 80 of it.

Very well organized and quality food and champagnes. Great way to learn about champagne production. You get to visit a negotiant or large producer, visit a cooperative and a boutique producer. Deffinately a 5 star experience.

On May 2, 2017, I booked a tour with Trip Advisor of Veuve Clicquot in Reims, France, for Monday, August 21, 2017, as a gift for my wife's birthday and we received a conformation and contact information for the local tour company. Our VISA card was charged in full 3 days later. When we arrived on Saturday afternoon, 8/19/2017, we were advised that there are no tours of Veuve Clicquot on Sunday or Monday as they are closed on those days and have been for years. This was our worst tour experience in 13 separate trips to France over the last 30 years.

An enjoyable and informative tour. Our guide Laura was knowledgeable and friendly. All the wine makers were welcoming and interesting. The champagne was lovely and we tried many different types. Lunch was nice but could have been better, no vegetables with the main course. There was only 4 people on the tour.

Can't miss this tour! My husband and I spent 18 days across Amsterdam, Florence, South of France and Paris and this was one of our top experiences during the entire trip! We lucked out and actually were the only 2 on the tour so it was like a private tour some companies will cancel altogether if there are just 2 so that shows you the professionalism of this particular company. Our guide, Lucie was simply amazing. She has such a deep knowledge and passion for champagne and wine in general - she truly is an expert. She is also a local of Reims and has great knowledge for the city itself as well as for the different vineyards and the culture of the region.

Loved it. We went on a Monday so got to go to Mumm which was our preferred stop anyway along with 2 boutique wineries. Some of the information at each one was repetitive but there were plenty of tastings and glasses of champagne to drink and the three places were all very different so that was good. Our guide in the mini van was just lovely and it has just made me want to spend more time in the area.

This was a great day. A little bit of everything. We went on a Friday so that we could visit Veuve Cliquot. Her story is very inspiring. Her 'house' did not disappoint. They have large plaques on the wall throughout the cellar to commemorate employees who have worked there for over 40 years. They are running out of space. That says a lot about a company. The cathedral tour was just what I wanted. So much history within that space. Then a short drive through the region to a co-op house. Brief tour and lunch with a flight. All bubbles! It was wonderful. The last stop was to a family that made their own champagne from their own grapes. We call them grower champagnes in the states. Everything she poured for us was great. I only wish we could have shipped home. Our guide Laura was fun, knowledgeable and kept us on track. I would recommend it to anyone! Because I love champagne a few more tastes would have been nice but It was a lovely day and I'd do it again!

Highly recommend. We took the Paris train arrival 845 am and departed on 5:15 back to city. Our guide was fabulous! Lara was educational, interesting, charming and fun! The lunch was delicious and we learned a ton throughout the day. France Intense was the tour company I believe.

We had a wonderful tour of Reims and Reims Cathedral with a knowledgeable, friendly and charming guide. But, the highlight of the tour was the visit to Veuve Cliquot where we visited the caves and heard the story of The Widow Cliquot and how she revolutionized champagne production. We had our first taste of champagne for the day in the Maison Cliquot showroom. We continued the day with visits to two smaller vineyards, a delicious lunch and more champagne. Many thanks to our guide, Laura, for giving us great memories of France.

Excellent tour, very informative about the history and production of champagne our teenage kids enjoyed. Excellent choice of Champagne Houses, although we were not able to visit Veuve which was our reason for choosing this tour. Our guide was excellent in her knowledge about the region.

Our best day in France by far!!! Guide was the best her family was in the champagne business so had insider knowledge, and the tours were amazing!! We saw a perfect variety of champagne houses, from large to medium to small, and we tasted LOTS of champagne. It was also probably the best lunch we had in France at a champagne house with champagne with every course!! There was also time to see the stunning cathedral in Reams. Very easy to get the train out of Paris, with convenient pickup right in front of the train station in Reams!!

This tour is very good. The Veuve visit was excellent, as were the two additional vineyard stops, one medium size, where a very nice lunch was served with tastings, followed by another quite small vineyard. The only suggestion is that an effort should be made, if possible, to incorporate a bit more of Reims into the tour. For example it would be interesting to spend a few minutes at the Museum of the Surrender or the Basilique St-Remi. That said, the tour as is is quite good.

This tour provides a perfect day in the Champagne region! We were picked up at the Reims train station in a nice large van, and shared the tour with only 3 other couples. It was the perfect size group for the tours. Our guide, Raphael, was incredibly nice and knowledgeable! He kept us entertained, and knew a lot of information about the region and champagne houses. We visited three houses, and throughout the day were given 8 glasses of champagne 2 extra since there were two birthdays in our group! The lunch at the second champagne house was very delicious! Each tour provided a different perspective on the champagne-making process, so we were able to see the entire process, piece by piece. Since the grapes hadn't harvested yet, we also stopped in a field to look at the grapes and vines, and learn more about the growing and harvesting process.

Absolutely loved this tour. Small group was fantastic and going to 3 very different champagne houses. Veuve Clicquot was a highlight and the main reason I chose this tour- loved the champagne cave tour. However, lunch and the other two champagne houses was fantastic. The tour guide was very knowledgable. I highly recommend it.

What can we say?! Veuve was amazing. Wow what amazing grounds (take a jacket because it gets cold down in the cellars) I was freezing but, the tour itself was informative and very educational. Great tour guides!! The lunch was fantastic!!

Great day and good company . There was only my spouse and me with one other couple in the van so it felt very personalized. Our tour guide was great as well. There was even time to stop and take photos of the hillsides of Hautvillers. Did not feel rushed very pleasant day.

This was a perfect first-day tour in Reims because we got a little bit of a tour of the city and the Cathedral before the champagne tastings. Lunch, at a charming small champagne house, was delicious. Justine was super-knowledgeable and a fun guide. We would recommend this tour highly.
