Imagine cruising along the Riviera Maya on a luxury 45 foot (14 meter) catamaran, snorkeling in the crystal clear waters, and lazing in the sun while enjoying free drinks and snacks. Does life get any better?
After a 15 minute briefing on board, you will depart from the Dolphin Area, Puerto Aventuras Marina, with soft drinks service, fresh fruit platters, great music and turtle spotting. You'll arrive to a secluded cove, where the boat will anchor, and you can snorkel on the pristine coral amongst 22 species of tropical fish. Because of the location, this makes for a safe and interesting snorkel location, perfect for the entire family.
After snorkeling, you'll enjoy a box lunch including a sandwich (ham, cheese or tuna), chips, cookies or a piece of cake and fresh fruits.
You will then return to the open water and sail to a second area that looks like a natural swimming pool. Enjoy your time floating, swimming or simply relaxing in these turquoise waters with a cold drink in your hand!
You will dock back at Puerto Aventuras and be transported back to your hotel via air-conditioned van.
Fat Cat picked us up at Grand SunSet Princess and the proceed to pick up about 5 other stops. We got to the catamaran and sail to our snorkel spot .Beer and margaritas on board. A nice sandwich chip bag and granola bar for lunch. We saw stingray-baby shark-eel, and beautiful fish. They gave me a fish to feed other school of fish Pretty cool. Highly recommend . Any time on the water is a good time!

We had a great time on this tour. The Crew was friendly and very accommodating. Although we didn't see much other than fish when snorkeling, it was a great experience. The boat was very nice and clean and we all felt comfortable throughout the trip. The sandwiches they gave us for lunch were very good and the non-stop rum punch was great. It was fun when swimming at the sand bar and the crew would throw beers to anyone who wanted one. All-in-all a great memory with my family! I'd definitely go again!

FANTASTIC. Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. This is run extremely well. Our hosts OSCAR and SAMMY were outstanding--gave info on potty use, cranked up the great tunes, and got us moving--at a smooth, gentle pace no seasickness--hooray. Delicious rum punch served ALL the time, and sodas to those who preferred. The provided lunch--I am astonished to say this--was really delicious, an assortment of large, well-made sandwiches and chips. Kids snorkeled and saw stingrays and beautiful fish close up. The second stop, for swimming--a stunning turquoise lagoon. We loved every single moment!

Driver showed up on time to my hotel. Very pleasant to ride with to the marina. The crew on the boat never let my glass get empty and were always asking how I was doing. The snorkeling was spectacular! Sea turtles, sting rays and gorgeous fish all around. The catamaran ride is fun all by itself. I would highly recommend this trip. I took the morning tour which I have heard it much less crowded and it seemed that way. I recommend spending extra time at Puerto Adventuras. I wish I had more time there when I got off the boat. Shopping, food,etc. Very pretty place.

The pick up at the hotel was prompt and early and the trip was nothing short of amazing. The crew did everything possible to make this a memorable experience and was definitely a highlight of the vacation. This is a cannot miss adventure for those who enjoy being on the water and having a relaxing afternoon.

Fat Cat was outstanding! Very clean van picked us up on time and the driver was outstanding. Fat Cat 2 boat, crew and overall experience was more and better than I expected! The snorkeling was great and the jumping from the boat was a highlight for our grandsons!

This is something I would do over and over again. It was an absolute ball! The highlight was of course was when we got off the boat to snorkel in the coral reef. The guide lifted up rocks and pulled out the sea creature that inks which he squeezed a little bit and it sprayed purple stuff. He was able to pick up all sorts of exotic sea beings that you only see in movies and they were just a couple feet in from of us. There were sting rays swimming right under us and we were even able to pet a sea turtle! The boat ride itself was peaceful and relaxing but also a lot of fun! They were fishing off the back end and caught a Tuna. It was wonderful! The only downside was having to much fun and being hung-over the next day. :

Most definitely a 5 star!!!! Wonderful staff, beautiful scenery, couldn't have asked for anything more! We had a mix-up getting there and they were so accommodating and really got us out of a jam. So grateful to them! The snorkeling was fabulous...swam with sea turtles and sting rays and really enjoyed the whole trip. I HIGHLY recommend this excursion! Way worth the money. Amazing day out on the water. We sailed towards Puerto Morales where we jumped in to pristine waters to snorkel. There were few people at this location so it felt more intimate. Unexpectedly, we saw several sea turtles and rays while in the water who were very friendly. Lunch was yummy and our last stop was in a cove that the kids, young and old, were able to jump off the catamaran. Loved our day with FAT CATS!

This was an amazing trip!! The car picked us up promptly!!! The catamaran itself was beautiful and the crew was so friendly and accommodating! We had a great afternoon 2-6 and the pictures we were able to take were awesome!! We had an amazing time snorkeling - saw lots of fish, 2 sea turtles, coral reef and sting rays! The crew even caught a tuna which we all took photos of. Then we went to a natural swimming area where we were able to jump off the side of the boat and swim around. It was a trip of a lifetime and a fantastic way to celebrate my husband's birthday!!! Highly recommend!

This trip as far as it goes is one of the best that i've made till now. The boat was very nice, the crew was amazing very friendly and happy people they even managed to catch a Dorado on our way back. It was really nice trip.

The catamaran and snorkeling was amazing. We saw a couple sea turtles and our guide made sure we received a great tour of the reef. We were lucky that the weather was terrific, but also lucky that we had such great guides for our trip. We will definitely use "Fat Cat" tours next time we want to snorkel. The crew was great and kept the outing fun however they didn't do the boom net as shown in many reviews (which we were looking forward to) and the snorkeling wasn't very good as the entire group was herded through a reef and then directly back to the boat (I had expected like most other snorkeling tours I had done that once we were in the reef area we'd be allowed to explore around at a leisure rather than being herded hurriedly through a mostly dead reef). We didn't get to see much in the water in terms of sealife I think mostly due to the hurried nature and swimming in a pack of 30 people and trying to avoid getting kicked by others. The swimming in the protected bay was great and a good way to finish the day

It was an awesome day trip! The crew was great, the lunch was good, and the boat was clean. The only thing I would mention is that is was a rocky ride out to where we snorkeled, so not for those with a uneasy stomach. Would do it again!

One of the best catamaran trips i have ever been on in the Caribbean. The crew were 1st class and were constantly supplying us with drinks and were so helpful and great fun. The snorkeling was superb and we got a guided snorkel excursion where we actually saw sea turtles up close and the coral was beautiful. The final component was a nice swim off of the boat where the crew threw us beer while we bobbed around on our life preservers. It wasn’t just a typical catamaran ride but really unique. We all had a great time.

We went on the most fantastic catamaran tour from Puerto Aventuras, a marina south of Playa del Carmen. Our host was very entertaining. What was truly the best thing I have ever done on any tour, was to ride on the boom in the back of the catamaran! It was essentially a large net that we held onto while the boat was driving. It was an absolute blast.

We did two very unique things that I have never seen before -first was the ability to ride the net on the back of the boat - A MUST do for anyone! The second extremely fun part was being deposited in the water with our "life jacket diapers" - this is when you turn your diaper upside down and put it through your legs - you can bob around the ocean in your "diaper" while having drinks thrown to you from the boat! What a great day!

I've been on several catamaran tours, and they are all just a little bit different. Lunch was great, and the ride was fun. The crew kept it lively. The crew almost caught a fish off of the back of the boat. We witnessed sea turtles swimming next to us and Dolphin.
