Kaituna River features grade 5 rapids plus the awesome 7 meter (21 feet) Tutea Falls, the worlds highest commercially rafted waterfall. Take the ultimate thrill ride on this Kaituna River white water rafting tour.
Your day will begin with a pickup from your hotel. From here you will be taken to the airport base where you will obtain your equipment and participate in a safety briefing as well as quick training. After this you'll proceed to Kaituna River.
You can't get more thrills and action than on a grade 5 rapid. Fast and furious, you'll ride through foamy water over the seven meter drop waterfall!
Most of the trip runs through a very narrow gorge with sheer rock walls clad in ferns and other native plants providing a truly stunning backdrop to this exciting tour.
Although this trip provides full on action the pool drop nature of the river means it is not technically difficult so the trip is suitable for adventurous beginners. In fact around 70% of customers have never rafted before.
Around 15 - 20 minutes of training is provided prior to the trip teaching all the required paddle commands and safety information.
Situated in the Okere Falls Scenic Reserve the river is pool drop, meaning that every rapid is followed by calm water making it very forgiving for a grade 5 river.

This was our first whitewater rafting trip and it was AMAZING. It's an easy yet exciting trip for beginners. The guides were a great. They worked hard to ensure that everyone had fun - and - got dunked at least once. :- Reviewing the photos they took after returning to their office was almost as much fun as the trip itself.

It was awesome! Such a great experience and wonderful tour. Plus we got to jump off and swim in the water, hear history of the area, and just had a great time. The guys were awesome in making the experience worthwhile. I would do it again!

It was a great experience, even though I don't like water. They were organised and professional giving good instructions at the start. On the river was fabulous, building confidence on two smaller rapids first and then the big 7m drop which was awesome.- we did not tip over ! Having done the big one the pressure was off and good simply enjoy the remaining rapids. Totally recomended.

Absolutely fantastic, one of the longest rafting rivers, the guys leading it were brilliant. 50 minutes was not long enough though! Definitely recommend sitting on the front of the raft if offered.

Absolutely amazing!! So much more fun than I was expecting!!! One of the best things we did on our trip! The "big" waterfall was insane and so much fun. Try to sit in the front if you can! It was our first time white water rafting, and I was a little nervous. The instructors were great and helped explain everything really well. Be prepared to get a decent workout paddling though. Oh, and make sure to spend the extra money for the pictures. You can't take a camera with you, so they're definitely worth it!
