Mozart Dinner Concert Salzburg

Salzburg, Austria

Travel back to Mozart’s time with this 2.5-hour dinner and concert in Salzburg. Enjoy an evening likely to have taken place in 1790 in the Baroque Hall, with candlelight, a 3-course dinner based on historical recipes, and a Mozart concert with musicians in authentic costumes.

After taking your seat, enjoy arias and duettos from The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, and The Marriage of Figaro, as well as the very famous first movement of A Little Night Music. The Baroque Hall is one of the last concert halls in Salzburg where candlelight is still permitted.

The single courses of the dinner are served during the concert intermissions. (See a sample menu in the Itinerary section below.) Look forward to hearing a concert of highest quality with unique artists.

Terrible night, of all the beautiful music that Mozart wrote, we were offered three pieces, one at the beginning of each bracket, the rest of the night was taken up with opera. The male singer was a baratone and very good the female singer reminded me of why I don't like opera. I went to listen to Mozart and was prepared to suffer a bit of opera for the pleasure not the other way around. The meal was passable.the night ended with the desert, not with a musical score, which I found surprising. This meant we finished our desert and then had to wait 20 minutes for our waiter to appear with our bill, we had seen him twice during the whole night and he then had the audacity to ask for a tip, not good

This was a horrible experience. The staff was rude to one of the patrons who complained that her food was not hot enough. The event started half an hour late. After being seated for 2 hours there was only 15 minutes of music played by the string quintet. The food was mediocre at best. Two groups at my table left early due to the lackluster experience. I would not suggest this to anyone. I was highly disappointed with everything that took place.

The music and setting is what carried this event. The food was okay, but don't expect top-level service. We were turned off by the add-on drinks/drink prices. For the price of the tickets we should have at least been offered water at no charge.

This night was the highlight of our trip. The food was excellent, the atmosphere delightful and the concert extraordinary! Our waiter, Alex, took very good care our us and our table. We were in Salzburg at Christmas time and the entire restaurant was decorated for the season. Truly an enchanting evening!

Salzburg in the winter is a must. We enjoyed the Mozard Dinner Concert and hop on hop off city tour through the town.

My family was really looking forward to this tour. The confirmation/voucher provided details on the venue and they were not clear enough to us in order to find it. We called the local number on the voucher details however, no one answered and the person on the voice mail spoke German. I left a message in English, as I don't speak german and no one returned my phone call. While we were at the location specified - no one else was. Since we didn't get a call back, we missed the event. We were disappointed.

Food was good, concert was good, but service by our waiter was appalling. I cannot remember his name but he is from Nigeria. He was racist to me and my mother who have dark skin and was favouring caucasian people who came after us, welcoming them while ignoring us the whole time.

Not worth a penny of it. If you have the opportunity, go twice to the Concert at Mirabell Palace. The Mozart Dinner Concert consisted of an awful dinner, a group of average class musicians and singers all in traditional outfits. Their idea is to entertain rather than perform. Thumbs down

Perfect way to spend Christmas night. Very warm inside the restaurant so don’t overdress! Beautiful surroundings, beautiful food and beautiful music. Highly recommended.

THE CONCERT AND MEAL WAS FABULOUS. SETTING MAGICAL. HOWEVER BE VERY CAREFUL IF OFFERED THE WINE LIST. OUR FRIEND ASKED THE WAITER TO RECOMMEND THE WINE. WE EXPECTED TO PAY OVER THE ODDS. MAYBE 40 EUROS A BOTTLE. BILL CAME. WE WERE CHARGED 297 EUROS FOR TWO BOTTLES OF WATER AND TWO BOTTLES OF RED WINE. TOTAL TOTAL RIP OFF. SO SPOILED THE EVENING.

Totally touristy but a must. Dinner was very nice and elegant. I ordered wine which seemed difficult to order --- they're very busy --- but overall it's a nice experience. Loved the mini chrsitmas market outside the venue. And the performance is very nice.

We were disappointed in the food that was provided. The musical entertainment was nice. The decor was very pretty for the Christmas time.

Salzburg was very popular with our group. We were there for 3 days and enjoy many aspects of the city. This dinner allowed us to imagine Mozart's world. Candle light, music, and good food. Foodies may be critical of the food, but remember the objective here is to transport you back to Mozart's time, not just have a 5 star dining experience. My only suggestion would be to have Mozart's music playing throughout the meal. Piano or violin Concertos would have really set the mood.

Was a very enjoyable evening and the music and singing were very good. Hard to know which concert might be best since there are so many to pick from but this was a very nice venue and the setting was very nice. Dinner was ok but spread out over the duration of the concert so don't go hungry but it was a nice 2.5 hours.

Awesome awesome awesome...just fantastic, food was very nice, musicians were really good and location is beautiful. My only criticism is they should make an announcement before it starts asking people not to talk during the musical parts as it was off putting the table behind us talked the whole way through

Definitely over-rated and over-priced tour. Food is not eatable. The performance is average. _br/_ The only good thing was great staff, very friendly and helpful and definitely very kind.

My husband and I enjoyed this very much. It was a lovely way to spend the evening. The dinner was very good except for the soup. The music in between courses was also very good. The performers looked to be enjoying themselves as much as we enjoyed listening to them.

Overall the Mozart Dinner Concert was a very enjoyable experience. Several scenes from Don Giovanni were performed throughout the meal and the musicians and two singers were quite good. The venue was beautiful and we enjoyed the company at our table. The food was nothing exciting and the wine was overpriced but we didn't go to this event for the meal. Our waiter was a bit inexperienced spilling wine and water on pretty much everyone at the table but I noted that other wait staff didn't have the same issues. I would recommend going to this event. If it hadn't been for the waiter I would rate this a five star experience!

Loved our Mozart Dinner Concert, but finding it took a little work. The directions we got werent very good. We walked right through the courtyard, but never saw the entrance to the venu. Perhaps more lighting in that corner would help. Evening was very relaxing. Enjoyed the music and singing. Staff at venue were very nice, and ordered a cab for us for the ride back to our hotel.

Memorable evening in a beautiful baroque hall, part of reputedly the oldest restaurant complex in Europe. To be honest, we booked this mainly because we couldn't get places on the similar dinner in the Hohensalzburg fortress, but very glad that we did. Brilliant entertainment by hugely accomplished string quintet and opera singers, great service, good food - very good wines too, although to be frank rather on the expensive side. They're equally happy to serve just beers and cocktails etc. if that's what you prefer though. Definitely the highlight of our visit to Salzburg, and very much recommended not least because when we visited the fortress the following day, it became clear that their Mozart dinners are in the restaurant at the top of the funicular, not in the fortress itself.

Good food! Good Music! However the restaurant makes up for the fair price by marking up the drinks a lot! 3x on most wine.

Review by:   Ronald A L,    September 2017 Review: 4 star rating: Recommended
The venue was beautiful...the candlelight and decor fit wonderfully with the Mozart concert theme. The 3-course meal was tasty and better than we expected based on some of the reviews. The concert itself was very enjoyable. A five-piece string ensemble and two opera singers performed three-20 minute sessions and were very entertaining. These sessions were interspersed among the 3 dinner courses. We had two issues. The first was the price of the wine. There wasn't a reasonable range of prices. Starting at 65 a bottle, with a high end of 4100, is totally ridiculous for this kind of venue. A glass of wine started at 14-16. Water for a 750 ml bottle was 6,60...to give an idea of the pricing. The second issue related to seating. People who were sitting with their backs to the stage for dinner had difficulty turning their chairs to see the performance. Otherwise, a very enjoyable evening.

Great experience, the drinks are a bit pricey, the soup starter like dish water with a film of greece on but the rest of the meal although small was lovely and I highly recommend the experience. The hall is magnificent the players superb and singers excellent so go and enjoy the evening. I would certainly go again just have one drink and make it a long one to last all evening.

A good concert, but led to believe we had to dress appropriately so took clothes to suit, but others arrived in a pretty casual state. _br/_ Directions on where to find the location could be better. We roamed around a fair bit trying to find it. Dinner was okay without being great. Overall a good experience and is recommended.

Although we are not huge fans of classical music, we thought it we would give it a try. So glad we did. The dining room was beautiful. The food was excellent! The performers were magnificent - really kept the audience involved and having fun! For non Mozart fans, it was surprising how much of the music we actually knew. It was a great evening!

We really enjoyed this. The room was grand, the dinner was good although portions not huge and the musicians and singers were good, so it was all enjoyable. The restaurant where this concert takes place is the oldest in Salzburg and very attractive.

The music and atmosphere was fantastic. The reason for a 1 star review. We were made to pay for our drinks and while that was said on the voucher I didn't think that meant I couldn't even get a glass of water. Nothing to drink is included. The two glasses of flat water we received cost us 30 euro. It made a wonderful dining experience regrettable. I wanted to warn others.

After a long day of exploring the touristy areas of Salzburg, we were looking forward to a evening of classical music and fine dining. We were not disappointed in either. The atmosphere was in keeping with the good food and outstanding Mozart concert. If we're ever in Salzburg again, we will definitely plan on a repeat performance!

The Baroque Hall inside St. Peter's restaurant was beautiful. You can also visit the original restaurant before dinner - it appears to be carved out of the side of the mountain. It was quite loud with conversation while the dinner was served, because there were many guests - probably about 15 tables of 8. The musicians and the opera singers were first rate. Try to arrive a bit before 6:30 so you can choose your table - it is open seating.

If you love operatic or classical music and if you are a Mozart enthusiast, you have to book this Concert, if you plan to visit Salzburg. What a great performance, and the food was very good as well. I'm so happy we booked on Viatour Web site. Happy travels, Adam K

This was a really memorable eventing. The surroundings were magnificent and the musicians and singers were of a very high standard. Their performances of the singers in particular were very entertaining._br/_ One small point, however, it would have been nice to have settled the bills a little earlier so that the evening ended on a musical note, rather than the slight anti-climax of staff collecting money!

The dinner was something I wasn't used to, but the opera singers were fantastic! I loved their chemistry on stage and how they played with the audience. It was definitely unforgettable.
