Our guide was excellent although I was a little disappointed in that there wasn't enough Civil War history on this tour but it might have been because there isn't really that much actual Civil War history in Savannah. The City is full of history of pirates, various occupations and slavery that the Civil War becomes a small part of what has actually taken place in Savannah. This was my first time to Savannah. I like history and got an excellent tour guide that was very knowledgeable! We toured all over the historic district and I enjoyed the level of historic knowledge, professionalism and humor of our tour guide. I highly recommend this tour.

Brad was terrific. He knew his stuff. Favorite visit was to the Pink House._br/_ Only complaint that I have is The Savannah Walks does not get back to you. I made 6 calls and left messages before anyone contacted me while I was there in Savannah. Someone must work these phones more diligently.

Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable but we had taken an historical walking tour a couple of days prior and the locations and topics on both tours were almost identical so it was a bit redundant for me. I would recommend doing one or the other. Also, calling it a Civil War tour is a bit of a stretch, just some mentions of General Sherman and how he related to the locations we visited.

I booked this tour for my husband, a history major and fan of Civil War sites. The tour was Friday, February 24, 2017 at 1:00. It was not a Civil War tour. My husband said that the tour guide even told him that it wasn't really a CW tour and husband said that the CW was hardly mentioned. Even though the tour was a good one, it was in no way what it was advertised to be. Not a lot of money wasted but the false advertising is unexcusable.

our tour was supposedly to be a civil war tour, and yet our guide Lance was obviously more interested in telling about movie facts shot in Savannah, and equally about ghost stories. While we heard somewhat about the civil war, our overwhelming feeling was that we were not given a tour that we had signed up for and paid for. Additionally, our guide had no visible sign of being part of your company, and so we were a little worried about how we would identify our guide. All in all, a very unsatisfactory experience.

This tour quide was very, very poor. He was disorganized, wanderedef to different topics, made some inappropriate comments to the other couple with us and made several incorrect statements on various issues, Based on this experience we will be very hesitant to use your service again.

First, our guide was fifteen minutes late. This isn't a big deal to us as the tour lasted fifteen minutes longer but it may be a pet-peeve for some people. There were only four of us on the walking tour. My wife and I, and another couple. The guide seemed to only give the tour to the other couple as he never made eye contact with us or bothered to ask us how we were doing. These are things he did with the other couple. As if this wasn't bad enough he walked against two red lights. We followed him the first time as it was a small street and there were no vehicles coming. But the second time it happened he crossed a major street. It was at this point that our suspicions of being ignored were confirmed as he didn't look back to see if we were there. He just walked on, talking to the other couple. The only reason he stopped was because it was part of the tour. When we caught up to him all he could do was ask us why we didn't cross the street. I told him the light was red. He said around here they the cars have to stop for pedestrians no matter what. Sorry, but growing up in a major city taught me to look both ways before crossing the street and to stop walking if the light was red. In Los Angeles we call crossing a street with a red light jay walking and the drivers aren't held accountable for hitting jay walkers. I doubt Savannah is different. I just think we got an inconsiderate guide. Lastly, his story telling ability was mediocre at best. That is, when I actually heard the story as he never seemed to want to face my wife and I to tell us the stories so it was hard to hear him. All of this being said I do not recommend this tour to others. There are many options available in the way of walking tours of Savannah. Next time we'll be taking on of those and I recommend you do as well. Savannah is too beautiful a city to have any part of your visit ruined by a guide as inconsiderate as ours was.

We had a very enjoyable walking tour with Brad our tour guide- he was very articulate and knowledgeable about the city of Savannah and its role in the civil war. He must be something of an expert on General Sherman and the connections and influence the General had in Savannah. a wonderful tour!

Our tour guy was very nice and knowledgeable. However there wasn't that much to know about the Civil War In Savannah so this walking tour was somewhat irrelevant at the very least or could have been condensed considerably, in my opinion.

I actually was not the person travelling to Savannah. I sent my parents away and they absolutely loved everything about the trip. My dad is a true historian with an immeasurable I.Q....not kidding...and he was pleased with the tour and found it informative.

Never happened. The tour guides never showed up. I contacted the tour and they said they would credit my account and offered me a complimentary ghost tour. Still have not been credited for the civil war tour. I talked with others on a different tour and there guide never showed up. I was told there were no scheduled tours on sunday the 10th.

Great tour - since I was the only one who booked for this time slot, I basically had a private tour. 90 minutes but with times to rest here and there. Tour guide Phillip was great! Extremely knowledgeable about the area and the history. Thoroughly enjoyable tour.

Phil was a great guide. Very informative and always able to answer questions. He seemed to have a very balanced view of the Civil War and how it affected both the North and South. I only gave it 4 stars because his voice could get monotone at times. I still was able to pay attention 95 of the time and my wife stayed engage the entire time.

Very informative and interesting if you are in to history and the military. John was our guide and he was very knowledgable. The guys did this tour and the girls did the house tour, same company though the house tour was done by Brad. So glad we split up!!

Interesting but very little emphasis on the Civil War. Forrest Gump belongs in the general city tour, not this one. The only references to the war was where Sherman stayed while in Savannah, and a map of 1860 Savannah hanging in a restaurant.

It turned out that I and my wife were the only two on the tour, but I think it made it more personal. We both really enjoyed the tour/guide. He was very intelligent about the history in svannah, and he was courteous. He stopped to speak in certain areas making sure there were benches available. He also gave us some restaurant reviews which the restaurants he recommended were great. He then ended the tour where we wanted to for our next excursion. The only complaint I have is that in the email confirming our tour it told us the square, but there was no description of the tour guide or contact information connecting to a person automated Other than that, the tour was amazing.
