With your culinary guide, an expert in local Korean food and culture, stop at three different restaurants and food stalls, as well as a shijang (traditional Korean flea market), along Nagwon-dong and Jongno-gu. This is a must do tour for anyone new to South Korea. We did it a week in but recommend doing it as soon as possible to your arrival as it helps you to become familiar with Korean food and even the culture. The places we went were local and the food was made on site at each place meaning nothing store bought and house recipes were used. I'm a very picky eater and yet I ate everything on this tour and it was all delicious. _br/_ Our guide Brad was a very informative, knowledgeable and friendly host that made the night fun. We really enjoyed the casual vibe and ease of the tour as well as the other tour guests. You won't regret doing this tour.

This tour was a bit lackluster. Our guide marched very briskly to each restaurant without even checking to see if the whole group was keeping up. At each restaurant, the guide would say a few sentences about the food we were eating and then disappear to play on her phone while we ate. There was very little explanation given about each kind of food we ate at each different restaurant. The last stop was a tea house were we had a tea that they asked us to share with one person. I do not think the tour was worth its cost, aside from being led to each restaurant and not having to search for them by myself.

Complete waste of money.... I was told to meet at their building at 5:45 and when I got there nobody was there and the building was dark. I waited 10 minutes and was getting ready to leave and she showed up. She basically dumped us off at 5 or so places, never explained anything and walked so fast and so far in front of us there was no way for her to know if we were behind her or not. Skip it.

Our guide, Dayeun (she went by Da), was very friendly and informative. Our tour group was small, just 5 of us, and we had a wonderful time exploring. All the stops were great, and the food was delicious. If there is ever an advanced tour, more of the small food stands would be awesome. Great tour!

JS was an excellent tour guide. We were a slightly larger group 11 total because we added 1 extra person according to him but he made sure everyone felt welcome and not left out. Our tour consisted of 3 groups: our group Filipinos with an American and a German with originally 6 people, that turned into 7, a group of 2 Taiwanese and German from Taiwan, and another group of 1 Hawaiian from LA. We were all talking to each other and learning about our divergent backgrounds by the 1st restaurant. What a great way to meet new people, over food and drinks.

We booked this trip as a result of researching things to do in Seoul before our city visit for the first time. We had a fabulous time, our guide 'K' was polite and knowledgeable. 4 other British people were on the trip so we had a nice size group and everyone was there to have fun. K chose 4 different restaurants for us to visit with 4 very different types of food and alcohol. All within walking distance in places that you would only go if someone like K took you. The food was fabulous and surprising. This is a must do trip on your first night in Seoul. If we went back, we would do it again. Thank you K

This was a fantastic tour, taking in many different types of food - Korean barbecue, different types of fried chicken including the most garlic-laden dish I had ever encountered!, some excellent rice bowl dishes, mung bean pancakes, marinated raw beef. An absolute feast for the senses, smell and sight as well as taste. The Kwang Jang night market was an incredible place to finish the trip, buzzing with life and colour. The group, of half a dozen, was just the right size for this kind of tour. Strongly recommended.

Despite raving reviews, i found the tour very disappointing.. Our guide (forgot her name) didn and #39;t explain anything, she only talked when she was asked questions. In the okay-ish restaurants, she played with her phone. After 3 (not 4!) hours we were left outside a subway station.. No value for money!

Food was great and Ms. Heiwon gave us a thorough overview of each dish we ate. First, we went to a bulgogi place. Next, we tried toppoki (hot and spicy rice cake) soup and Korean fried chicken. We finished up with red bean shaved ice and tea. This food tour is great to try if you want trad. food.

There are some good things in this tour. The small size of the group helped the guide talk to each of us. So he taught us a lot of things about traditional food, about Korean habits, history and culture. The gain was that we've seen restaurants in which I would never trust to eat yes, they didn't look trustful but the food was clean and good. In fact, that was what I looked for: how, where and what average Koreans eat. And I got the answer. I recommend it!

What a fun experience! We benefited from the low-season winter date in that the group was small 3 people plus our guide and therefore received the guide's full attention and explanations. Korean BBQ, toppoki, very-garlicky chicken - Korean street food at it's best, most cooked in front of your eyes, and a tour of a very busy local food market. Do this tour. You won't regret it.

Our tour guide JS was great - funny, knowledge and spoke perfect English. The tour itself was great - basically 4 full meals with drinks! The stops were all at restaurants that I would have had a hard time finding myself which was great - got to see parts of Seoul that weren't packed with tourists. The food was absolutely delicious. I would do this tour again and highly recommend!

Good experience to get to know the way how to eat different meals. But our guide wasn't so experienced, not even interested or liked Korean food, so that was really sad.He even told that he would not care what comments we give.. We would go to a market place, but never did. He asked what we want, desert or what.How could we know what to expect? It was a disaster, this desert. He lived in US, just to get some money from Korea. We did taste different foods, but telling history of everything was lacking. And his way of Brooklyn lousy dressing/walking. More professional touch to get to know Korean food.

If you only had time to do one thing in Seoul, you should do this food tour. Our group had a blast as we enjoyed many different restaurants while walking through interesting and historic back alleys. In terms of the food, we enjoyed traditional barbecue, rice cakes, chicken and beer, and shaved ice. All the food tasted great and were accompanied by plenty of alcohol and games.

Sun was a great host, we had a real gastronomic adventure. What I loved was that we went to places like the tent bar that were frequented by locals, and we wouldn't have gone there or known how to find it! on our own. We learnt about Korean drinking games and culture and I have been able to take those fun games back home and share a bit of Korean culture with my friends. I asked a lot of questions about the food and Korea in general and Sun was very keen to tell me more. It was a lot of fun and I would recommend this to anyone who loves Korean food as much as I do!

Went on the tour with Ted. He is quiet but very friendly and knows what he is talking about. He gave lots of great tips for us to use the rest of our stay. The food on the tour was delicious. My favorite was the Korean BBQ but we also had some delicious fried chicken, tteokbokki and Korean pancakes. The drink selection was at each restaurant was delicious as well!

This tour is amazing. The guide is extremely knowledgeable and friendly and all of the food is delicious. After the last stop on the tour our guide went out of his way to show us a nearby market which wasn't 'included' with the tour and was totally out of the kindness of his heart. After we finished he helped one of our group hail a taxi, helped the rest of us find a subway and when one of our tour members dropped her glasses in the rain he had her wait under an alcove while HE went to go find them for her which he did!. 10/10 I highly recommend this tour to anyone considering it, it was easily one of the best parts of my entire trip and the tour guide is a really awesome guy.
