Private Monumental Seville Walking Tour

Seville, Spain

Discover Seville’s most spectacular monuments — Seville Cathedral, the Giralda tower and the Royal Alcazar — on this intimate 3-hour walking tour with a private guide. Stand in awe of the world’s largest cathedral, containing the tomb of Christopher Columbus, and admire the jaw-dropping Moorish architecture of the Royal Alcazar, today the palace of Spanish kings. End with a picturesque walk through Santa Cruz, Seville’s whitewashed, cobblestoned Jewish quarter. Enjoy personalized attention and informative commentary from your knowledgable guide.

Meet your private guide under the Giralda tower of Seville Cathedral to begin your 3-hour morning or afternoon tour. This bell tower was an Arabic minaret of the mosque that stood on the site under Muslim rule, and was built to resemble the minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque in Marrakech, Morocco. It was converted into a bell tower for the cathedral after the Reconquista of 1248, and today this magnificent structure is a symbol of Seville, dominating the city skyline.
Prepare to be amazed as you step inside sky-scraping Seville Cathedral (Catedral de Sevilla), a UNESCO World Heritage site. The church was built to demonstrate the city's wealth after becoming a major trading center in the years after the Reconquista. Today it remains the largest cathedral in the world.
Learn about the cathedral’s history and construction and admire biblical artworks, sculptures and the altarpiece — the lifetime work of a single craftsman, Pierre Dancart. Look up at the lavishly gilded central nave, rising a dizzying 138 feet (42 meters), and pause at the tomb of Christopher Columbus to discover why he is buried here. Exit through the outdoor courtyard blossoming with bright orange trees — the symbol of Seville.
Make your way next to the Royal Alcazar, Seville’s crown jewel and another UNESCO World Heritage site. Originally a Moorish fortress, the Royal Alcazar was an Arabic palace in the 14th century and today serves as the residence of the Spanish kings. It is the oldest still-inhabited royal palace in the world.
See why many consider this Spain's most beautiful palace on a guided walking tour. The Moorish architecture and décor are breathtaking, not to mention the extensive gardens surrounding the palace.
End your tour with a pleasant stroll through Santa Cruz, Seville's historical Jewish quarter. With narrow cobbled streets winding among white-washed buildings, this is inarguably the most picturesque area of the city. Chat with your guide and ask any questions you have about Seville before ending your 3-hour tour here.

We had a wonderful experience on this private tour of Allcazar and the old Jewish quarters. Our guide, Estella was excellent. She was very knowledgeable about the history of this whole area. She gave us many interesting historic facts as well as human interest antidotes about the area going back to the Moors and Muslim influence. She also gave us a lot of background on the history of Spain and the relationship between the Catholic Church, the Jews and Muslims over the centuries..The castle complex was beautiful and the 12th century architecture amazing. We left her feeling as though we 'd learned so much and made a new friend.

We booked this tour when we read the good reviews of Antonio. However, we were not guided by Antonio but his colleague. It was not professional as we were not informed beforehand that the guide would not be him! The tour was a disappointment. Her English was limited and it only lasted 2 hours!

A private tour of Seville's monuments is highly recommended if you really want to learn the history of each site. Our tour guide was exceptional and I highly recommend her.

With took this tour on July 2, 2017. Our scheduled tour guide was sick, but Peppy filled in for him. Peppy was a great tour guide. He shared wonderful information with us and made sure to keep the pace at a level we were comfortable with. We learned so much more then we ever would have on our own or on a large tour.

Review by:   Courtney B,    July 2017 Review: 1 star rating: I do not recommend this
The instructions on the tour said to contact the tour guide, which I did within 24 hours of my tour and I did not get any answer. On the day of my tour, Antonio was nowhere to be found and I messaged him repeatedly and he did not respond. Calling the second phone number I was given finally worked and Antonio said that he was not going to be my guide for the day and he sent in a female coworker instead. Aside from her name, I had no idea as to who I was looking for and we eventually found each other at our original meeting point after much confusion. Despite being a student, I still had to pay for admission into the cathedral and the gardens, which should really be included in the cost for the tour. The commentary was very limited and the guide was not able to answer many of my questions, either due to a lack of knowledge or English speaking skills, it was hard to discern. The only value was being able to skip the lines, which were not long to begin with. Overall, this tour was not worth the price. I was very disappointed and would not recommend spending even half the money on a tour of such low quality and disorganization.

Given that we were pressed for time in Sevilla, this was a great half day walking tour of the central historic highlights of the city especially the Royal Alcazar and Jewish Quarter provided by our very knowledgeable and personable guide, Carlos Rodriguez Silva. Unfortunately but not due to any fault on the part of Carlos the main Cathedral and Giralda Bell Tower were unexpectedly closed when we wanted to visit them but Carlos did a great job of substituting a visit for us to the Church of the Saviour Sevilla's second largest church. Highly recommend this tour with Carlos if you have limited time in Sevilla.

This was an amazing tour! Our guide was waiting for us and we spent several hours learning about Seville and its most important sights. We had our 22 and 19 year old kids with us and we were all thoroughly satisfied. Highly recommend!

Three of us took this tour with Antonio and we loved it! He is extremely knowledgeable and engaging important for my husband and son and explained so much about the history, culture and sites of Seville in an interesting and entertaining way. The pace was perfect and he sent us to a great tapas bar for lunch. He took us to see exactly what we were expecting to see. We highly recommend this tour with Antonio! Oh, and his English is perfect!

This tour was worth every penny! Our guide, Raquel, was SO good! She spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable and professional - her father grew up in the Barrio de Santa Cruz. She also took pictures of us when we asked and provided us with a great late night cocktail recommendation - Hotel EME - which has an incredible view of the Giralda Tower.

On the whole it was a good tour. I had specifically booked Antonio as the reviews said he had good English but on the morning of the tour a lady turned up in his place and while she was lovely and very knowledgeable she did have a heavy accent and was difficult to understand at times.

Our Private walking tour with Antonio was fabulous! A real hi-light of our trip to Spain. Antonio was knowledgeable and entertaining. We had skip-the-line visits at the Royal Alcazar and the Cathedral Santa Maria and a lot of fun walking around the Santa Cruz area. Seville was wonderful and I would highly recommend the city, this tour and Antonio!

The instructions on the tour said to contact the tour guide, which i did on multiple occasions - no answer. I was there 15 minutes ahead of schedule as requested by the instructions, and the guide showed up right at the assigned time. You still have to pay for admission into the cathedral and the gardens. The commentary was okay, and the biggest value was being able to skip the lines - which actually weren't that bad. Overall, didn't think it was worth the price

This tour was wonderful. It turned out that there were just two of us on the tour and our tour guide was able to give us a lot of additional detail about the locations we were visiting that related to our specific interest and questions. Rachel was very personable and incredibly knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this tour.

We will perhaps go back to Seville again just because our guide succeeded in making us fall in love with the city! He was a treasure-chest of information and he paced us very well through the tour. Walk through the Jewish quarters was fascinating and so was the time spent inside the cathedral.

We totally enjoyed this tour and would happily recommend it to anyone. Our guide, Antonio was extremely knowledgable as to the history, context and politics of the venues we visited. Without knowing a lot about Spanish history, the tour gave us far greater insight than a large group tours.

The Tour was very informative but was turned out to be quite expensive as the tour charges do not include entry into the Alcazar palace which I thought was included _br/_ Takes about 3 hours and really enjoyed it.

This was by far the best tour of the three while in Sevilla, Cordova and Granada. The Alcazar and its gardens are AMAZING. So much better than the one in Cordova. Our tour guide Antonio was great and had great insight to Sevilla. I highly recommend this private walking tour.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and a private tour is definitely the way to see these great spots. I especially liked the walk through the Jewish quarter. We took many different tours during our 2-week vacation through Spain and Portugal and this tour was pricey and didn't include entrance fees.
