Ronda Day Trip from Seville: Wine Tasting, Bullfighting Ring and Optional Pueblos Blancos Tour

Seville, Spain

Take a day trip from Seville to explore the ancient city of Ronda, where you’ll enjoy tasting local wines and explore Plaza de Toros, a traditional bullfighting ring. See several important monuments, churches and bridges and admire views of El Tajo River gorge. Upgrade your tour to include a visit to Pueblos Blancos, a picturesque area filled with white-washed houses. Here, visit Sierra de Grazalema, the first natural park in Andalusia.

You’ll be picked up from central Seville or your Seville hotel in the morning and taken on a comfortable drive to Ronda, one of the oldest towns in Spain. When you arrive, take a stroll through the 19th-century gardens in Alameda del Tajo and soak in the wonderful views.

Visit Plaza de Toros, a traditional Spanish bullring made of stone. Behind the stage, learn about the history of bullfighting from your guide and head to the center of the ring to snap some awesome photos.

Continue to several beautiful bridges including the New Bridge, a symbol of the city that connects Ronda´s old and new districts. Enjoy great views of the vast El Tajo River gorge below. Next, visit one of Ronda’s most significant monuments, the beautiful San Juan Bosco House, a palace that fuses modern and colonial styles and boasts amazing views of the valley.

Head to the city’s historic center to visit the Church of Santa Mari and witness the mix of Christian, Arab, Gothic and Renaissance architecture. Then, immerse yourself in Spanish wine culture with a tour of the Wine Museum of Ronda. Learn about Ronda’s long history of wine making and then head to the Sangre de Ronda winery to taste some great local wines. Afterward, enjoy free time to explore Ronda on your own before returning to Seville.

Upgrade: Pueblos Blancos Tour
After Ronda, head to picturesque Pueblos Blancos, a series of towns and large villages in the northern part of the provinces of Cadiz and Malaga.

Learn from your guide about the origin of this area, whose name, meaning ‘white houses,’ comes from the custom popular among the local inhabitants of whitewashing the outside of their houses and decorating them with brightly colored potted flowers. Combined with the blue sky and the plethora of mountain peaks and green hilltops, Pueblos Blancos creates an explosion of eye-catching color.

Visit Sierra de Grazalema, the first natural park in Andalusia brimming with diverse flora and fauna. See why the park is famous for its spectacularly rugged limestone landscape of cliffs, gullies, caves and gorges.

Awesome trip with two fun, experienced and friendly guides. The place is stunning and the wine is very fine xD. Whole day was unforgettable experience although I wish we had a bit more free time for exploring, one hour is hardly enough!

Tour guide Peter (with Naturanda) was accommodating and friendly. Title of this tour is misinforming. Actual tour is 4 hours for white villages and 2 hours in Ronda. If you want more time in Ronda, I recommend going there yourself. Bull ring and wine tasting not worth the extra money.

Bus arrived on time, group is small 14-16, excellent guide, beautiful scenery. Wine tasting is not great but otherwise this is a very worthwhile day. Historic bull ring interesting. Also liked superb tour of the city of Ronda -- this and the visit to the Pueblos Blancos were highlights. By the way, do NOT pay extra for the Pueblos Blancos Tour because there's only one bus, only one tour and you DO go to the Pueblos Blancos whether you pay for it or not. And it's very worthwhile. All in all, a very good value. Bring your camera!

Our main guide Petra and Ronda-specific guide Pedro were both fantastic in terms of organisation, professionalism and interesting information on the places that we visited on the tour. The house that we visited in Ronda with views of the valley and Nuevo bridge was a perfect choice and provided great photos without the crowds. Both speak very good English for anyone concerned about this. Pedro in particular had many deep insights into the Ronda and Spanish culture so our entire tour group was scuttling along with him to catch every word spoken.

Tour was reasonable however I would have liked to spend more time in Ronda as we did not get to see all the sights we had planned on seeing. Perhaps the Pueblos Blancos Tour should have been a separate one to allow more time in Ronda.

Due to a local race event wasn't able to tour Pueblos Blancos, but rest of tour was well worth it. Guide and driver taking us to Ronda were great and having a local guide from Ronda area provided great history of the area.

AMAZING!!! what a great trip. Our tour guide on the bus was Petra. She was very friendly, very informative. Once in Ronda our guide was Pedro. A book of knowledge very friendly even shared a beer with him after the tour was over. All in all my favorite tour.

This tour company will put you into a completely different tour if they overbook. Unfortunately, this happened to me after paying almost 200. They put me in the cheap version of this tour cutting out everything I had paid for. The wine tasting, entrance tickets, tour guides, hotel pickup- everything I had paid extra for. To top it off they assumed I would not notice. What upset me the most was how they reacted at the end when I told them they had placed me in the wrong tour. The guides were so rude and made me feel like it was MY fault. I exclaimed that by checking my e-voucher in the morning I automatically assumed I was in the right place. Naturally, as the day went on I kept thinking everything I paid for would be on next stop- so I waited and waited until we made it back to the drop off point. Of course, when I asked for a refund they refused and proceeded to ignore all of my emails. I had to make a complaint with viator to get my money back. I wanted to trust the reviews but please be careful with companies like these who are only in it for the money. I truly hope this company will review this feedback to prevent another situation like this from happening. They had even ignored my emails before the tour which could have easily prevented the entire mishap. Dealing with such an unorganized and unprofessional tour company is just not worth it. There are way better tour companies in Seville.

This was a great way to get out into the country-side and experience the Spanish hill town of Ronda. Transport to and from Sevilla was well organized in a modern new mini-bus with our guide Paolo and our walking tour once in Ronda was well run and very informative with local guide Velma. We had just the right amount of free time to have a great lunch on our own overlooking the famous gorge in Ronda before heading back to Sevilla. A day very well spent!! Highly recommended.

Great tour to the lovely Ronda, our tour guide was Petra, who was very friendly and bubbly. only question mark on this tour was the optional Pueblos Blancos Tour, although we paid extra for this and it was supposed to be at the end of the main tour, we went here before going to Ronda, and everyone on the coach went to the village, whether they paid extra or not? mystery what the extra fee was for? When we arrived in Ronda we was met by Pedro, who was the local guide, and was excellent.we had an interesting afternoon visiting the Bullring and bridge over the gorge, amazing views. Highly recommended, just don't book the Pueblos tour!

I feel that we are rushing throughout the trip. We feel like we are the little ducklings following the Mother duck guide. We stayed less than an hour at the white village. we're given only 20mins for either breakfast or explore place.

We really enjoyed this trip. Our guide was most helpful. The bullfighting history was fascinating and of course the gorge is quite impressive.

The destination Ronda is very beautiful, we love it so much._br/_ About the tour, Pueblos Blancos is actually part of this day trip, so no need to pay extra!_br/_ Too short time in Ronda, it would be much better to stay a bit more longer maybe 1hr longer

On time to pick up from designated spot, not a hotel pickup. the bilingual guide on the bus spoke more spanglish than english, which was ok for the Spanish travellers but not so good for the rest of us. Plus the bus guide took off offering no suggestions for Pueblos Blancos, such as to where to get coffee, something to eat, toilets._br/_ At Ronda, again he walked really fast and it was challenging to keep up with him. The guide at Ronda was knowledgable of the area but packed a lot into a 2.5 hour walking tour of the city. At the end there was a 45 minute break to get something to eat, which sound like a lot but by the time you walk to the meeting point it is more like 30 minutes. _br/_ Suggestions: make sure you have breakfast, pack a lunch, don't expect to have time to relax and enjoy Ronda - it is only a very quick overview to know if you want to come back or not.

The tour was very short to my expectation - lasted for only 8 hours instead of the 11 hoursThe White hills tour was good but the Ronda trip was not worth the money. A lot of time was spent in the bull ring and the tour guide seemed to enjoy the way Bulls were killed. Not worth the money.

Great trip, good location, walking tour was interesting and we ended with a 'wine flight' before lunch. Good way to get to visit the city from Seville, but you could easily spend a few days here. _br/_ Guide was knowledgeable and it was a small group tour which was good option.

This was a very good tour. The unscheduled stop in Zahara was particularly agreeable and the tour guide in Ronda itself was superb. _br/_ The tour office in Seville is not impressive. I sent them 5 emails in advance of the tour and never received a response to any of them. I visited the office in person and was given conflicting information.

Joining this tour made everything really easy, from figuring out where to meet in the morning to actually getting to Ronda. Even though we ran into many obstacles along the way with road closures due to the 101km bike tour going through, we ended up still going to all the sights we were supposed to, albeit in different order.

Great day out! Long tour but stopped for breakfast of churros on the way not included in price. Zahra was lovely. _br/_ Great day, with good tour around the town and visit tot he Bull ring I'm not sure about Bull Fighting but to see the museum and to learn about this huge part of the culture was a great expereince. Not sure I'll book to watch a bull fight in the future though. _br/_ Our Guide Ramon was really nice and informative and looked after the group well. _br/_ Ronda is a lovely place and the views are stunning. A busy town though, so I was glad I went with a small group to make the visit easier to navigate.

I did not get my wine tasting or visit to the wine museum._br/_ The trip lasted for 13 hours._br/_ They took me to Pueblos Blancos which I had not paid for nor was I interested in._br/_ On the day of, it turns out that the tour was not even handled by the Viator liaison/agency in Seville, but instead a different company that they further contracted out to - changing hands three times.

Beautiful place! We enjoyed everything except the bullring tour. We went to one the previous day, and I find act of bullfighting atrocious, so I didn't want to experience the validation of this so called sport again. So we hung around in the facing plaza until that was done. The rest was great, amazing views, stunning really.

The tour was great. The most spectacular bridge although, to get a truly representative photo, there is a steep trail to follow and the tour only allowed 20 minutes for personal time so it was either lunch or the photo obviously, it was the photo!. If fewer facts had been shared by the tour guide, a more generous personal time allocation would have been possible.

The pueblos blancos section of the tour was a bit disappointing in that little historical information was provided. However, I enjoyed the walk up into the township. Warning though to others - you need to be pretty fit as it is quite a steep climb. The local guide in Ronda was very knowledgable and informative, despite his rather abrupt manner. This didn't detract from the tour and I enjoyed his commentary. It would have been great to have had more time in the bullring museum as we raced through there - perhaps a re- entry ticket for the free time later in the afternoon. The view from the bridge is wonderful. Worth doing.

This tour was good , we were only four in a comfortable van and the drive wasn't to long, the driver was good who gave us a short tour in Pueblos Blanco, after the tour we then continue and meet by the local guide in Ronda. After the tour around the city and the Bullring we went for wine tasting. We had about an hour of free time to have lunch and spend by ourselves before going back to Seville. We took two tours with Andalsur and both enjoyed the tours and would be happy to recommend this tours company.

THIS IS A BILINGUAL REVIEW -- ENGLISH FIRST, THEN SPANISH:_br/_ FANTASTIC!!! EXCELLENT!! We had Alicia as our guide and Juan Jose as our driver, from Andalsur and we couldn't have been more pleased with this tour. There's alot to cover but Alicia was not only knowledgeable, but had a warm personality. She actually had us singing on the bus!!! Our guide in Ronda was equally knowledgeable and was fantastic. We wish more guides were like them. The Pueblo Blanco we visited was Zahara de la Sierra and speechless is how you are left with the views!! This tour is a MUST for those who want to see Ronda...which we highly recommend as you cover some of the MAIN sites. After going on this tour and seeing what Ronda has to offer, we decided that next time around, we will spend a full day there or even make two trips...next time we are in Malaga. Our thanks to Alicia and Juan Jose for a wonderful day...you really made our trip to Ronda special.

This trip was not worth it we spent only 40 minutes in Ronda and did not visit the bull ring or the wine tasting . Very very disappointed. Instead we visited some out of the way free entry crumbling fort that was built to guard a water supply and the guides mates olive oil shop! Really not what was booked!,,

Ronda is an exceptional lovely town. Wish we had more time there. Our first stop on the way was for an hour in a small village, this could be shorten by half an hour to spend more time in Ronda. The Ronda tour guide was fantastic. Our guide from Seville , Julia is a lovely caring person who we all liked. Next time have an iternary for the guests. Highly recommended. Well done Julia. Our tour guide Carlos was super!! He was extremely knowledgeable about everything he showed us.This tour delivered so much more than was advertised . From an old castle in the middle of no where, the white villages Zahara and Graselema that I didn't expect to see .. also a small olive oil producer where we got to see how the oil was extracted.Carlos also directed us to the best place to eat in Graselema , that had the best gaspachio I've ever had !!! The tour of Ronda was great ,,as it was on my bucket list I was so happy to have such a wonderful guide to walk us through it. This tour really gives you bang for your buck.Did this tour May 7th so the weather was perfect .
