The Bund is the cultural section of Shanghai that best represents the blending of ancient and modern influences. This renowned waterfront district is the city's most famous landmark. The word Bund is of Anglo-Indian origin meaning 'embankment on the waterfront', and you'll experience the definition literally with a feeling of space and openness that you won't find anywhere else in Shanghai.
Your guided evening tour of Shanghai starts with an evening cruise on the Huangpu River, which divides the Bund into two sections, Pu Dong and Pu Xi, which mean 'east of river' and 'west of river' respectively. Local people honor the Huangpu as Mother River, and as you view the lights and spectacle from the deck of your evening cruise, you will understand why.
After the cruise, we will enjoy a walk along the Bund on our way to the historically famous Peace Hotel, which served as the center of Shanghai's nightlife in the 1920's and 30's. Then we will take a trolley tour to enjoy the magnificent night view of Nanjing Road.

Bad experience. starting with the bad coordination in the schedule for the pick up at the hotel, the tour included a trip by train of tourism in nanjing and the visit to the lobby of the Peace Hotel, really waste of time. We had to wait 40 minutes for our tour on the river, which could have been avoided if we had arrived earlier to the dock or at least bought the tickets in advance. the guide Frank always walked like 5 meters before us very hurried without considering the participants. During the 40 minute wait he could have taken the opportunity to explain something about the city but he left us alone in the waiting room. We were called to get to the line very late and were placed in the middle of the boat, without the option of having a better view unless paying a VIP pass. I do not recommend the tour. It is preferable to take the metro or taxi and get there and take pictures of the lights from The Bund.

This tour was unfortunately affected by the national public holiday, which meant we missed our first boat and had to wait 40 minutes for the next. This tour was still a highlight of our Shanghai visit.

Tom was a great guide that kept us all together and told us about Shanghai on our way to the boat dock. For those traveling on business that have an evening free, this is a great little trip to see the Bund and Pudong area of Shanghai by boat.

A good tour although not the best. We were not lucky because of the rain pouring down while doing the boat trip. The rain also prevented us from making the stroll alongside the river enjoying the view and the well lit Pudong area. The tram was not fascinating and our guide behaved more like a coordinator than a guide. In the end we were unloaded from the minivan in front of some hotel not ours and we spent good 20-30 min waiting in the cold weather for our guide to find a taxi to bring us back to our hotel which was very disappointing. If I have to do the boat trip I would definitely go with a private option, but the boat ride and night views have to be seen while in Shanghai, just pick a private tour.

The lights of Shanghai are fabulous. We found the tour a bit disjointed. On the boat our group dispersed all over the place so the guide was having to find each group to talk to us. We then went to Nanjing Road for a ride on a funny little train - all seemed a bit haphazard and we were not well informed on what was happening next. Our thoughts were that this tour was overpriced for what was provided.

This felt like half a tour, they drop you off at the boat on the Bund and then you do a walk back through the city, that's about it.

The tour guide doesn't ride the boat with you and then takes you on a lil train ride in town (which you can do on your own. Take a cab to Bundi and get your tickets at the pier, cheaper for the same experience.

Our tour guide, a young man, was totally incompetent about Shanghai history and did not pay much attention to us during the boast tour. Although there were only four of us. His English was too hard to understand.

very nice trip, the view of the skyline was amazing. The boat was really crowded, we had to wait on the ferry terminal one hour and when we were able to get on the boat, all seats were taken so we had to be outside which turned out great because we took the best pictures. Our guide was very serious he needs to smile more frequently but he gave us a detailed information of the buildings around us._br/_ I'd recommend this tour

Loved seeing the city from river but really cold and windy. Hard to get good selfie pictures because of all the people on the boat. Spent more time picking and dropping people off. Would have been better to just take taxi there and buy ticket yourself. Tour guide was nice but 100 CAD to do this tour is expensive considering taxis are really cheap. Just remember taxis take cash and you need to have all places you want to visit written in Chinese as they don't speak English. Our hotel doorman gave us a card that had a lot of the tourist places on it already as well as the hotel in Chinese so we could get back.

Small group tour amongst the hundreds doing the Huangpu River Cruise. Lots of congestion getting onto the boat but plenty of room on board to move around. The lights were really spectacular. A short walk through the Bund and a visit to a famous hotel followed by a trolley train ride along Nanjing Road. Tom was a great guide, happy to chat and share his knowledge of Shanghai.

The River part of this tour was amazing. The lights were beautiful and the Pearl tower glows like a pearl. The tour of Shanghai was a little underwhelming but I did thoroughly enjoy the evening. I was the only person, so I had a private tour.

We saw pretty lights but had no idea what we were looking at - no explanations, no descriptions. Then he took us to a shopping strip and had us ride for 5 minutes in a trolly car down the avenue - nothing to see except stores. Why did we need with us?

Booked the evening cruise to get an idea of Shanghai by night. Tom was very professional and got in contact with the hotel to arrange the pickup time and date and he and the driver were on time. Toms English was perfect and he surely knew the touristy facts about Shanghai.

This was the perfect taste of Shanghai at night. The cruise along the river was beautiful! The downtown tour was just enough to give me shopping ideas for the next day. With an amazing guide, Frank, and convenient hotel pick-up/drop-off, it made my first day in China relaxing and enjoyable!

The boat cruise is very enjoyable it is a great way to see the glittering lights of Shangai city at night time. Unfortunately, we happened to take this tour during the Dragaon boat festival, we were not able to stop by to visit the Peace Hotel at night, due to the massive crowds in the Bund area in that evening. Nonetheless, we still enjoy the tour and recommend it to especially first time visitor to Shanghai.

Unintentionally we arrived in Shanghai on the Dragon Festival public holiday - which meant it was extremely busy everywhere! The tour needed to be cut short because of this as we were not able to get anywhere near the Peace Hotel because of all the people. The river cruise was lovely and relaxing and Tom, our tour guide was very pleasant.

Tour guide made contact but was 1 hour late picking me up - he blamed every thing but himself for the lateness. In his favour he did ring to say he would be 15 minutes late, but he was 1 hour late. He could not stop playing with his hair or looking at his cell phone. By the time the cruise was over it was pouring with rain, had we been on time we would have missed the rain and I would have continued with the rest of the tour which was walking but as it was pouring with rain I asked to go back to hotel. Would not use Viator again

The boat trip was great although the evening we were in Shanghai it was actually snowing! Therefore the boat which can hold up to 500 people was carrying approximately 20 of us, so we had lots of room to move around and take many pics of the amazing buildings on both sides of the river.

It was nice the tour, but the guide Tom was in a rush, walking fast just like trying to get rid of us. He left us in Nanjing road, we ask him if there was no problem taking a taxi back to the hotel, he said yes, no problem, by the end we had to run fast to take the last subway because taxis wanted to charge us 80 yuans, 100 yuans for a short ride.

The cruise was great. We really enjoyed the views. The Peace Hotel and the Nanjing Rd shopping tram were not very good. Our guide, Tom, rushed us every bit of the way. I did not appreciate his being in such a hurry. He made us feel as if we were a burden and he did not want to be there.
