Private Sunset Cruise at Angkor Thom
Siem Reap, Cambodia
End your day at Angkor Wat with a sunset cruise by private gondola along the water by Angkor Thom. As your boat glides serenely along, watch as the sun sets over the majestic temples of the Angkor Archaeological Park. You’ll walk to one of the Prasat Chrung temples with your guide before returning to the boat and then to your accommodation in Siem Reap. Hotel pickup and drop-off by private vehicle are included.
Your tour begins with pickup by private vehicle from your Siem Reap hotel. When you reach the South Gate of Angkor Thom, embark on a boat cruise with your guide over a small baray, a type of reservoir typical of ancient Khmer water management.
Glide gently along in an Angkor gondola, a replica of a traditional Khmer boat also known as a kongkear, which is propelled with a wooden paddle by an experienced oarsman. Without any motor to disturb the calm, you can admire the sunset over Angkor Archaeological Park while you meander past the southwest corner of the ancient walled city of Angkor Thom.
Here, disembark near one of the four temples called Prasat Chrung and hike with your guide to the ruined building, constructed in the late 12th century. Walk under the shade of trees on a 2-mile (3-km) walkway to the top of the gate, where a sunset viewpoint awaits. During your visit, learn about the four small sandstone temples, which were dedicated to a bodhisattva and designed in the style of Prasat Bayon, the magnificent temple at the center of Angkor Thom.
Back in your boat, finish your gentle cruise with a loop back to your starting point and drop-off at your hotel.
Lovely, relaxing and awesome. It stated in schedule we would have quite a walk, but we did not which were pleased about. Saw our guide later in the week collecting another group. He was so friendly and wanted to know how our holiday was going. Buffalo tour guides are great.

San hock was the guide, very talkative not always easy to understand and did waffle when wanted it to be tranquil on the water by gondola. For some reason we never did the walk upto the ruins and didn't get the chance to see any sunset :( no idea why, think he was in a rush. Although stopped at a silk and silver shop that were ultra expensive, did buy a scarf but was usd30!. Back within 2hrs and supposed to be approx 2.5hrs. I hope another tour guide would do better on this particular tour
