On a fateful summer's day in 79AD, Mt Vesuvius erupted, spewing volcanic ash over the village of Pompeii. Unaware of the imminent danger, most people continued on with their daily lives and as a result the entire town and around 20,000 of its inhabitants were buried under tons of ash and pumice.
Almost 2,000 years later, you have the opportunity to explore the preserved ruins of this famous disaster. Your guide will show you fascinating places such as The Forum, Thermal Baths, Lupanare and Vetti's House with its beautiful frescos.Before returning to Sorrento, you'll have approximately 30 minutes to spend at leisure in Pompeii - a great opportunity to shop, enjoy lunch or simply relax!

The tour was great! But very short, so if you are looking for a more in depth tour of Pompeii I would not choose this tour. I do wish we had a little more time after the tour to walk around on our own.

I highly recommend this half-day tour of Pompeii. The pick-up from and back to our hotel was timely and comfortable, and the driver was very knowledgeable about the region, and offered a lot of great tips. Our tour-guide at Pompeii was also wonderful. She was extremely knowledgeable and funny, and went at a great pace. Pompeii is an incredibly fascinating site, and a must-see if you're in the area!

We were picked up from our hotel in Sorrento on time. We were a small group of 5. The driver was very friendly on our drive to Pompeii. The tour guide at Pompeii was very knowledgeable and funny. We really enjoyed this half-day tour to Pompeii. We did not opt for climbing Mt. Vesuvius.

The guide was knowledgeable at Pompeii. I am glad our guide showed us all the highlights and made the tour enjoyable. The tour company was able to pick up from Naples and drop off at Sorrento, though they were not very responsive at first to inquires. The driver from Pompeii to Sorrento was also excellent making the whole experience fantastic.

We had an incredible guide who made our experience very special. She had a large group but managed to know by sight who belonged to our group and several times she asked people who tried to hitch onto our group to leave since they had not paid for a guide and she thought that unacceptable to those who had paid for a guide. The tour was just lengthy enough so that we had been well educated but had not gotten exceedingly tired.

Thoroughly enjoyable and professional trip. Courteous and efficient pick up from hotel by private limo. We were slightly early meeting up with the larger group in Naples so our driver took us for a coffee whilst we waited. Well worth the money.

Our guide Elisa was excellent and we learnt so much about life in Pompeii. Elisa put a humorous edge on things which certainly appealed to us. My only small negative was that the arrival process at Pompeii could be a bit slicker as we were waiting around for a while and it wasn't entirely clear what we needed to do. This is something the tout company could improve on.

Excellent tour with an excellent guide! The tour of Pompeii is only about 2 hours, but it was full of information and gave us plenty of time to explore and see the sights. Without the guide, I would've had no idea what I was looking at or the interesting facts behind the scenes, so it was really helpful. The transportation pickup was very convenient as well, albeit a bit long of a ride. Definitely recommend!

Great experience. Our driver, Enrico, was there on the dock waiting for us. Very courteous and helpful, taking us to the rendezvous point in Pompeii. Our guide Maria was very good. She new her stuff, managed us through the crowds, and also interjected humor into the dialogue. Made people feel very comfortable and kept everthing on track. Our driver, Rosario, who took us back to Sorrento from Pompeii was also very good and courteous. He stopped at a lookout Vista for some nice panoramic shots of Sorrento port. A wonderful day.

We found this rather disappointing, partly because of there being thirty in the group. By the time we got close to what was being explained, the guide was off to another area. Also, a two hour tour is not,even close to enough time to see everything - the 'half day', of course included an hour there and back. I would recommend anyone to find another way to view these amazing ruins. Also a stop at the museum should be included.

The Pompeii tour was very nice. Gino was our guide and we really enjoyed his tour and his personality. It was very, very crowded. We were so happy that we booked the tour because to try to navigate around on your own seemed a bit overwhelming. I did not realize that inside the site the roads were a bit scary to walk on, very uneven. I feel like I spent more time looking at the ground to make sure I did not break an ankle than looking at the actual ruins. I definitely recommend joining the tour to visit Pompeii. The half day was more than enough. Some people in our group continued on to a second tour location, but I wonder if they regretted it, it would be too much I believe.

Pompei itself was amazing, but the massive crowds are annoying. We had two whole bus loads of people assigned to one guide and we all had to stick together. There's a lot of walking involved and there was a lady with a disability in our group who yelled at the guide because she was having a hard time keeping up. I don't recall if there's a disclosure about the amount of walking, but I recommend that people who have a disability seek out a tour that caters to their needs so it won't be so hard for them. The process of waiting to get the return bus is very chaotic.

The tours was fine, but a bit confusing at first. We were told to call for a pick up time, which we did, several times. It was provided the night before and very specific 10:10am, but our driver arrived a bit before 10am and we had to convince him to wait for the other couple in our party. He was threatening to leave at 10:05, when they luckily arrived in the lobby. Everyone on the bus looked ready to kill us. We had requested the tour with an English speaking guide, but did not meet her until we were handed off to several different tour employees along the way. The ride from our hotel in Sorrento to Pompeii was in complete silence and we felt we missed out on local commentary. Pompeii was interesting, of course, but the tour, compared to others I have taken, was not anything special.

This tour was very good. The site is pretty amazing, because the ruins are so well preserved. You are actually walking down streets and into some of the buildings. If you like history, seeing Pompeii is a must, but is also very cool for everyone. Our tour guide Elisa was great - she gave us tons of information!

I would highly recommend that you take this tour instead of venturing on your own. Your guide will point out things that otherwise you might miss. You could tell our guide enjoyed her work and the teachings of the history of Pompeii. One of the best tours we have been on.
