We arrived at Coral World , only to be told that Cruises had been discontinued until Coast Guard had inspected the boat. They wanted to know how I had ordered this event, when they had put it on hold on computer. I understand the hurricane last year caused much headaches, but when you are planning for your family to do an event, it was a little disappointing.

This was an extremely disappointing tour. Coral World is in a remote area of St. Thomas, accessed by taxi from the cruise pier and takes about an hour to get there, especially if Coral World is not the only destination. When we arrived we were told to go to a location to board the semi sub at 2:15. There were 2 other couples waiting. It was very hot and they did not have fans on. After a very long wait--far longer than the 2:15, the tour guide showed up, bringing a larger group of people. He took us on a very treacherous path of loose stones, up and down stairs to the dock, telling us how wonderful their new construction was going to make Coral World The boat itself was old and run down as is most of Coral World and the view of undersea very cloudy. Had not a diver appeared to disperse food, no fish would have been seen. We saw a few tropical fish, some small sharks and the sea bottom corals. Nothing beautiful as the video on the boat shows in vivid color!

Water was a bit murky due to rain, but the trip itself was very enjoyable.

Coral World, like most things on the island, is hard to find without proper street signs. The park is small, especially if you don't know to bring your bathing suit so you can buy the water experiences. The sub ride was good, but it's short and pretty crowded. Glad we did it, but we peobably won't do the sub again.
