Often described as one of the finest walks in the world, the Milford Track is a four day trip through the Fiordland National Park. This one-day option is a great choice if you don't have time to walk the entire Milford Track. On this day trip from Te Anau, you'll walk the first section of the Milford Track. Your nature guide will lead you on a leisurely walk through ancient beech forest and grassy flats. The walk is suitable for walkers of all ages and fitness levels, perfect for those with limited time who want to get a taste of the world famous Milford Track.

Join your guide in Te Anau. Take a short trip by coach to Te Anau Downs. Cruise by catamaran to the head of the lake and the start of the Mlford track.

Follow the Clinton River for a short way, cross a swing bridge and then on through ancient beech forest to the Clinton Hikers Hut. A delicious picnic lunch and hot drinks will be served beside a mountain stream or at the Hut.

Your nature guide will point out the interesting human and natural history of the track along the way and there is plenty of time for you to relax, take photos and view the bird life. Traveling with a small group, a maximum of 12 people per guide, allows for an intimate and unique experience.

Walking is easy and unhurried and there are no big hills. 4-5 hour leisurely walk on a gentle gradient (9-11kms return).

Although it rained (as apparantly it does most days) the tour was great. Very professionally run tour. Great lunch and wonderful surroundings. Who could ask for anything more.

was an amazing daytrip to say the least! i thought originally the price was too much for a guided walk but once you include the return ferry, a brilliant lunch in peaceful surroundings and the knowledge of the guide, it is quite justified! _br/_ if you only have one day free, i would highly recommend this daytrip for anyone who wants to see some of the world famous milford track
