Caeserea, Rosh Hanikra and Acre Day Trip from Tel Aviv
USD $103.00

Caeserea, Rosh Hanikra and Acre Day Trip from Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv, Israel

Explore Israel's ancient Roman cities and ports on a fascinating day trip from Tel Aviv. From the shores of the Mediterranean to the border of Lebanon, you will visit places of significance during the Roman Empire, such as Caesarea, Haifa, Rosh Hanikra and the Crusader underground city at Acre.

Head off first to Caesarea, the beautiful fishing port which was transformed into a Roman Capital capital by King Herod. Your visit includes a walking tour of the many archeological ruins, excavations and majestic Roman theater of the city that was named for Augustus Caesar, and is best explored on foot.

Continue to Haifa, Israel’s third city which is set on and around the magnificent Mt. Carmen. The most striking landmark here is the immaculate Baha'i Gardens, created as a tranquil memorial to the founders of the Baha’i faith.

From here you will travel up towards the Lebanon border to the rock formations of Rosh Hanikra, where impressive white cliffs meet the Mediterranean Sea. The action of the sea on the soft rocks has created a rich labyrinth of caves and limestone grottos, which you will have the chance to stroll around and explore.  The Rosh Hanikra grottos are part of the Achziv Natural Reserve, and you may be lucky enough to catch sight of loggerhead turtle and bats – two examples of the native wildlife in this place of natural wonders.

Your day trip from Tel Aviv concludes with a visit to the city of Acre. The city is often referred to as Akko, which means ‘until here’, illustrating the fact that it was historically the furthest point of in the Israeli Kingdom. Here you will visit the Crusader underground city and crypt, a complex world of underground tunnels and halls which were used by the Knights of St John as their headquarters. Before heading back to Tel Aviv, you will walk back through the Old City Market, where can pick up a souvenir of your day of discovery.

Unfortunately, the tour didn't allow us to spend any time at Baha'i gardens, just let us gaze at the gardens from outside for 5 minutes. The tour didn't stop at the Greman colony either. Rosh Hanikra is a nice place, but I have seen a lot better, and won't spent 2 hour driving there and back if it was my choice. Old Akko is very interesting, I wish we could spend more time there.

This was a really lovely day out. We kept to a good pace and got to see some great places. The cavernous Crusader underground buildings and tunnels at Akko a cable car down to the caverns at Rosh Hanikra, the much bigger than expected ruins of Herod the Great's palace at Caesarea and the informed and interesting commentary by our guide all made for a highly recommended day. It is a mixture of historical periods and, with the additional first hand experience of modern Israeli history from our guide, made this a history buff's dream trip. Even if you are not really into history the sights and experiences are worth the trip. A nice lunch of local fare too.

Again this tour was phenomenal! Tour guide on this one not so much. It was my first tour and I thought the tour was great until I went on 2 more tours the next 2 days and found these 2 tour guides so much more informative.

Very nice trip and you see allot of history and amazing views. The only thing is that the guide although very knowledgeable and friendly could interact a little more with us and a little bit more time on Caeserea and Haifa would be nice but it is a long trip so it is understandable that we need to be a bit faster.

The tour takes you along the coast line of Northern Israel all the way to the border with Lebanon. The sights are wonderful and not to be missed. The natural beauty and scenary are great, the cities of Acre and Haifa, interesting, making you want to explore them further. The guide Avi was professional and goes the tour company, Bein Harim justice.

A bit of a long drive from tel aviv probably 90 minutes to Caesaria. A good portion of the ruins were as found so quite impressive. The amphitheater was enhanced to allow for modern concerts, so a bit disappointing. _br/_ The gardens at the B'hai compound were impressive tho I thought we were going to be able to walk the grounds. We could only look from the streets above. Stil, quite impressive._br/_ We then went to the ocean caves at the Beirut border. A cablecar down to the surface and then tunnels to view the caves: very nice._br/_ Most impressive tho was the security at the border and seeing the Israeli fence, the UN patrols in the no mans land and the Beirut border on the other side really brought home the nature of the region this was the most memorable and impressive part of the tour for me.

Droar our Guide was very good. We have leared a lot new staff today also about the history of Israel. The Tripp is quite long. We Had only 30 minutes Lunchtime which is a bid short. Overall very good and informative.

This is a good tour if you want to see little of a lot of things. Seeing so many places left little time to really enjoy and take in the sites. We had a problem with one of the couples in the group which caused our guide to rush through Rosh Hanikra not allowing time to take pictures. Sadly our time was affected by that one couple who chose to do their own thing and not listen to instructions. Our guide Avi really didn't connect at all with our group and didn't provide as much info as we wold have liked. We have had much better guides. Food was not the best but was OK. Overall it was a rushed, non informative tour but if you have little time it does allow you to cover a lot of ground.

Dear Fellow Tourists,_br/_ Avoid the Bein Harim LTD. Travel service if at all possible. This trip was a disaster from the begining. First the pickup was 30 minutes late. Then all stops afterwards were hurried. The Tour Guide was not the most knowledgeable and at times wanted to get political. He also wanted to argue about what I didn't hear him say. The guides led us to business like sheep to the slaughter trying to get us to pay outrageous prices for nothing. Then in Akko or Acre they took us to a restaurant which was over-priced for poor quality food. The service was bad and when my wife's food came late, I didn't want to pay because everybody was already finished eating. The tour guide did nothing to support the situation, and in typical Israeli customer service fashion, I ended up just telling them to keep the food and paid way more than I should have. At that point I left the tour and took the train back to Tel Aviv. Never again with these bunch of yahoos!!!

This was an excellent full day tour of the north west coastal area of Israel. Our guide Ozzy? was very knowledgable and despite his being 75 years old was full of energy! This was a very efficient way to see many sights in one day. This tour is highly recommended.

Very interesting and well paced tour. We definitely learned a lot more than we would have exploring on our own. Also, our tour guide was very mindful of finding shady spots for us on a hot day, which was definitely appreciated. Would definitely recommend this tour to others.

Our guide was excellent and knew her information and cared about it. The tour did feel rushed as we guess there was a lot to see. Although the souvenir stop seemed more relaxed. The driver was excellent. The places we visited were interesting. My only complaint was lack of toilet stops. We toured Caeserea and got directly back on the bus..and drove for quite a while. When we stopped I asked for a WC and was told that one was a little way down the road and after her presentation I could use it. Not sure I heard all the details about the garden...and raced to the WC...followed by some others._br/_ Same after lunch...several of us headed off for the WC's while she arranged the tickets for the Crusader Castle. After tour we walked through Muslim quarter and one woman left use a public toilet...we all waited till she rejoined us....wish I had been as daring..because after walk through part of town, we got directly on van to head back to Tel Aviv. Finally asked about a rest stop...45 minutes later we pulled into a grungy place with toilets in sad shape. Felt embarrassed.

A good and interesting tour, but some wasted time. We had only left Tel Aviv a few minutes when we stopped for a break - I suspect the tour guide forgot to get his coffee before starting out so needed the stop. Tour guide was knowledgeable and provided much information about the places we visited. Lunch was at a restaurant with only one expensive choice - we could have done better at other places, but no alternatives were suggested -- I suspect the tour guide ate there on all his tours. Could have used more time in the Haifa gardens, but time at the other sites was adequate.

I took 2 tours booked through Viator, both from Tel Aviv. One tour was to Caesarea, Haifa, Akko. The other tour was to Galilee, Nazareth, etc. The problem with these tours is that Viator uses the tour company Bein Harim at least in Tel Aviv and their English-speaking tour guides are horrible. In both cases, I got the least amount of information that I've ever had on any tour.

1. too short for Haifa. 20 min for Baháí temple? it is a jewel of Haifa and it needed at least 1h!_br/_ 2. when you contract out food places make sure that they: a have competitive prices b they can cook. Place where we were for lunch has neither one. It was utterly waste of money and we left barely have eaten there.

The trip was great and well run. Our tour guide knowledgable. The only things I would mention is that we were able to see the old city of_br/_ Acre late in the day, and the stalls were mostly already closed. Also, on the way back the tour guide quit making any comments to the entire bus and just engaged in a few one on one conversations, it felt like the tour was over as we got on the bus to return to Tel Aviv. A_br/_ little wrap up or additional information would have been welcome.

Caeserea, Haifa and Rosh Hanikra were very nice. Unfortunately, when we arrived in Acre we were informed that we could not get in to the Crusader part of the city. Very disappointing. Not necessarily the tour company's fault but they should confirm access before selling tickets.

A wonderful tour that takes you all the way up to Israel's northern border with the Lebanon. Caves, history, city, and current political events the tour has it all. Our guide was very informative, and was able to accurately explain the historical sides, but also current events. The one downside are the small buses provided by the company, which have seats that don't really fit people that are taller than 6 feet.

We were not told the tour would be in 2 languages which was a disappointing aspect of the trip. we had also requested seats be reserved at the front of the bus as we get car sick and we were told that you would make every attempt to make it happen and no attempts were made which was incredibly disappointing to us

Tour could be better . Would have approached a more objective tour guide who just provided facts without his personal political commentary which appeared biased against Muslims and Christians. Would also suggest more English language classes for the guide

This is a diverse tour up the Mediterranean coast with a variety of sights visited. We toured the Roman ruins at Caeserea and then went to the Baha'i Gardens in Haifa. The gardens are beautiful and the view of the city is magnificent. We toured the Crusader fortress at Acre and finally went to Rosh Hanikra to see the limestone caverns. It was a varied day with something for everyone. I would highly recommend this tour.

Loved the tour!! I've seen everything before, only went on this tour to see Rosh Hanikra, and it was worth it. Gorgeous spot, beautiful caves, and it's the real amazing blue that you see on the images everywhere!! We had a great tour guide fluent in both English and Spanish. Definitely recommend this tour!! And it was a different tunnel in Akko that we took on another Akko tour, so it was great for me.
