Jerusalem Half-Day Tour from Tel Aviv: Dome of the Rock and Western Wall
Tel Aviv, Israel
Get inspired by Jerusalem and combine ancient history with spiritual sanctity in this half-day tour from Tel Aviv. Discover the quarters of the Old City by exploring Holy Land attractions such as the Western Wall and the site of Jesus' Crucifixion, enjoying panoramic views along the way.
Departing from Tel Aviv in your air-conditioned coach, your first stop is the Mount of Olives for scenic views over Jerusalem. From this vantage point you can see the Dome of the Rock at theTemple Mount Esplanade, where heaven is said to meet earth.
Traveling via the Kidron Valley, you will pass the Garden of Gethsemane (where Jesus prayed before his crucifixion) before continuing to the walls of the Old City. Entering through the Armenian Quarter, you will visit the famous Western Wall (Wailing Wall), the holiest of Jewish sites which functions as an open-air synagogue for thousands of worshippers.
Your half-day tour then crosses over to the Christian quarter, where you can follow the route of the Via Dolorosa - an important pilgrimage for many Christian visitors. Look out for the 14 Stations of the Cross as you trace Jesus' steps to the site of his Crucifixion at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
After a short walk back along the ancient Byzantine main street, your overview of Jerusalem concludes in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City.
I joined this tour on 18 Nov and had a great time. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and explained the significance of each site as we made our way through Jerusalem. Highly recommended!

A great tour to see the most important spots of the city and well managed by the guide. The half day allows you to then leave and go back to explore a bit more on your own without time constraints. The only downside part is the shop and lunch spots they take the group to as its organised for tourists and not the best prices... But you are better on your own to discover other places.

We enjoyed this tour very much. Our tour guide Avi was very knowledgeable and knew his facts. He was a very nice person too. Our driver too was excellent and we felt very safe at all times. We are very glad we chose Viator/Bein Harim.

This trip is good, except we were joined a half tour, actually. That means the group is seprated into two parts, we were the part stop at Jerusalem, and there is another part, will continue to the dead sea. So it will be a little confused if you don't know the process of the tour.

Amir Call Or was the best tour guide ever ! Amazing energy and great depths of knowledge !

Guide was informative and interesting. Did a good job keeping a large group together and moving. People who want to pray at every shrine should return on their own rather than delay entire group. _br/_
Lunch... Present the options. Buffet was expensive and not very good ._br/_
Did full day... Added PM.

If you're short on time, it's a good way to hit the major highlights of Jerusalem. The guide was spirited and funny, and made the tour enjoyable.

Very nice tour and pointed out all most important points from Jerusalem.

Bus travel service was poorly organised and took far too long - this was not identified in advance. The passenger reallocation at Tel Aviv bus terminus was chaotic. There was also no information that this tour excluded return travel from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv - we had to take a taxi in the circumstances. The itinerary covered on foot was,in effect, a route march with no opportunity to see sites, this tour should be extended to a full day. The tour guide was very knowledgeable.

This has got to be the trip that I'd write a book about. It's an amazing historical tour that is breathtaking and awe-inspiring all in one. Of course it won't be possible if it weren't for the able, willing, and helpful assistance extended by Viator.

Hya, the tour leader was excellent in terms of both knowledge and presentation.

Very worthwhile tour. The tour guide was very friendly, informative and willing to answer any questions. The half day tour is good if you want to spend longer revisiting any of the areas shown in the tour or visiting parts not shown.

Our guide Amir (=top of tree) Call Or was great! Provided us so many information with an enthusiastic approach, we learned and appreciated many things. This Jerusalem tour is highly recommended!

This tour started out a bit rocky when my guide inquired as to my plans upon completion of my half-day tour. When I informed him that I intended to return to Tel Aviv and spend the day on the beach, he promptly inquired as to how I planned to return to Tel Aviv, as the half-day tour ends in Jerusalem...YIKES! So, my half-day tour turned into the full-day Jerusalem/Bethlehem tour...LOL! I simply paid the difference between the half-day and full-day tours (which, ironically, woul have been the same price paid had I taken a taxi back to Tel Aviv).

I changed it to the whole day excursion to include the transportation back to my hotel. There is never enough time but it is a very good formula for a first time.

Excellent guide and tour. _br/_
My only problem was that I had not understood that it was my responsibility to get myself back to Tel Aviv. _br/_
So be aware of this._br/_
However, the guides provided me with a very creative solution - so it ended well.

Great taste of all the things one will want to explore in Tel Aviv later. The morning pick up was chaotic, and the guide firm to manage a big groupbut knowledgeable and really did her best to be sure everyone had a great experience! Thanks Maya

The half day tour was enough for us to see most of Jerusalem's old city. It was a bit of a mission to get from Jerusalem's old city / Jaffa Gate to the central bus station, but once there it was easy to get a bus back to Tel Aviv

This tour is jam packed with things to see. A good bit of walking if that's a problem for you. Tour guide was informative. Souviner shop was only fair. I did not understand the fine print and that the tour ends in Jerusalem. Guide was helpful in suggesting the bus back to Tel Aviv. Took cab from lunch spot to Central bus station then #480 bus for 20 Shekels to Tel Aviv and cab to hotel. Relatively painless. Bus runs every 20 minutes. Enjoyed the city of Jerusalem and this is a good tour if you don't have a lot of time.

The trip itself was very good, especially walking around old Jerusalem. However, there are two things to note:
1. Whilst the webpage states hotel pick-up - this may not mean a pick-up at your hotel itself, and you may have to walk to a nearby hotel
2. The tour is sold as pick up and return to Tel Aviv - this is incorrect, as the tour finishes in Jerusalem and you have to figure out how to get back (we managed to get a trip back as were sold a return trip - even though this was pre-arranged through Viator who had sold the trip as a return trip, the local tour guides initially asked for additional money to be paid by us!)
