See the stars from Tenerife’s Mount Teide, on a 4.5-hour evening tour from southern Tenerife! The dormant volcano — Spain’s tallest — lies at the heart of the UNESCO-listed Teide National Park, and boasts some of the island’s best vantage points. Watch over the rocky island terrain, and gaze at the starry night sky to learn about the constellations from a local guide.
Leave your southern Tenerife hotel by air-conditioned coach, and travel to Teide National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site that surrounds Mt Teide, a volcano located at the heart of the island. One of Spain’s tallest volcanoes at 12,198 feet (3,718 meters), Mt Teide makes for an impressive visit, and its views at any time of day are unforgettable.
Gaze out of the window as you travel up the roads that wind their way around the volcanoes cone, seeing red and ocher-hued volcanic rock bathed in the soft, early evening light. After traveling to a height of around 7,000 feet (2,144 meters), stop for photos and wonder at the incredible views of the island.
As daylight turns to darkness, continue by coach to a little-known vantage point and admire the stars. Meet a professional local guide here, and learn about the different constellations that can be seen twinkling up above in the sky.
After star gazing from the volcano, return to your coach, and finish your night tour with a hotel drop-off in southern Tenerife.
It was more like a lesson of astronomy not a vulcano tour.

Quiet possibly the worst tour I have been on! On paper it sounds amazing and it was something we were extremely looking forward to. However from the get go it was utterly disappointing! The hotel we were told we were to be picked up at has a completely different name to the name emiled to us, which made it incredibly hard to find. When we finally found the hotel and made our way on the coach, the journey took a good hour which we accepted, it's a long way up! Finally we got there and it was so dark that you cannot even see mount tiede! I realise this is an evening tour but I done understand why arrange such a tour in the evening when visabilty is zero. The coach dropped us off in a car park as to here we stayed! In the car park! With two guys with a presentation on an iPad, we had paid this money and endured this journey to stand in a freezing car park with a guy showing us facts on planets on an iPad! After listening to this for a good hour or so we had the long painful journey back which took 2 and a half hours! We left in complete disappointment. I really do not believe this tour is worth running and most certainly not worth the money we paid!

Simply amazing, the star gazing and having someone to teach you all about the history of stars. The trip was pleasant with lots of detailed knowledge about the local culture and history.
