THE WORST. If you are considering a hop on hop off, do the other one!!!! DON'T do CITY Sightseeing. It took 40 minutes to even GET a bus. First, our bus clipped a parked car and took off her mirror. Then, for an unknown reason, when we FINALLY stopped for the first time, a guy came on and told us we had to change busses. THEN, when we finally got going again, the bus seemed to have no suspension. The back hit the ground whenever we hit a dip. It was awful. The driver drove SO FAST and we only saw like industrial areas. When we got off at the lue Grotto/beach area, everyone wished us luck! LOL Well, as it turned out, we needed it. While we waited for another bus to hop on,' TWO of the other company's came by. We pleaded with THEIR driver to let us on, as we only needed to get to the next stop, the Temples. Well, after we toured those, again, we waited and waited. And again, TWO of the OTHER company's busses came by. I CALLED our company and told him, and he said he would send a bus. Good thing I called! Anyway, we finally made it back, and then there was another issue. Anyway, DO NOT use this company!!!!!!

There are long waits between buses 45 minutes . What was horrible and unthinkable was being on the bus at 5 pm hoping to get to the end of the run and being told to exit the bus because his shift was over leaving 10 stranded passengers in the middle of nowhere and telling them a bus would be coming in 10 minutes which Never showed up. I waited 30 minutes._br/_ My title should read Hop On and get the hell off my bus. Sad but true. Too bad I cannot give a negative star.

the bus connects through to everywhere. But the buses do not run on schedule and if you are travelling in the off season then last bus is very early and you don't have a way to get back to Valleta.

Absolutely dreadful! You spend most of your day waiting for the correct bus to turn up as there are several different company's doing the same routes. This is not only confusing but frustrating, waiting in a queue then getting on the bus only to be told its the wrong one!. The biggest problem is the infrequency you have very little time for seeing the sights. The southern route last bus is at 2:30pm and the Northern 3:30.. The day before we used the service a driver from this company drove his bus into a tree! This resulted in several casualties and sadly some fatalities! We had paid for a 48 hour pass, but gave up after 3 hours and got a taxi back to our hotel. If you can spare the cash book a taxi to take you to the same places the bus visits, we did and it was excellent!

The hop on, hop off bus was nice. I just wish that the hours for the bus were longer so that we could enjoy the stops more. We were also unable to complete the north and south routes in full because we chose to get off the bus on some stops.

Used the Hop on Hop off bus 2 days, February 27 and March 1, this is a good way to see Malta. Due to heavy traffic, the buses were a bit late, maybe 15 minutes or more, in the more congested areas of Malta. Since I was there in the winter season, the buses didn't start running until 9 AM. An earlier start in the day might have been better._br/_ Ken M, Nebraska, USA

One of the, if not THE best HopOnHopOff we have ever done. Lots to see.Only had time to do 2 of the3 routes. Ideal for a day trip from a cruise ship.

Review by:   Braidwood G,    March 2018 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
Very hard to find pick up and we were unable to find the route stop for the circuit we wanted using their map and schedule. Not nearly enough commentary these tours in other places have much more info

Wouldn't do this again. Malta is easily accessible by public transport, Pot luck whether the headphones work as well.

Decent way to get around the island, but the pick-ups are quite infrequent one bus every hour. Audio guide narration is...spotty, at best.

Good hop on and hop off experience around teh south side of the island - always a useful way for getting first impressions.

We felt the commentary was not very good, with long periods of silence, when there must have been so much history or further facts that could have been added._br/_ We were left waiting for a bus to show up at the Mdina glass factory for 2 hours, which inconvenienced our plans for the rest of the day to take the south route._br/_ We have used the Hop on Hop off Bus in many countries and have been happy with the service, but unfortunately, this time, the bus was old and needed to be cleaned, and we felt let down with the quality of service.

Folks right there departing the ship. Pointed to the bus departure point. Mdina is great to see. Wi-fi on bus didn't work.

The bus was always late and in order for us to get back in time for the boat, we only had 15 minutes at a stop because the bus was so late. Other than that, this served the purpose we were looking for to seeing a lot of sights in an affordable and different way.

Review by:   Christine K,    October 2017 Review: 4 star rating: Recommended
The buses were packed with people standing up upstairs. Cruise ships made it a slightly uncomfortable experience as people were pushing and shoving. This, I know, was beyond the bus company's control. The commentary was sparse. But, we took two routes and saw a lot of the island.

The 3 tours you sold us did not fit the operators tours or resemble the tours they actually do.

The Hop-On Hop-Off bus was okay, but the loop takes SO long 3 hours! It was good to see some of the countryside but if we had to do it over again, I think we would skip this. If there are only a couple of stops you're really interested in seeing, I recommend a rental car or taxi.

Good to see places when time is limited. We couldn't fine the 'pyramids', ha ha, driver pointed us the wrong way, and they were just a lot of rubble when we found them an hour later._br/_ We enjoyed lunch in Marsaxlox, sorry can't spell, then went out to the Blue Grotto. _br/_ The negative is that there are different bus companies just to confuse the visitors. It really did.

Review by:   Joan M,    July 2017 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
We were actually disappointed in this tour. I think the Hop-on Hop-off tours are better in cities where there are sites to see every few minutes. There was just so much driving because we covered so much ground. We got off at the Blue Grotto, but when we got there, we found out that it would be another boat ride and lots of time to see it. So, we didn't do it because the next bus was coming in 45 minutes. Which is a long time when there is not much to do.

Giving it only a four even though we ednjoyed it very much, becuase of the awful considiton of the buses dirty and the fact that no one told us that one of the attractions we wanted to enter would be closed the day we went--Malta has so mnay national holidays it is hard to keep track of all of them. _br/_ You cannot go backwards on the route--you have to go in the circle--so we got a nice tour of the island when we finished with Mdina, Rabat, Mosta. The earphones give a great gtour of waht is going on in each place you pass so you can decide if you want to hop off. Loved that we could see all of it form the roof of the bus and try to take pix! At some really lovely sites, teh driver stops so you can get a better photo

The buses only pass each stop every hour which isn and #39;t often enough for some stops. This leads to you not being able to do both routes in 1 day, and the last buses for the day are very full.

The North tour was very good and Mdina is well worth visiting. The South tour was OK until Vittorioso which was beautiful but after that it is a complete waste of time.

This is a great way to look around when you are not familiar with the city. On time amd relatively inexpensive. We jumped off at a number of destinations...one of which was the Mdina Glass Factory world famous where we made a few wonderful purchases. I highly recommend this tour and will use it again in the future.

The HOHO tour is great to have a quick overview of this scenic country. We fully enjoyed the tour. That said, those that will take this tour will find out that most people stay on board the bus except at Mdina. So one may have to wait a while to get back on the bus if one get off at locations that are not popular to tourists from the cruise ships.

A whole day means from 9.30 - till 15.30. And bus arrival 30 min means in fact around an hour.

Company Overbooked this hop on, hop off bus. No room to get on bus 3 times in a row.. Finally got on 4th time,1st driver drove so fast people lost their hats on top deck, audio headphones did not match up to what you were seeing. No defined lines at cruise pier, everyone just pushed and shoved to get on, mainly because it was overbooked. 2nd driver ground gears so hard we were afraid he didn't know how to drive. Not enough room to get back on bus at Blue Grotto, had to take taxi back to pier as to not miss our ships departure. Beware of this, it ruined our day in Malta.

a very good option to see the island. The Red Island route tour does not coincide with the blue route tour, so in order to be able to do both you need at least 3 full days on the island to enjoy both routes.

The bus was quite old, the traffic was crazy and the driver not particularly friendly. It was also so hot that we decided against doing a second route.

Brilliant day, easy to navigate the drop off and pick up points. Didn't realise it was a public holiday I booked and so the bus timetable finished earlier than usual and so had to catch the normal service bus back to original destination. This was not a problem but something to be aware of if booking in advance. Didn't spoil the day

First route driver was rude to customers, example he waved off a question... Pointed to wrist and showed 2 fingers.. Continued talking to guys sitting by a tree at a stop where no one exited or got on. Second route driver knew his group ( cruise boat) and moved along. Audio informative.

Rather disappointing compared to the Malta Sightseeing tours which gave you three different routes. Although advertised as blue/red routes both join up and you have to do the full circuit. The island buses are very cheap at 1 euro 50 cents for a trip expiring after two hours. However this gives people a good overview. On the day we went two buses broke down and we had to change, one delayed by half an hour which cut into our sight seeing time so we couldn't visit the catacombs in Rabat as we wished. The staff are very friendly but I would certainly recommend choosing Malta sightseeing instead.

Miserable.when we hoped off and visited a sight we could not get back on.we had two buses pass us up because they were full. When we finally forced in we were smashed against many bodies and no one got off because they were afraid they wouldn't get back on. That was the end of our tour.

Too many people for the busses. People were able to push into the line because the buses stopped in random places. You had to wait for two or three buses and push yourself to get on one. Never again for me.
