Vancouver Highlights Bike Tour

Vancouver, Canada

On this popular 5-hour bike tour of Vancouver, ride on dedicated cycling lanes for most of the easygoing route, and stop to hear tales of the city from a knowledgeable guide. Without traffic to worry about, focus on the sights: Stanley Park’s rain forest and wildlife, an oasis in Chinatown named one of the world’s top city gardens, and the city’s historical center of Gastown. Cycle on seawalls for magnificent views of the skyline, North Shore Mountains and False Creek. Riders of all levels will enjoy this small-group tour limited to 12 people.

Meet your small group at a bike rental shop in downtown Vancouver to begin your 5-hour tour of the city. During a safety briefing, you’ll be fitted with a bike, helmet and lock. Whether you're getting back on for the first time in years or use a bike every day, it's sure to be an enjoyable ride. The proof? It's rated among Vancouver’s top sightseeing tours by TripAdvisor reviewers. You’ll get plenty of opportunities to snap pictures and rest at well-timed stops to learn the city’s history.

Starting in the West End, a waterfront neighborhood of historic homes, make your way into Stanley Park, the 1,000-acre (405-hectare) urban green space surrounded by ocean on three sides. Capture beautiful views of the city skyline, the snowcapped North Shore mountains, and on cloudless days, Mount Baker in Washington state as you cycle along the park’s perimeter seawall.

Veer off onto one of the park’s many trails and enter a rain forest, cruising by Beaver Lake before you stop to admire a 700-year-old cedar tree. Learn about the diverse ecosystems here and catch glimpses of wildlife like bald eagles, herons and river otters along the way. Your guide also shares engaging history about the First Nations people who once inhabited these grounds.

Switching gears, hop off your bike and onto a ferry! Your destination is Granville Island, where you'll have a 45-minute break for lunch (own expense) and time to explore the open market boasting hundreds of vendors selling food, arts and crafts.

After lunch, cycle along False Creek and into Olympic Village, with views of Science World. Ride into the lively Chinatown and visit Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Garden, named by National Geographic as the 'world’s top city garden,' for an idea of what 15th-century China may have looked like.

Then it’s off to Gastown to learn about its colorful history as a logging outpost. This cool neighborhood is teeming with upscale restaurants and boutiques that you might want to check out later on your own.

Finally, make your way through Coal Harbour and watch seaplanes take off from Burrard Inlet before arriving back at the bike rental shop, where your tour ends.

Fantastic way to see Vancouver we had a very knowledgeable and interesting guide. Went through Stanley Park saw the totem poles and wild life. Went round English Bay where there are beautiful views of the ocean and on to Granville Island - great variety of places to pick up a tasty lunch - we opted for slices of Pizza and sat on a bench to eat them but you could have sat inside at other restaurants. Would probably suggest you take a bottle of water with you - it was a lovely warm day when we went but there were places to stop to pick up a bottle. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Vancouver

The Vancouver tour was great!! Our guide Paulo was really amazing - I learned so many historical, interesting and fun facts about Vancouver and have encouraged my Vancouver friends to go on the tour as I am sure they will too!!! The five hours flew by!!!

This tour was so much fun, even though my friend and I were not dressed appropriately. It rained and got chilly, but that didn't damper our experience. Great way to get acquainted with the city and see some amazing sights. The food market was awesome - as was the chicken pot pie. Our guide was great and I would highly recommend this tour.

Great overview of the city. The tour guide we got 9:30 slot was amazing, both very informative and funny. Lots of stops along the way to talk about the various sights. Mostly flat, very few uphills. With the bikes being in great condition, it was an easy ride. Was very happy that we did the tour on our first day in the city because it gave us a lot of insight into what to visit later during our stay. By late afternoon the pedestrian and car traffic made it a little challenging as we wrapped up the tour back in the center of the city nothing too terrible, just required a heightened awareness. Would definitely recommend this tour!

We LOVED this bike tour! Our guide was Greg and he was fantastic! Having lived in Vancouver for 20 years, it was so refreshing to hear his stories and his knowledge of this beautiful city! We went to Stanley Park and along the sea wall. We also went to the World Market for lunch. We rode by China Town and Gas Town as well. It was all just a fantastic experience and I highly recommend it for anyone who only has a day to spend in Vancouver!

Lucked into a beautiful day to cycle around a wide swath of Vancouver. We covered an incredible amount of ground. Spirited and fun guide. The tour made several stops to take in the views and hear our guide's perspectives. Nice 1 hour break at Granville Island for lunch mid-tour. Conventional and electric assist bikes available the tour is 95 flat so you don't need the electric option but boy are they fun!

Great way to see a lot of Vancouver in half a day and get some light exercise while doing it! Our guide was great, entertaining and made sure everyone got there safe while having fun._br/_ You won't get as much in-depth information like on a normal guided tour where you walk and get a lot of information via headset and frequent stops, but that's ok. You get to see Stanley Park instead and get a great sense of where everything is as well as how to walk / bike there on your own. So I'm very glad I booked this tour, and can definitely recommend it to anyone who knows how to ride a bike!

Excellent bike tour through Vancouver City and along the sea-wall. Easy going terrain and lots of stops en route for refreshments and photo ops. A great way to see a lot of Vancouver in a short time. Thoroughly recommended for short-stay trips to this lovely city.

I loved this tour!!! This is the best way to see Vancouver. Our amazing tour guide, Paulo, showed us so many areas of the city, different neighborhoods, parks, forests and taught us so much about the history, economy and life in Vancouver. This was the best day! I highly recommend this tour. Vancouver is so bike-friendly it should be the poster child for all other cities.

Loved this tour! Worth every penny! Our guide, Paulo, was great. He is very knowledgeable about the city and we saw a lot of it! We would never have found our way around and would not have been able to see as much if we were trying to do it on our own. Rode a total of 14 miles, but there were plenty of short stops so we never got really tired out. We had a nice lunch break on Granville island with time to eat and do a little shopping. The bikes and helmets were in great shape. Highly recommend!

What a terrific way to spend our one full day in beautiful Vancouver!! Ifny, our guide, was SO knowledgable about so many different topics, and her obvious love and admiration for Vancouver was irresistible. We had gorgeous weather, which always helps. All the planned stops and a few spontaneous ones were educational, enjoyable and much appreciated. The bikes were terrific too! Our 8-year-old enjoyed it all as much as us grownups. We very much recommend this tour, this guide, and this company. Bravo!

Vancouver is a great city with good and improving urban bike path system. Within minutes we were transported from the ultra modern glass skyscrapers of downtown and into the ultra quiet of Stanley Park cedar forest. There are many nice city and harbor views. Only one serious problem--our guide a Canadian insisted upon inserting his personal views into American politics. Not cool, and made us very uncomfortable. We do not hire guides to get lectured to about how awful America is and how terrible our politicians are. Beware

Great tour of Vancouver. Won and #39;t go into specifics of itinerary, the Viator description does that well enough. The route was pretty easy to pedal. The bikes were in great condition and rode smoothly. And our guide, Greg, was fantastic. Helpful, attentive, knowledgeable, and a great sense of humor.

Ifny our tour guide was fabulous and very knowledgeable of the city. A wonderful way to see the city, I would highly recommend the tour. There were a couple of blocks that were hard to ride but I just got off and walked my bike. Don't let that detour you from going on this bike ride. Weather was perfect.

We had a great experience on the tour led by Paulo. We got to see a huge amount of downtown Vancouver, learn more about the city's history and future, and what makes Vancouver special. The path was generally flat except for two moderate overpasses. The equipment was well-maintained and just right for the kind of riding we did. We enjoyed the tour so much we plan on doing bike tours in other places that we visit. If we had had more time, we would have rented bikes and explored more of Vancouver.

My wife and I were both a little nervous prior to the 12 mile, 5 hour tour. After all we both are not exactly running marathons and we are in our early 50's. However, the prior reviews I read were spot on - this is an activity for a wide variety of people. My wife and I both had to walk the bikes up two hills but other than that found the tour very doable! We can not say enough good things about Greg, our tour guide. He made sure everyone was safe and had a great time. He was very knowledgeable about the city. If you are in Vancouver for a short period of time and want to see the city - this is for you. I highly recommend this tour.

Great way to see Vancouver. Guide was wonderful. Last part of city cycling was nerve wracking for my nine year old because you are riding in very busy streets with no bike lanes. Probably more suitable for a 12 year old.
